- Here's 7 realities of going on vacation with a toddler juxtaposed next to my childfree vacation in the Outer Banks, NC with my husband for our anniversary. I'm SO glad we're able to take childfree vacations and not deal with toddler tantrums and hiding from a sleeping kid lol.

Just break out with a fiancée with a 6 years old boy, and decided to be childfree for life. The kid ruined our trips completely, it was sooooo frustrating to travel with the kid. I was dreading the future with the kid around, then a teenager... had to get out the relationship. Never again I'll date a single father or someone who wants to have kids. Loved your channel!!

People who do want kids can stick together, and people who don't want them can also stick together, and that way ideally everyone gets to live the life that suits them and makes them happy. Not hard to understand.

My husband and I went to Paris a few weeks ago (we're from the United States) and we had a BLAST. We walked 10,000+ steps every day, ate at nice restaurants, day drank wine, and did whatever we wanted. All that would not have been possible with a child.
That sounds like such a good time!
I LOVED Paris! Spent the last 5 days of my month in Europe there (40th-birthday present to myself). I was even able to spend a day "doing nothing" (i.e., laundering my clothes, taking a walk near my hostel, writing postcards) instead of being all touristy.
I absolutely love museums, but they are often hijacked by small kids

It’s even tricky to be the “cool aunt and uncle” when your niece(s) or nephew(s) only have enough attention span to look at half the relatively small zoo and then have to go because they’re having a meltdown.
And then their parents are like, “well, let’s all go to a pizza place and they can calm down” and I’m like, “hell no - we never got to see the tigers or the aquatic exhibit and you want me to go to a pizza place with screaming toddlers now???”

Just got back from a family vacation where my boyfriend’s sister brought her 5 month old baby. She was not on vacation. She was taking care of her baby somewhere else. My boyfriend and I just booked a trip to Savannah, Georgia for next month and I was sitting there thinking about how nice it is to not have to consider how/if we’d be able to drag a kid along.

This just happened to me 2 days ago: i went in Slovenia with my mother, we went to a restaurant to eat and 2 kids started screaming and crying! Pure hell! Their cry is so annerving! Another reason why i'm childfree! Greetings from Italy!

I was on two different flights. Both flights the kids were crying for the whole two and a half hours. Second flight was at 1 am and people were trying to sleep…I was about to snap. Don’t bring your babies on a fucking plane for a vacation that you can organize elsewhere that is less scary for them and more relaxing for everybody on board who has to deal with it. Woman was also insulting her child all the way through the flight, telling her one year old not to put hands into her mouth because “he touches shit”. She also abandoned said one year old in the airport for going to the bathroom with no supervision and then got pissed off when said child started to look for her. Stupid parents.

@@clair8880 so many many people have kids even if they don't have the mental and financial resources to take care of them just because "you have to do it" or because of pressures from society and partners. We have to teach people, especially women, that parenthood is not an abligation and doesn't define them. Parenthood is not for everyone and It's not a bad thing for people not wanting kids, actually It's a sign of progress and responsability. Reproducing is actually selfish, even more if you abuse your kids.

@@LoveK1Also, there's no point taking little kids on holidays, when they're so young. I can't recall any family holiday memories, until I was at least 5 years old & my brother was 2 years old. Even though our parents took lots of photos of those holidays. I was too young to remember these. When I was 5, we went to a 'Lighthouse' & I remember seeing seals on the nearby rocks. This was my earliest holiday memory. 😊
That's one thing I really enjoy about being child free is when I go out for vacation with my husband it's just us or maybe a couple of friends and I don't have to babysit the entire time! I remember as a teen when my family used to go on family trips to the lake I was stuck all the time watching the little kids the whole time. I didn't even get to swim or enjoy myself very much at all.
I hate when parents use their teenagers as free sitters! It's so unfair 🤦♀️

