@ashley12992 I think I heard it was named that because of a French man named Arsene Lupin who was a detective/thief in an old novel. The lyrics sort of have to do with the theme of being a detective/theif ("Always remain one step ahead" and "If you're obvious like the others it's game set"). I think that's also why they wear all black. To be honest, it's a bit of a stretch and I'm not sure if that's what they were going for
I should add there is a slight variation of the initial idea because the thing that they are talking about (stealing and winning) is them (their heart, their love) and they are as much of a thief as the person they are competing with (obviously a guy) and they want to "steal" him but they want it to be him stealing them (some sort of alpha male complex). kind of twisted but still makes sense, behind the main subject it's still a love story.
correction it's not detective thief it's gentleman thief, they are very good books i strongly recommend you try reading one (I don't know about the translations, I read them in french)
The subs themselves are made by using Aegisub. Then you take the sub file and overlay it onto the raw video using virtualdub. It's kind of complicated for me to explain the entire process, but if you do a quick google search of something like "aegisub tutorial" I'm sure you'll find out how to do it.
