Ms. Leena your shawl is gorgeous, and that First Light color is the chef's kiss, its so darn pretty!
Words that are used to hurt us cut down to our very core and so hard to be healed from when they are embedded into our minds. I carried so many words with me my entire life and am just now letting go of some of them. Its not an easy process especially when you have become one who believed those words. I always tell folks that I preferred getting the day to day beatings than hearing the hurtful, hateful, unloving, and unkind words that were spoken to me. I let those words mold me and because I did I was lost, hurt myself, and hurt others. Hurt people hurt people is a true statement. But thankfully I am learning to let go of those lies that I spent my life carrying with me, its by far not easy but it does get better. I remind myself each day that I am created in His image, beautifully and wonderfully made. The world sees me differently but thats the worlds problem, not mine. Learning to love myself is a day by day process.
Have a wonderful trip with your family. Praying for safe travels and looking forward to hearing all about it on your next episode.

Oh Adriana. I’m so sorry for all that you’ve endured. You are a strong and incredible woman, and the most important thing we can do is be the best person we can from this day forward. And you are doing that. Thank you for being an inspiration. Lots of love to you always!

Love your passion for colour Leena - I'm an Aura-Soma colour therapist and have spent over 20 years learning about colour and how it impacts our auras and can heal and support us. You are the colours you choose and they reveal so much about you and your gifts and talents in life. 🌈🌈🌈

Thank YOU for being YOU! I really needed something positive, so this made my evening so much better! I agree that joy and happiness would make our world so much better! I love color as much as you do, so it always makes me so happy to see how you put color together!! Your project bag is so pretty - it feels comfy to me and I love your shawl too!! Hugs from Texas!!

Oh Ms Leena, what a way to start my Saturday morning. A cup a coffee or two, time in the world, and prayer. Then followed by knitting while watching your new episode. Your shawl is beautiful! That first light is chefs kiss perfection.
I totally agree with just enjoying the process of knitting. I want the finished product but I can't be bothered trying to knit fast for it. Mainly because I'm the slowest knitter ever! I used to get so discouraged seeing others bang out so many projects to where I felt unworthy of knitting. But I enjoy it so much and just had to come to terms that we all are gifted with different skill levels and talents. So I take my time now enjoying each and every stitch created and if it is a gift knit I am usually praying over it for the recipient. That brings me joy.
What you said about words can hurt and damage us for years hit me so hard. It's true. I tell people that I preferred getting the daylight beaten out of me on a day to day routine than hearing the words that I still carry with me even to this day!! I'm getting better but it's not easy at all. Words cut deep down into our core and sadly we believe them especially when they come from family who is supposed to love us, it is the worst. We carry them with and let those words mold us. I was always told I was ugly, worthless, unattractive, hideous, unwanted. Yes I might be unattractive in the world's eyes because the world is so fixated on appearance but I know now that I was created in his image, that I am His beautiful daughter beautifully and wonderfully made. I remind myself of this everyday. The world is in a very dark place right now but I know there is good in it as well and I want to be on the good side that's for sure.
Sorry this was a long one😬
I hope you and your family have a wonderful time in Las Vegas. Prayers of safe travels and for health during your trip.

Have fun in Vegas! I can't wait to see your progress on the shawl after you get back. I am 100% with you on QE and GBBO. Both shows lift you up by showing the people in the shows lifting people up. There is too much tearing people down these days. You are right; it is so hard to parent in this current climate, and it costs zero dollars for people to be kind to others instead of trying to knock others down. I'll jump off my soapbox now. LOL! I was trying to think of books I enjoyed, and one that keeps popping up is The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. Might not be your cuppa, but she paints such a detailed picture of all of the parts of the night circus, that it is easy to visualize the wonders.
I have tried to have a sweater and a pair of socks on the needles at all times this year. Mostly so I can switch between when I need a break from the other. I took a break from knitting socks for about 10 years. No idea why, but I just jumped back in last year, and have been churning them out. Cheers!

+1 on the parenting skills. We need more children to be educated in this way. Better children lead to a better world. Just the fact that your son helped you on your yarn for the shawl probably means you’re on the right track (not that you need my opinion). I love these mother children times you have with them❤

Your shawl is also just amazing. I also thoroughly enjoyed the bucket of color and can’t wait to watch the shawl spring to life. Stephen West also has a sock make along!

What’s on my needles? I’m knitting my third basic two by two ribbed beanie. I made my first one last weekend and I’m also knitting a little headband so I am learning how to double knit and then I am going to make another headband with the yarn left over from my first beanie so I can learn how to do fisherman’s rib. I have also just finished my first knitted garment since I was a young girl, a tank top that taught me how to do the twisted rib and tubular bind off and the whole knitting in the round stuff.! I am very chuffed with myself.
I’m looking forward to seeing your painted shawl and the top you are working on when they are finished.

Loving your project colors i really like bright happy colors myself. I think your painted shawl will be beautiful ❤the only thing that worries me because of the white border color and so many different colors would be any bleeding into the border color. Definitely try the color catchers. Can’t wait to see your progress

Oh yes you are sooooo correct! Good idea! I have had a few bleeding issues but its usually very minor and only noticeable to me…but I will use many color catchers! Any that you think work particularly well? The Shout ones don’t work that great for me.

Beautiful soul, this is wonderful, thank you. I, too, raised my four kids on the show Queer Eye. We survived an extremely abusive, alcoholic man in my husband and their father. Queer Eye showed my sons and daughter how to be a good person, my 3 sons how to be good men, safe in our thoughts, knowing what we deserved in terms of self-love and peace. Your gentle way teaches me too because you are kind with yourself, honest with us, and willing to change your projects and yarn, etc. We are creators. Parents, friends, makers, readers, thinkers, givers, are creators and we can find solace in this hard world by rounding some of the sharp edges for each other. With love and fuzz, Samira Sperry 🧶🦄✨❇💖

Samira! Somehow this slipped through my responses but your comment touched me so much. I think of you every time I watch Queer Eye. I wish they knew your story, because I think it would mean the world to them. I agree with you 100%-I love the example those men are for my kids. That real men have compassion and empathy and are self-aware. They are a true gift!! I’m so glad you feel the same way about them!
Take good care, I hope you’re well and getting all the fiber love! 💖
