The Joe Meek Story

Fur trapper, mountain man, and Oregon pioneer Joseph L. Meek played an important role in the early history of the Oregon Territory -- and he often regaled listeners with stories of his adventures and exploits.
This filmed presentation meets up with Joe Meek in the early 1830s at the high water mark of the western fur trade. Join Joe around the campfire to hear some of his larger-than-life stories. These accounts, as "tall" as they seem, are based on some of Joe Meek's actual stories as he told them to author and historian Francis Fuller Victor near the end of his life.
