A true genius. I know what it's like to be a personality who's a bit lairy then gets behind the mic and everyone's going, "Go on then, do yer thing!" which is a bit tricky if you don't do singer-by-numbers. John was in an awkward situation with the Pistols when he first joined them and he really flourished as a great English eccentric with PIL. Good lad

“This i.S. PIL“ is an unbelievable brilliant album with an enormous amount of energy. It is so powerful and I was catched from the very first second. To me it feels like a kind of concept album though the songs are separated. But there is an flow of energy that's awesome. I simply love it!!!

John the livewire forever, sparking and arching over pumping, pulsating music. Well, it keeps you on the razor's edge and that's a great way to stay lively.

Without Wobble and Keith .... and probably Atkins on drums - it just doesn't ever feel like PIL. It's John and a bunch of muso's but it isn't PIL. What is likely lacking is tension ... personal tension ... John has always been at his best where there is something to kick against. Too many YES men ...? I somehow think so ...
He hasn't got the passion anymore to kick against now? He rallies along with the shitstem. A total narcissist. He had his fifteen minutes of controversy in the 70's.

The first 2 albums are the best. Keith Levine and Wobble are better. That’s all mates.
His vocals kill the tune. Very bad.