I agree. When I was 12 & 13, I had to babysit our neighbours' 2 little boys, every Saturday night. I hated it, even though the kids' parents paid me, when they got home from being out for dinner & seeing a movie. This was their parents' 'Saturday Night Date'. Mum would come over to pacify the boys . They would go quiet for her, she knew how to talk to them & play with them. When Mum went back home, they'd scream again & wouldn't play with their toys ! Mum hated 'Abba'. I loved 'Abba'. I'd buy 'Abba' records, with my babysitting money. I had a portable record player in my room. I told Mum, "you expect me to babysit those 2 brats, your friend, next doors', kids."" I hate that. So you hate 'Abba', we're equal now !" This put me off having kids ! Hearing those toddlers, screaming, grated on my nerves, for up to 4 hours, every Saturday night. I was glad when my dad, got a 'Promotion', so we had to move to a bigger town. No more babysitting for me !😊

I'm so glad this channel exists. People need to know all their options. One of which being, being child free.
Can we talk about vacation with pup? We take him on all vacations that don't involve flights. He is a great traveler napping on the back seat the whole journey. And we have taken him on 8-9 hour drives! He is happy to sleep in his crate when we go out for dinner, he actually walks into his crate on his own and waits for us to leave. But during the day, he must participate in all activities! And we are so happy to do that with him! We focus on the dog friendly places. But who would want to go to the non-dog friendly ones anyway?

Lol I used to laugh at people who took their dogs everywhere....but now I have happily joined that group! My two minpins go everywhere with us!!! They're hilarious little monsters and make friends everywhere. The breed is notorious for not being kid safe...but these girls actually really like kids. Idk where I went wrong there lol!

@@GizelleAnahi my dogs are the best travel pups except for camping. One of my dogs HATES the camper. So we are selling it! She shakes the entire time she's in the camper. I think because it's a hybrid camper and she can hear the owls and other animals at night.
Honestly? I wouldn't want the places I go to be hostile or potentially harmful to dogs but I do prefer their absence. I can feel really anxious because of trauma involving a big dog when I was a toddler. So here's your answer to your question: I would like if there were some vacationing spots that don't allow dogs in.
Plus I've seen quite a few people who raise their dogs like they do their kids, in other words: poorly. That clearly not you but I'd prefer those people to stay out of my way.

I'm so relieved to find a CF channel that has the same views about everything as I do! It's like finding a new friend that I can be really honest with about my views. Except I don't need to as you say everything I want to say, but often can't because of company! Just spent 3 days at a festival, and each night after it kicked out at 11 we would hit all the bars and then do it all again the next day. People dragged their children along and often insisted about ramming their buggies or kiddie carts deep into the heaving crowds so their kids could ruin the experience of everyone around them, until it became too much and the kids risked being crushed and they would force their way back out again. Even late at night! 😤

I know how you feel ! Once a month, my 2 childfree friends & I have a 'Girls Night Out' at a local pub. Unfortunately, we didn't enjoy it last time, people took their kids to dinner. The parents ate their food, but let their kids run around the eating area, screaming & shouting,( even though the pub had put in a small play area,) in 1 corner, since we were there, a month, earlier. In Australia, the legal age to drink alcohol, is 18 ! Yet, pubs allow parents, with little kids, into pub restaurants. 😠. So we're trying to find a quieter pub, for our next 'Girls Night Out'.😐

I went on a work trip with many colleagues and their families. I had not known how many of them actually had kids. We had a train compartment reserved and although the kids were well behaved, but there was still chaos. I upgraded myself along with a childfree friend to first class and there was peace and quiet because there were mostly elderly people.
After the end, the parents were totally exhausted, they seemed like they needed a holiday.
Happy Anniversary y'all! My fiancee and I are celebrating 9 years by going to Busch Gardens in WIlliamsburg next week!

