The best part of the rugby I saw was that final U.S. run to win the bronze. The second best part was the gold-medal winning Kiwis powerful haka after receiving their medals. Which to my knowledge NBC did not see fit to show in prime time.
Rugby Union is probably our 6th or 7th most played sport at this point. AFL, Rugby League, Cricket and Soccer are all much more played than Rugby Union at this point. More girls/women play Netball than any other girls/womens sport too.
@@delailama736 this isnt rugby union its rugby 7s - different rules 14 mins a game with only 7 playing from each team and USA is good at 7s like the aussie girls are - in fact most teams are on a par - the Irish girls won the cup in Perth 3 months ago beating the aussie girls who were number 1 at the time - completely different mindset and fitness level in 7s and this game is really more global as they have teams like japan brazil spain which are not rugby countries but represent their countries well at the 7s tournament every year

You can't expect the US to beat Australia at their main game. But they did better than I would have thought.
There's only 330 million people in the US, it must be hard for them to scratch together a team. 🙄
