Great video, nigel! I'm crossing my fingerns for smooth sailing on this one. Yes, cuttings take a long, long time with this species. I am inspired to make my first repot and root.pruning on a cutting i got from jelle. 2 years ago now! Successfuly rootet one cutting from it 😂
I like the brt, one off the last tropicals I really want 😇! Did not come across that YET. Thank for letting all of us join you in the bonsai zone Nigel, the honour is ours(everyone watching)!
Nice pruning of the BR. Your trees are looking good on the updates. That would be great if that large cutting roots for you. Fingers crossed. I like the way you go back in time and show your root work on this tree. The Doctor is in and doing root surgery in operating room 3. Excellent Dr. Saunders. Nice growth for this year I see for the tree.
It looks amazing and going back in time was so cool! Thank you, Nigel, I'll keep watering mine since it has dropped all the leaves in the fall when I left to Poland. Most branches are dead, I'm just waiting to see if anything new will sprout of the main trunk, which is still alive
What a beautiful tree, brother! Even though it comes from where I live, yours looks so much more natural! How have you accomplished to keep it so "clean" and healthy? Do you water the leaves and trunk? Looks like a very "moisty" trunk...
Nigel, big pruning; looks really good. And there YOU are in 2019! You could be the doppelgänger for Dr. Neil Turok, theoretical physicist (and Director Emeritus, 2008-2019) at The Perimeter Institute…in WATERLOO!!! Half of the Kitchener Waterloo Bonsai Society! Wow! And you and the KWBS and your trees are right there too. Good Vibrations and great energy all around!!! 🌿 ✨🌿 Many thanks.
Family Fabaceae, my favorite family of trees. I have never seen a Rain tree in real life, yet, does it have the family trait of closing its leaves at night? I noticed a few members of this Family of tree share the leaf and branch style but not that closing reaction at night.
Looks great and can't help thinking on how often trees in nature have similar structure where the trunk divides not that far up (like maples etc) I have no idea of the growth of BRT but it doesn't matter as long it looks natural.
Ironically I just completed a light prune on my BRT this very afternoon. I wish I’d seen this video first. I’m inspired watching you work. Thanks so much for an interesting and very informative lesson. Btw, what is your recipe for the soap/water solution?
I thought my crepe myrtles cried a lot from root pruning, lol. It took about a month for them to start growing and stop being droopy. I had one that took two-three weeks longer than the rest to even firm up in the tray. I was worried i killed the four. i definitely thought that the last one would die.
Nigel. Question. Is the phenomenon in your area of some maples developing single helicopter pods that are pink? I just noticed that on a tree in my area with green leaves and 2 stories tall. I checked and it is being asked by many. Scientists think it is a combination of weather and climate change. Maple next door by me, the seed pods are tan, but this tree by the school developed pink. Single mind you, not double and not a red Japanese Maple. Might be a nice walk for you to check out.

I own an Tabulia also from South America. Looks exactly the same....the wood is hard as metal.
Nice tree!!
Wonderful lesson today. Thank you for sharing. Been awhile since I've commented but I watch daily.

Hi Mr Nigel great work as always. Absolutely love how this tree has developed over the years. Will make a beautiful tree in the future..
My favorite 🙏🏾
Just picked up my first BRT! So excited!
That is a great tree, Nigel. I love how all the branches radiate outward.
One of my favourite trees you have. Great job. Would love to find one of them some day to add to my collection.
This tree is really looking nice! Bursting with potential!
"Shall I prune these roots?" The answer is always yes 😉
Lol!!
Nice work on that Brazilian raintree. It's looking GREAT. Enjoyed the updates.

Beautiful tree❤
Nice wok on the Brazilian Rain Tree. I hope it doesn’t sulk. It should be thanking you. Cheers Nigel
It's starting to grow now with very little sulking this time!!!
The tree is beautiful!
Thank you!!!

I use liquid dish soap for hand washing dishes. 40 parts water to one part soap!

Great video! Question: Have you personally grown a peacock tree or mexican holdback. I have two I grew from seed. But I am having issues. Thanks

Hi Nigel, tell me please what feed do you add to your water & how much do you use ?
❤❤
What is your soil mix for tropical bonsai?!?
Selling tree seeds from brazil!
I've bought the same tree but I have no idea to shape it.
Check the playlist for this tree, it's in the description, I talk a lot about shaping them!!!
😍🌳

Hi Mr
Do you wire your trees?
