I want soo much to let you repair and tune my board cuz you are doing it with passion but im from italy and here it's very hard to find any good skiman. most of them just use machines and i don't like that. TNX for letting me learn how to do it by myself
I use a dremel to shape my deep cuts before applying PTX, it works beautifully. You can't even tell it was ever cut after I repair, and I only have three clear base boards.
@D0cHoliday1 I always use a metal scraper, never a plastic one. You kinda have to be careful not to gouge the surronding area, but, if you have a higher-end board with a hard sintered base, it's easier because the base material of your snowboard is much harder than the repair you just did. Go for it, be careful, don't be afraid, and, practice makes perfect. Plastic scrapers are for removing wax, not ptex. Sharpen your metal scraper by putting it in a vice and filing the edge flat.
i hit rock the other day and its showing base right on my heel edge. i keep on ptexing it and it keeps on cracking and not staying. any one got solutions on what im doing wrong?
Duke your videos are the best man. much love

Awesome channel!
Pro tip etch the gouge in the board so the ptex can have a surface to stick to otherwise you risk it falling out.
the silicon hot glue rods its the same material with p-tex candle ??
would you wax after your repair?
Can you use a heat gun?
how much does it cost for a hole 6x bigger then that hole
you should clean the area with base cleaner first, so most of the wax would be gone. Therefore you should wax after it, but let it cool first.
@vskstyle666 You are welcome my friend.
You would probably want to sharpen your chisel.
it will scratch up the rest of the base..and will probably leave you with an uneven spot. scraping only takes off whats sticking up
Wheres the end shot, final product? Cut short

try cleaning the base and heating it before you put it on
ur using a bullet pen
Thats bullshit a hole like that wont damage your board!
