- "Country Bookie!" | Saint Lucian Village Countryside | Caribbean Luxury Lifestyle
Hi beautiful viewer! In this vlog, spend the day in my Saint Lucian countryside village. Let me give you a realistic Saint Lucian summer weekday feel.
How many of you were called “County bookie!” growing up? Did you feel offended by it? I for sure was teased a bit in high school but it could never phase me. When I take one look around my village, all I feel is gratitude and blessed.
Stay tuned for Part 2 where I follow my Caribbean grandfather around for the rest of the day.
Thanks for watching!

Hello, thanks for exploring my channel today. My name is Kurrdeige and I make authentic vlogs highlighting bits and pieces of my life. Originally from the island of #saintlucia in the #caribbean . I make lifestyle, #travel, and #foodie related content on this channel. Currently, I am documenting my journey through an Accelerated BSN Nursing Program. I hold a Bachelors in Biochemistry and Masters in Public Health but to better achieve my long-term goal and be more well rounded, I made this calculated move to return to school for one more year.

Beautiful vlog. They let the chicken hatch way too many eggs. The back of the house is so peaceful with all the fruit trees. We don't understand the love of picking fresh fruits from the trees...unless we have to buy them at foodtown for an arm and a leg. You'll are blessed
I found it funny that one hen looked like it was waiting for the other to get up like they're rotating shifts. So many things we take for granted. It is so true that the tiny things need to be appreciated. I wanted to depict that in this vlog. Watching the slight rustle of a leaf reveal a twinkle of a sun ray makes me happy.
It’s amazing how similar your country is to Dominica-people, language, lifestyle, nature and all, excepting for your “the” and mark”et”. Very authentic!
It really is! Hi neighbour 🇩🇲
Yes St. Lucia is very beautiful, I have been there once and must come again. Saying hi from Barbados!
I would love to visit Barbados again as well. You’re welcome over 🇱🇨🤗
Vlog style is natural, thanks for bringing back memories of the fruits and plants I grew up eating and haven't eaten in decades.
You’re very welcome
MY SECOND VIDEO YAAY LOVE IT SIS I WOULD LOVE TO MOVE THERE SEEMS PEACEFUL AND COMFORTABLE KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK LOVE FROM TEXAS 💪🏾
Wherever you choose to move, I bet you will make it your home. You're always welcome to our beautiful island. 🇱🇨
Good morning am from the island of Grenada. I migrated to the US VI. Everything am watching on your video we do the same in Grenada. Love it . The Fat Pork. The Shadow Beni for seasoning. We do have fat pork in the VI. They use it for hedges. We also eat them here . They call them cocoa plum in the VI. Love the video.
We are just trying one Caribbean…we may have different accents but so much is so similar.
Thanks for the information.
You're welcome

I like the idea of the fish sellers coming to people. How often do they come around , every day or on selected days?.
It is a beautiful and relaxing place where you live 😊
Hey 🙂 It is very convenient. They pass by at least twice a week on random days. You don’t have to worry about missing it since you will hear the conch 🐚 sound from afar. Thanks for watching. Where are you from?
@@KurrdeigeLenora I am in UK...and envy you being in such a beautiful and calming place.
It is beautiful although we tend to take it for granted sometimes.
I ❤ fatpoke. Oh how i miss home 😊
'Fatpoke' is to be loved. Home will always be there for you whenever you're ready
Soo nice love it, when is part 2 coming?

Welcome ...woah wait i am coming and enjoy the fresh air. Please save me some fruits....fish right there
You are always welcomed! I appreciate reading your comment.
One tree I was looking forward to seeing and hearing some comments on is the breadfruit tree. This tree features prominently in the spaces settled by St. Lucians in Guyana.
Ohhh We don’t have a breadfruit tree at my home but there are many throughout the community. It was actually breadfruit season when I filmed this video so most families are it as part of lunch.
First time seeing a five finger tree so big
😄 Really?! Now I’m curious how old this tree is
Nothing sweeter than country living
I agree with you 🙌🏾
Keep doing your vibe, really good 👍
Thank you!! Will do 👌🏾

It’s the palm trees for me.come across your channel today subscribe 👍
Welcome aboard!
You can boil it like a jam and use to bake cake, the drink is nice mixed with lime
Thanks for sharing. I love learning from my subscribers' experiences. I have never had 5 finger jam or with cake. I have had the drink (not with lime). Look at how much can be done with one fruit. Love it!
Nice hairstyle!
Thank youu. This “pepper seed” hairstyle is one of my favorite styles 😊
You use it as tea and very good to season fish or any meat
I should pack some to bring to the US when I visit home then. I only found out it can be used in food recently.
Thought 'country bookie' was a Trinidadian term, oh well....guess its Caribbean.😊
We all use 'Country bookie'. You see, we are one Caribbean 🤗
In Jamaica some people call your five finger fruit a star fruit ❤🇯🇲
Thanks for sharing that. Now I know three names for it: Carambola, 5 finger, and Star fruit. I made an error in the vlog and said “Lady fingers” as well but that’s for Okro.
Star fruit in Jamaica and the U.S.
Chadon benne
i dont know the first fruit u shgwed us but the one u called 5 fingers is called chinese jimbelin in jamaica ,largest such tree i ever seen,
Thanks for sharing! In a more recent vlog I shared, another person from 🇯🇲 said they call our “plum” “jimbelin”. It’s interesting the 5-fingers is called “Chinese Jimbelin”.
What is the meaning of jimbelin in Jamaica?
Shado beni
Hi Purdey, thank you...Shado beni
In the Bahamas we call it cocoa plum
Wow thanks for sharing! Cocoa plum 🙂
Yes 👍 could you spell the name of the fruit please? I didn’t understand when you pronounced it.
@@terrancegibson2213we call it “Fat poke” or in our French Creole dialect 🇱🇨, we say “Zee-kak”
Ok thanks much🙏
if ants or birds eating the fruit it is sweet
That’s very true 😄
How much is a small pot of land to purchase there??
Hello, I am not sure myself. Hopefully someone sees your question and can provide an answer. 🙂
I know this place 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽
Of course you do! 😀 Thanks for watching!
I love cats what her name
The eldest cat there is named Piki...she was the first cat in the yard at the start of the vlog.
Before we never used to wash them
😄 We even used to eat it 'CouCoubeck' (When an animal has already taken a bite out of the fruit...birds, bats, manicou, all kinds LOL!)
@@KurrdeigeLenora that's right😂

I'm from saint lucia I wouldn't mind talking to somebody in saint lucia
I bet there are a lot of Saint Lucians who would love to talk to you. We are good people. 😄
But I live in new york
Where in st, lucia
La Pointe, Mon Repos on the east coast
Please stop spooking the chickens😅. Save me some 'five fingers' and 'fat pork'. Need some of that slow, laid back living.😊🇹🇹
They're not used to noise 😄 They living in too much luxury 😂 When you're ready, the fruits will all be there for you to enjoy
Are there any snakes in that area
Thankfully there are no snakes in my community (La Pointe, Mon Repos). That’s something I am always grateful for 😅.
However, there are snakes in places like Praslin, Canaries, Dennery…these are communities closer to the rainforest areas. If you’re not from Saint Lucia, take a look at the map online to get an idea. 🇱🇨
Can we have a conversation someday
I love great interactions through comments 🙂🇱🇨
Are you in s l
I was, not anymore
Beautiful scenery
