I think we can call that "identity". For example, in the past only snsd has 9 members. They created an original formation and style in music. But now we can see a lot girl group copying snsd formation (even their style) that's why we can't distinguish them easily if we are not their real fans. Because they lack originality and they just feel similar to other group.

I think it's crazy how the differences in the K-POP industry and how it's more than just sitting back and enjoying the music. It's all about views, likes, and making sure they come out on the top. What i love about SNSD the most and the older generations is that we didn't need the view count to really show how ICONIC they really are and how they pretty much ran the world back then. We kinda just knew they were LEGENDARY. We can come back and watch their videos and relive those old moments and enjoy what K-POP really used to be about and how it was more than views.

jinhwan is tall I think Twice does a decent job but the different between them and GG is GG is more real. Especially in the earlier days, like in this mv, the girls in GG seem like real people. I really really really love everything about Genie. The musicality, the choreography, the concept, the outfits, their strong vocals, especially the class and elegance. It's not something flashy or extravagant, it's actually simple but still noticeable and impressive. This concept is truly one of their best concepts and in Kpop in general. I can't even explain how much I love this song and its choreo and its outfits. It's just that iconic. Nothing else comes close.

What I love about old kpop is the uniqueness of each group in music, it's hard to explain. Now kpop has many great songs but i just cant recognize them easily, they seem so similar...

I think we can call that "identity". For example, in the past only snsd has 9 members. They created an original formation and style in music. But now we can see a lot girl group copying snsd formation (even their style) that's why we can't distinguish them easily if we are not their real fans. Because they lack originality and they just feel similar to other group.

I think it's crazy how the differences in the K-POP industry and how it's more than just sitting back and enjoying the music. It's all about views, likes, and making sure they come out on the top. What i love about SNSD the most and the older generations is that we didn't need the view count to really show how ICONIC they really are and how they pretty much ran the world back then. We kinda just knew they were LEGENDARY. We can come back and watch their videos and relive those old moments and enjoy what K-POP really used to be about and how it was more than views.

I feel like there's no GG yet that rocks cute/feminine concept as much as snsd did. This group really have it all. Visuals. Dancers. Singers and actresses. They're like the golden package. Like I don't even stan them but I always come back to listen to their old songs.
jinhwan is tall I think Twice does a decent job but the different between them and GG is GG is more real. Especially in the earlier days, like in this mv, the girls in GG seem like real people. I feel like I could see these girls out on the street. They were living their dream, they truly wanted preform and they made each preformance unique.

as a Korean, now 25, when i was 13, SNSD was definitely more than BTS+Blackpink, in terms of "Only Korea", not globally. 8 of 10 hit songs were from SNSD
This is probably one of their best songs, arguably their best, the melody, the production, the adlibs and soultry seductive vibe and tone of the song, Jessica’s voice in particular really set the tone for the song and even Sunny’s alto voice

I really really really love everything about Genie. The musicality, the choreography, the concept, the outfits, their strong vocals, especially the class and elegance. It's not something flashy or extravagant, it's actually simple but still noticeable and impressive. This concept is truly one of their best concepts and in Kpop in general. I can't even explain how much I love this song and its choreo and its outfits. It's just that iconic. Nothing else comes close.

This song Genie is still Iconic to this day in 2022 for doing these 5 things:
1. SNSD's live performance of Genie STILL has the highest TV ratings ever in Kpop Music Show history.
2. Innovated the many kind of "V" formations for group dances that we still see in Kpop.
3. Invented the "Center" Position with Yoona as the Center and really pushed it, the position is now a staple in Kpop.
4. Started the Marine/Uniform concept.
5. "DJ, put it back on".
Genie was not that well-received when it was first released. It lost to the then-rookie 2NE1's "I don't care" in music shows, during its third week's promotion.
At the time, kpop song promotions normally lasted for more than a month but it was suspected that SM cut short Genie's promotion due to its defeat to I don't care. Because none of the members were too busy at the time but Genie's promotion was abruptly ended at the third-week mark.

1. I stand corrected that Genie promotion was cut short.
`Almost a month` is still not a month and that's pretty short compared to the promotion of successful songs at the time (2009) which often lasted almost two months.
Ask any kpop fan from that era and they confirm this for you.
2. Hello Baby was very low in priority compared with other activities like song promotions, TV dramas, DJing.
For example, Taeyeon often had to leave hello baby filming to do her DJ job (Chin Chin).
So Hello Baby was definitely not the reason for Genie short promotion.
3. I have to clarify when I said `Genie was not that well received` I meant to compare it with truly successful songs at the time (2007-2010).
Of course Genie was pretty successful at the time and did pretty well on the chart.
But not extremely successful or iconic like OP said.
