I know me too! Her new ikea enclosure is so well made, I would love to learn how to do all the work she does. I don’t have space for tools like that right now, but maybe one day in the future I won’t be in a tiny apt!
@@RachelGotHamsters ikr?! I don't even know how she comes up with such creative ideas! My dad has a lot of tools, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to know how to use them haha!
Is this a re-upload? I could have sworn I saw this the other day, I watched a few seconds of it.... 😅 Great vid as always, can't wait to watch it through! Your videos are always very entertaining.
I've tryed washing sand before, and it takes a little while but it did get the sand clean (if it's dried properly)! The first time I washed it I let the sand dry outside in the sun (as it was summertime). That method worked good. But the second time I tryed to let it air dry and it took forever and started to smell, which I think was due to the fact that bacteria was building as the wet sand sat there 😝. I ended up dumping that sand. So definitely dry the sand in the oven or in the hot sun. I would also think that drying it in the oven would possibly help to disinfect the sand...? As that's what people do with children's play sand to disinfect it.
Oh! That a nice idea to use the 🌞 Sun! Hah yes even in the oven I find it can take awhile…. But agreed, using the oven is probably a good way to disinfect and make sure the sand is sterile!
It’s just an acrylic tray from Amazon, link to it is in the description :) I also recommend also adding a few hides or putting a cork flat over it to provide cover 🐹 😊
oh wow! That's so cool! I would love to start collecting things from nature more. For now I just try to reuse what I have so I don't have to be wasteful.
Personally I wouldn’t, it takes so long for the sand to dry in a high heat oven, if you wait for sun I think you’ll risk growing bacteria 🦠 or not ever fully drying the sand 🏖️!
My robo interestingly rolls around in his coco fiber instead of his sand it’s very odd lol he goes in his sand but won’t roll in it. Lol he only rolls in the coco fiber
I love Hammy Time's channel, I was so happy to see she posted yesterday!

Where did you find the sand box?
Also how often do you clean the sand? Seems weekly?

Hi 👋 Lisa from Wales! 🏴
@@RachelGotHamsters hi freind 😂
Can i use the sun to dry off the sand instead?

Ill try this but it’ll take forever as there is over 30kgs (about 60 pounds) of sand in my Robos enclosure!
Wow!! 🤩 that is impressive!! How large is your enclosure?
@@RachelGotHamsters I have one that is 165cm x 55cm (65inch x 21,5 inch) and one that is 130 cm x 65 cm ( 51 inch x 26 inch) 😅

Hahaha that’s funny! I’ve def seen my hams roll in their coco but I always just thought they got confused, maybe it was on purpose!