A few months ago, I was flying back home from visiting a friend in another state. I was checking my one bag, and on the kiosk thingy I noticed there was several options of things to check, one being a stroller, and there was also another option to check in a lap child. I remember being soooooo thankful in that moment that all I had to do was check ONE suitcase, which didn’t contain any items for a child, only the stuff that belonged to me, myself, and I. And I didn’t have to check a stroller or check in a lap child. Even if I had children, I wouldn’t do the lap child thing. Why would I want a child sitting in my lap on a 2 hour flight, in my personal space, and not to mention the possibility of said child having a diaper blowout in my lap at any moment? Yeah, nooooooo thank you lol 😂

In the tall beach chairs instead of a kid seat. And she wouldn't stop moving around, she's 3, and the chair tips over and she falls some 2 feet. She wasn't hurt, and her mom consoled her and all that. And everyone is looking at us, and on the inside I am hysterical. I am trying so hard to contain and not even let a smirk cross my face bc I would lose my composure. Internally, I was laughing so hard, and a feeling... satisfied. "
I love how people say, you can travel with your kids. The hell you can't. Listen I watched people with kids travel. Imagine having to try and put your baggage up and your kid is moving around and you keep calling them and calling them. Then when you reach immigration, imagine the kid running around when you giving the immigration officer papers and trying to get your kid at the same time. Oh and don't let it be a baby what got to get use to airplanes. Instant headache from the hollering. I remembered a trip I took a few months ago. I ask my mother when I was a baby, did you travel with me and if you say yes, how did you manage? She said it was a time when airports didn't have too much restrictions and she made sure she had everything that was needed. That and she didn't take the plane as much with my brother and I, she mostly did boats until we were older to understand
imo if parents can save enough money for a vacation, they can save a little extra for a nanny/babysitter to leave their kids with (unless this is a family vacation ofc)

I am going with my boyfriend to an all inclusive in Cancun with childfree spaces and I am very happy to be able to enjoy a fun experience with him to celebrate our very happy and long relationship in a place we enjoy because we can use our extra savings and extra time for traveling and enjoying each other, truly wonderful honestly.

I'm thinking it must have been a nightmare when my parents took 1 baby, 1 toddler and one just out of toddler age kid to attend my mom's brother's wedding in a different state (I was only turning 4, and my brothers were a 2 year old toddler and a 4 month old infant). But we also had a maid who came along. The first real vacation they took us on was when I was 6 and 1/2 and my brothers were 4 and 3/4 and almost 3 (so only 1 toddler). But we had our extended family and our maid then too. And we're Indian with parents who aren't afraid to hit their kids for misbehaving, so it wasn't so bad.

Looks like y'all had a blast and Happy Anniversary! We were in I guess South Myrtle (Garden City/Murrell's Inlet) about the same time. Last year, we were with my at the time 12 yr niece, it wasn't a vacation. This year, I hurt my knee before leaving still not much of a vacation. :-( Fingers crossed for next year.

Vacations are better when you can avoid others' children as well. I think that there may be fewer children on trains and buses than on planes. Of course there are no children in my car!
This is why my friends parents didn't go anywhere further than about 5 hour drive till she was 12. After that they went further and travelled by plain. I wouldn't travel with such young kids

Why on earth even bother with this with a toddler? Seems to me you're spending tons of money to do childcare in an unfamiliar place, off schedule so this kid is cranky and upset. I recently saw a commercial where 2 parents are going to Hawaii with 3 young kids and all their junk. Just why?? My vacation time is sacrosanct, precious, and limited. Thats why I refuse to travel with my mil. Thats a no fun and I'm not wasting time like that dealing with her.

Off topic Can you do a video on how much having a kid costs now with inflation/cost of living crisis. In the UK people will be getting massive 80 percent energy bills. Parents are moaning (understandly) that their heating will go through the roof, after all, they have several rooms, bigger houses, bigger cars, bigger food shops. They will have to fork out for new uniforms in September and the bills will go UP in October and another hike in January. It is is hard for us childfree in some case but having kids makes everything a whole lot worse. I bet many will start regretting their kids, already they are dumping animals because of the costs to feed them. Some of them cannot even live without a dishwasher as they have so many kids 'they need to'.

Your not wrong. When me and my husband went to Vegas when we still had the child whom should have never been. We left him at home with my parents 1. Vegas is really no place for kids to begin with. 2. Husband's birthday, we wouldn't have been able to do half of the stuff that we did had he been with us including the birthday spankings he received from the Heart Attack Grill Cafe where they ran a train on him. The entire wait staff lined up and took turns. He left town with a bruise the size of my face that lasted for a week. 3. My parents are the ones responsible for why we had the little monster to begin with so its only fair that they took him for us so we could do our not so kid friendly things. I feel that if I did have him with us no one would have had a very good time past random strangers trying to tell me how cute he is.

