I was just thinking that Kobun looks like an Outdoorsman lite when you broke out the heavy model, nice! That Ti-Lite is awesome too, love the new blade.
@@WeAllJuggleKnives I just received the "signature" Kobun today off Nozama. Funny thing is, it says 3CR13 steel on the website, AUS-8A on the box and S35VN on the blade. So what steel is it? Your guess is as good as mine. It was rather inexpensive, so I doubt it's the better of the bunch. :)
@@WeAllJuggleKnives 🤣I checked on Kn1f3Cent3r and that Kobun goes for $160 (not in stock), and I paid like €32 for this knockoff. It’s ok for what it is, but it’s not even a 1:1 copy, the tip ends in a slight hump back, when it should be straight all the way. The knife also rattles inside the sheath. I took a chance... and probably got a flawed second choice knife. I've seen this with other brands as well. Something went wrong during production. I can actually fix this myself. 😅
Great knife,,, I'm not buying knives at the moment,😢, but I'm glad I've already got the outdoorsman lite, which is very similar looking to this,,, Incidentally, I held off getting the outdoorsman lite for many years because I wrongly assumed it was "flimsy".. But it's a sturdy, cost effective knife,, All the best my friend,, 👍
Super weird ive had this for awhile and just sitting here with it and wanted to see someones review.. the first kobun was my first fixed blade i bought for myself when I was 18
Do you think the original and signature can both fit into the same sheath ? I have custom kydex for the original and the ability to carry the signature version in it greatly effects my desire to pull the trigger on one
I had the original Tanto version but the plastic clip sucked as it would loosen after the first unsheathing. They corrected it with the metal clip. I thought this knife is perfect for body guards who maybe can't carry a gun, as it is not only light but also slim under a suit.
As a Cold Steel fan and owner, I was disappointed when they sold the company to a generic retailer of outdoor goods. But interesting to see Lynn is still signing.
Ah yes, Cold Steel knives. i own 30 various Cold Steel products, from Knives to Swords and Tomahawks and Axes and even a spear. Oh and five of their large folding knives. My latest being the Espada XL in G10, with a 7.5 inch long blade, and yes it is a folding knife. And I bought it for self defense, and it does fit in my pocket. I have the Kobun Tanto with Americanized point. I also have a Recon Tanto from the 80's, made from Carbon V steel. But it is stored safely, since it is more or less a collectors item. If you like Philippine martial arts, you should look at the Cold Steel Luzon L folder, with the 6 inch blade. Much easier to carry then a fixed blade, and yes I have two of those.

Thanks for the tip!
Me too! I got #2664! What a deal. What number did you get?
Your latest Kobun is very similar to my Outdoorsman Lite.
LOVE the Kobun! So light and easy to carry, just drop it in my front pocket... I like the blade shape of that LT Kobun also! Great video too!!!
Love the blade shape and steel of the newest Kobun blade. Awesome.
Lyn actually signed the box? Cool!
Great looking Kobun, nice work on the video!
Thank you very much!
Awesome knife! Have a great weekend, buddy!
Beautiful blade.
That Three Bottle cut was so very clean😮
Glad you like!

Glad you are liking all the Cold Steel!
I like the Japanese tanto style signature version of the Kobun. Will keep an eye out for it. :) Did you customize the guard on your original Kobun? :)
Yes indeed.

Thanks, brother!
There is a lot of love in that Kobun!
For sure, I am all about love!
Team leader of meal team six 🍟 🍔 he goes hard af, at the drive through. 😋
He does. All these psychopaths have problems with self control.
This knife saved my life a time or two
Glad to hear it! I had a friend who was in the Marines and his D2 Ka-bar actually did save his life once as well.
I love the blade on the signature model. I remember your review of the original one. I cut off the top guard per your recommendation. Great knife!
Next they should make some sort of XL or master kobun.
@@WeAllJuggleKnives that would rock!
I got # 1729 ! Love it !
These are on sale now, a great deal!
@WeAllJuggleKnives where are they on sale at ? I bought mine at smkw for top dollar.

For sure, and we normal people have to be our own bodyguards sometimes :]
Man that is sweet!👊💀
Glad you dig it, Cold Steel rarely disappoints!

They own SOG and Camillus now, too. Hopefully they know what they're doing.

Yah Lynn is the man, but I'm not too afraid of him
Well haha he could cut me in half, maybe I block his blade
That is because you have no fear. I am very low fear low anxiety myself, too!
Everyone with a blade & intent is dangerous. How dangerous varies but dangerous none the less.
