  • Hugh Newman is the author of 'Stone Circles' (2017) and a contributor to 'Megalith: Studies In Stone' (2018). In this video he explores Arbor Low recumbent stone circle in the Peak District, Derbyshire, UK. It is a huge henge monument with a nearby burial mound and is part of a great 3-4-5 Pythagorean triangle linking it with Stonehenge and Bryn Celli Ddu in Anglesey, as discovered by Robin Heath. Includes exclusive aerial footage.

Hugh. You need to check out another place in Derbyshire that really hasn’t been discovered yet. It’s at a place called Mastin Moor nr Staveley. Formally called Slayley which is interesting due to the name Ley there is a massive Barrow - maybe even 3. Ive written to local authorities but to no avail. I’d love your take on it tbh.

Love this place, 21st June is the time to visit, to get in touch with your ancestors. "He who does not look back to his ancestors, does not forward look to posterity." Peace be unto you.

My local stone circle! Thanks for the stunning drone shots, Hugh. It is used for Pagan rituals by quite a few different groups.

Just mentioning the Ladies makes me grin and tingle. Check out 'The Old Stones' brand new book from The Megalithic Portal. It is my photo of Arbor Low in the book...

Minninglow is also worth a visit. You can actually see it on one of the hill tops in this video.

There is to be fair a very important part of the whole structure being absolutely ignored as if it is just some insignificant thing. See the line of two openings and you will see a significant architectural design not seen often in such sites (just to the right at the bottom of the frame). It is clearly as powerful and intrinsic as everything else. Stand upon it and see what the stones on the ground were pointing at! (Homer Simpson)

One of the most unspoilt henges in the entire UK. Equal to Mitchell's Fold or Nine Stones Close. The landscape hasn't changed since Neolithic times.

I have a googlemaps map of Arbor low Radials. it passes close to where i live at a place called Kex gill. Its a mystery to most locals why the road always has landslides its forever in the local paper to the point there finally redirecting the road this year. I knew what the problem was straight away but leylines are fairytales to sheeple lol

Instead of guessing, I'd rather hear nothing in regard to the whats, whys and maybes.
