  • The last part of the overview is playing with the embroidery side of the BERNINA 535. This machine embroiders beautifully but it doesn't have all of the editing features as some of the other machines that are geared more towards embroidery. However for someone who is looking to do some embroidery this will work out perfectly. With all of our BERNINA machine we use DecoBob 80wt thread in the bobbin and Isacord embroidery thread.

Thank you so much for doing these videos! I don’t embroider all that often so they are a great refresher. Learn something new every time.

Wow..I have always been afraid of Embroidery machines. I think you have to have a cheat sheet the first time and it is pretty easy. I have watched this series because I’m interested in this machine. I appreciate your details in reviewing this machine. Thank you. 💙

Wonderful, important information Cody, very detailed, and so easy to follow. I will be playing this back when I start embroidering 🙂 Just discovered Decobob a couple of months ago, and love using it. Please keep the videos coming, you’re a fabulous tutor, and its very appreciated. 🤩✂️💡 PS Just discovered frixion pens too, brilliant.

Love your videos. I just recently bought a Bernina 535 with out the embroidery module. Now I am sorry I didn't get it with my machine. Do you know if it is possible to purchase it separately?

Thankyou Cody. Great explanation. Did you use medium cutaway stabilizer? What pen for marking? Very interesting that you you Decobob for Bobbin too. I usually use Bobbin fill, but i have some Decobob.

Yes I LOVE. Medium weight cutaway just a great stabilizer to work with. The marking pen was a frixion pen so it goes away when I hit it was a quick iron or steam. Yes we exclusively use Decobob on the bobbin and have for years now. Such great success with it. 😀😀
Also thank you and glad you enjoyed the video 😊

I just got a 590, and playing around with it, I am suddenly stuck with an extra long stitch, even when I use the knob to change stitch size. This changes the stitch size on the screen, but not in actuallity!! Even turning off the machine and turning it back on does not change the stitch length. HELP!!

Thank you for your videos! This has been so helpful. I have what may seem like a really dumb question. I am not sure if I have to use a straight stitch to embroider on the 535 or I can use it for better results. If it is necessary for embroidering I am wondering why I didn't get it with my machine and embroidery module? Seems very silly and honestly a bit frustrating if I needa stitch plate that didn't come with it. Anyways, Thanks again for such great info and opinions!

I am so happy you’re enjoying my videos and that they have helped you. That’s why I create them for all of the BERNINA peeps out there. I agree with you they straight stitch plate should come with all the machines that embroider because they do recommend to use that stitch plate. But it is not required and many people including myself don’t always attach it when embroidering.😀😀😀

Sewing With Cody and Pete thank you for your answer! I tried to do my first design last night and it wanted to confirm that the straight stitch plate was in place. It was a satin stitch so...maybe that was why? I’m not sure but I’ll troubleshoot and try to figure it out! I definitely felt like it was a “requirement” and they didn’t include the plate they were basically trolling me 😂
