They also believe that you roll your ankles over and tip your knees to put the skis on the opposite edges for a new turn. Now of that is true. Play this in slow motion and look for what I say. 3:02 He is balanced on his left ski, and he is allowing his upper body to go to the right with the turn. When he wants the skis to make a new turn, he stops the travel of his upper body across the slope and faces and leans down the hill while he steps from his left to his right ski. His skis continue to the right while his body is going to his left and the leg angle change happens. 3:03 He isn't tipping his knees to the left; his hip and upper body are going to the left which makes his entire leg lean over. 3:04 Notice his right leg is straight, longitudinally, not bent sideways or laterally. 3:05 His upper body is following his skis across the slope until he decides to make a new turn. Now watch everything start from his eyes down, not from his feet up like 99.99% of ski instructors will tell you. 3:06 His upper body is well into a direction change down the hill while his skis are just starting to change direction. The skis turning are the last thing to happen, not the first. 4:00 Even for this slow and vertical body turn, watch him anticipate the turn with the facing and leaning of his upper body down the hill. The last thing to happen is the skis turning. They turn because he has done what the skis need form him with his upper body. That slight lean down the hill changed the leg angle so the skis could be rolled over. "I want to go straight down the hill, get off my right foot and balance on my left foot."
I noticed Ted uses the Kore 93 in some of the shots. I have been meaning to upgrade from an old pair of Rossi carving skiis and was considering the Kore 93. Can someone provide me some insight into if these skiis will satisfy large fast carving turns. If its good enough for Ted then it should be just fine, right? Or are they just marketing the line? The local pro shop was mentioning that this ski has almost no camber and I might not like the relaxed feel. thanks.
I'm usually on a 68 underfoot race skis and not fond of fat skis, but the Kore 93's have been one of the only fat skis I've been on that I felt right at home on. I'm a fast, aggressive, carve heavy skier who's style has been inspired by racers like Ted, and they stunned me with how stable they feel for being such a light ski. I got to demo the Kore 87's coming out for next season and plan on picking those up; same deal, just narrower underfoot and I *think* a smidge more camber oriented. My only complaint about the 87s was, after launching off a headwall, upon landing I came to the realization I forgot to finish setting the rear DINs and proceeded to skid the next 50ft on my chest. They definitely have camber and can carve; the only truth in that "almost no camber" line is as they get fatter, they get more rocker particularly in the tip so the length and amount of camber tends to decrease. I'd get them longer because of the rocker they do have, though. I'm 5' 7" and normally on a 165cm FIS slalom or 175cm "cheater" GS, and I like the Kore 87 and 93 in ~180cm.
Ted used Head Kore 93 in the video because they are his go to skis for arcing turns in the groomers. Versatile enough to link two planks turns together with Antti on one plank as well.
Keep on watching this video time and time again as I am still trying to master carving. One thing I have noticed is pretty violent shake of outside ski (not only in this video), i would have expected outside ski to be loaded fully? Could you please explain? Is it a new kind of technique? Thanks in advance Could you please
Hi Igor, thank you very much for your comment and for your support! 🙏 The outside ski is the one with most of the pressure all the time. The vibrations you see come from the high speed of the turn on skis that are all mountain so are soft to perform well also in the powder.

Hi Merlin, thank you very much for your comment! We have had this concept and named it "Art of Arc" for many years and well before the release of the Salomon film. So we decided to stick to our name, especially because a turn can be a sliding turn as well, while instead the arc is the arc. Thank you!

There is a lot of freestyle playing going on not technically correct skiing, so he is on his inside ski a lot. That corduroy could be frozen also.
