Eddie is saying all the right things. He was hired to bring a lost-in-the-dark team into competitive form for the world cup. I admire his attitude and determination but, a coach can only guide a team only so far. At some point the lads on the field have to pull their thumbs out, yank-up their socks, fabricate a new way of facing fierce competition, work cohesively as a single unit, start making collective choices that put them in positive outcome situations, tap into their inner-mongrel, be relentless and unmerciful with their opponents and achieve results. They can do it but, they are going to have to have serious paradigm shifts and a desire to win beyond what they have now.

We tasted defeat several (painful) times in the preceding years leading up to now. Thats the point - we have had time to course correct and adapt. Aussie are on the down-trend now at the worst possible time. NZ are on the ascendancy after a 5-6 year decline. We will peak for RWC.