Children ruin everything! Vacationing with children is not a Vacation at all! It's so true. I remember last year when I went on a camping trip with my mom, stepdad, sister, and brother in-law, plus 3 nieces and a nephew! 3 of the kids were kids that my mother took so that their parents could have a break from them. The camping experience was very different from the year prior, that's for sure. We did almost nothing but hang out at the swimming area so that the kids could have fun. My sister and brother in-law's Kayaks were hardly touched and didn't really go fishing at all like last year, I was rather disappointed. Worse part, the kids were high maintenance. At the time, the kids that came with mom, stepfather, and I were 7, 4 1/2, and 3. My sister and brother in-laws child was 23 months, and the baby was the easiest at the time and the older kids were the worse! I can certainly say this, we were all overwhelmed with the kids by the last day. The three kids in question were somewhat high maintenance during that 5 hour care ride, asking when we would be there, and that sort of thing, they weren't bad at all but I remember being bored as hell because I had shut my phone off prior because of no cell service.
The camping trip was certainly about the kids than the adults who just wanted to chill. I couldn't even read my books properly because of the kids tattle tailing, complaining, or being loud, and I struggle with reading when there's a lot of noise.
Thinking of this, I can only imagine how I drove adults insane when I was a child, especially on camping trips and stuff.
If you want a proper vacation or trip, leave the kids at home with relatives, literally!

I am having a holiday 'at home'. My bf has reduced his working hours so we are just doing our own thing. We had a nice holiday in 2021 though. Even a 'at home' holiday reading, is nice, as no distractions from kids. I don't know why parents take their kids to exotic locations young kids dont appreciate it and the weather may be bad for them and they could get loads of diseases.
Yes! We usually do "stay-cation" in August and we thoroughly enjoy that as well!

I am so glad I work for an airline and whenever I travel on vacation I don't have to worry taking kids with me. I just have to watch out for my sister cause she sees I work for an airline and she wants to come with me but wants to bring her two babies. And I love my goddaughter/neice and new born nephew so much, but going with me on vacation no thanks.😂😂😂😂🤩

Not just todlers! Children in general and I speak from experience!! This past weekend my boyfriend, myself, his 13 year old and 10 year old sons went on a road trip to the valley.
FUCK ME!
All we did was cook breakfast, lunch and dinner for them. Played games with them. Outdoor activities with them(okay that’s not too bad)
After we were drained the kids were still running around the general cabin area, up over and around every chair, every couch, anything became an obstacle course.. and what does that lead to?? SOMEONE GETTING HURT, Duh!
So then you have to deal with “Ouchies” bandaid them, clean them. Okay more board games. Watch them argue and fight.
Then on the way back instead of enjoying the drive or vibing to music you get to listen too their phones on TikTok and RUclipsr gamers screaming because they died in the game.

Proof that vacation with kids is not a vacation: When I was 13 and my brother was 8, my extended family went on a trip to Italy on my grandmother's dime. My luggage got lost and was delayed by a day or so and it made me have a total meltdown because I was scared that my luggage was stolen and I'd have to wear dirty clothes all trip. Mom had to comfort me and couldn't enjoy Venice as much that day as she would've been able to without me.
Also, my brother made my parents buy him so many of those overpriced toys that scammers sell on the street that break immediately.
So like, it's not even all clear with big kids.
WHY would anybody RUIN a decent holiday by bringing the brats along? Being away from home just makes kids more annoying, if that's conceivable.
There are always screaming toddlers ruining my vacation even though im childfree.
Parent who want others to have kids is just bucket crab mentality with extra steps.
Another thing I wanted to ask to make sure I’m not alone and just a cold hearted freak is I get annoyed when women try to sit with me and talk to me about the greatness of motherhood and a mother’s love and the sacrifices they made for their children?
