I've been using the Light Phone II as my daily phone for about 6 months now but have been really missing my iPhone because of the camera and Spotify exclusively... this made me realize that with a little self control I can revamp my relationship with a smartphone
I have been waited for the smaller phone since years then finally replaced my iPhone XS by 13 mini. Its best phone i had ever, 5.4" is still big enough screen to write emails, posts on socials and watching YT videos or gaming. No more larger phone ever if possible. It lays in pocket perfectly no matter you're in work or on sport activities like running or biking, and completely no issues with battery working time - one day of very active up to two days when i am not using phone a lot.
Bro you're living the life I'd like to have. Truly inspiring. I've been working on living more minimalistic for quite awhile. I recently quit my job working at Amtrak because I was so miserable working one of those mind numbing jobs and got into another field entirely (IT). It's also mind numbingly boring but fortunately I get to work from home while researching what I want my next move to be. I've felt stuck for some time but watching your videos has given me some hope that moving away from the traditional life will still have it's own rewards. It's f*cking terrifying but little by little I'm cutting the chains that have been holding me back. It's such an odd feeling to move away from the traditional security net that society imposes on us (safe career, safe college degree, etc...) and yet you feel more free doing so. Your videos are amazing man. Truly inspiring! Hope to match your quality eventually. Still learning the ropes and actually found your channel when researching the difference between 24 and 30 fps LOL
Love it when someone tries to put a dent in the horrid phone culture that has taken over the world. Im a retired guy who doesn't have a cell. I paid 50 bucks for a magic jack hookup for 5 years and I have put the magic jack app on my iPad and iPod and I make and receive calls off these two devices. It only works with the internet but the world is so full of hotspots I never find myself without a signal. Sometimes out in public I swear I'm the only one not looking at a screen. Looks like you are in Ma. now and as a north shore resident this is a great place to live a minimalist life.

I have in the past week gone fulltime grayscale on my phone (apart from the odd use cases) and I have had such a productive week, and I have so much more time on my hands now I'm not wasting it staring at my phone. This is a long shot since this video is over a year old. But, how did you setup the shortcut to swap between grayscale and color with the triple press of the power button? Edit: I figured it out. Settings, accessibility, accessibility shortcuts, color filter on triple tap of the side button. Works great!! Thanks for the idea.
I can't believe I've only just founded your youtube channel! I consider myself to be a minimalist (I'm a Brit by the way). The issue with my generation is social media started becoming popular whilst I started secondary school in year 7, I'm trying to get of social media but really struggling to and struggling to try and keep my phone to a minimalist. Any advice on getting of social media or using it less? I've not posted on any social media for like 2 years but for some reason still find it hard to delete my apps and accounts.
You’ll get a little frustrated with the lack of customization, but if you implement the whole “eco-system” e.g. airdrop, iMessage, it’s worth the dumb apple stuff you cannot change. You’ll like it if you can get over the lack of customization.

With Android, you literally can make everyone balloon letters if you feel like it. But i'm not trying to use my phone more, so for now i could care less. But it is odd and kinda annoying to see blue all the time. I simply dislike the color blue.

I have a 29 yr old son in lower Manhattan , I hope he leaves soon too He is a signed model with Wilamina and so he travels all over the globe. When there's no modeling gigs Eli's got a live edge wood furniture making business so that's keeping him going however it's real slow . Rent & food is still expensive. He flew me down to visit , I went to watch him on a runway fashion show then on to an after party at Samsung with free drinks and a live DJ. It was exciting but that's all done for a while. The City that never sleeps is getting 😪 sleepy.

Then on page 1 I want to have the applications that I use daily but less often, and I will leave the rest of the applications in the App Library. Jeff, let me ask you, how are you liking the 12 mini now that your over a month in? I’ve already ordered the badass case from your brother so I can’t turn back now but I’m just wondering if you have any regrets....picking up the mini tomorrow. Any cons you have?
It’s a damn near perfect phone imo. what about this, what about that? Answer is... it’s perfect. You’ll be very happy and pumped for the case for you!!! It’s sooooo good! But seriously, i think I’ll be holding on to this phone for a good 4 to 5 years.
Pixel isn’t small enough. As well as the wide angle is wider on the iPhone. Simply those two factors. Trust me I adore android over iOS by FAR, but this year there isn’t a small android with a wide camera and a really great camera at that.

I just never put the apps on the home page. and i deleted most of my apps in general. i keep minimal apps on my phone all together. and i don't keep any on the home screen except the ones on the bottom dock-folder. Can you clarify what specifically you're not able to do, i should be able to walk you through it maybe.
Can you switch on and off grayscale on android ? Can someone help me with some advice ? I tried to to it combining tasker and almighty volume keys , but I couldn't figure out how to turn on/off grayscale .
So the way I used to do it on my android is I had it in the pull down menu. You know the main one at the top. You can long press and customize the shortcuts listed, and when you do that it shows extra buttons, pick greyscale as one of them. A quick google on (customize pull down android) should get you a how to
The paradox is that you (and so so I ) do t have social media on your phone and have a minimalist style to phone layout and use but that means we then use more device's to use social media etc and having those devices is not very minimal. Oh the first world problems that we suffer. Other than that nice video.
not really. there is resistance to go to the computer or take my ipad out of the drawer to go on social media. my overall use of digital consumption is probably down about 75% at times. I know i'm getting better when my screen time says i'm down each week. so no, it doesn't transfer to another device for me.

Grayscale is in the developer tools on Android. It's called monochromatic
