I'm watching your lupin series and i'm grateful because you're the only youtuber tha talks about these movies on depht, and i have a request: could you talk about the "italian aspect" of the series, because here in Italy the franchise is a very big thing and would like that more people knew about this via your videos thanks
That's definitely something I planned to talk about a lot regarding Part IV (for obvious reasons), but being a non-Italian myself, it's obviously something I don't know a ton about personally. Though I know it's huge in Italy and I will try to highlight that more!
Yeah I agree in saying that this special was a drag. I've only ever watched this one in full once but since I always struggle to get invested in it just because it fails to keep my attention
I have to admit that I completely forgot that this special existed at all, but I guess I wasn't the only one. Either way this was a great review which covered a lot of ground in a succinct fashion, at east things will be picking up a bit more pace with 'Voyage of Danger' coming up which is one of my personal favourites. Yeah the TV Movie era was kind of like Columbo. It was "Oh there's those characters I like and they'll go on a single adventure that, chances are, will be treading water." That's the TV movie era. You occasionally got something that could be awesome (Part 0 comes to mind) or something that was god freaking awful (Too many to list). And I thank GOD it's over. Okay, sure, Part 6 is kind of garbage, but I love that we've got new fans in and they don't have to suffer the TV movie era like we did. Great video man!
I LOVE Lupin, but honestly hadn't even heard of this one. Maybe if I'm bored I'll check it out, but I appreciate the warning. Same voice cast as most of the English dubs right? I might have missed it in the video.
I rewatched this special before watching your review. Pretty much agree with everything you say. It just doesn't stand out in any way. I ranked it 3/5 on my first watch. I enjoyed a few parts of it, in particular the interactions between Lupin and Zenigata. Looking forward to the next one. I have it as a bit better than this one, though at the moment I can really only remember parts of it.

Napoleon's Dictionary is without a doubt a Lupin tv special
The only notable thing I remember from this special is that Lupin the 2nd's design is like a mishmash of Green Jacket Lupin the 3rd and Lupin the 8th

Lupin II's design, seen in a flashback, looks a lot like the unused Lupin the 8th.

It think anything with Lupin racing is worth watching.
I have always been wondering, is our Lupin French?
I feel like maybe a dub script could help with the humor maybe but this movie does seem like a miss from the review even if it got tweaked a bit
Yeah this is probably one of the weaker specials.
