Jeremy, stop worrying and apologizing about giving absolute answers. Its weed and it is going to have issues. I remember back in the 80s growing weed was way more of a stressors here in Cali. Cops , choppers, dumbass neighbors, the meter reader and 2 legged snakes were always on our minds. Your information is always on point for you, and that is the real gift of being a long term grower. Unfortunately, if it was easy to grow dank then you'd be outta of a job. I'm dealing with P.M. right now in my tent and it frustrates me, not mention but the caterpillars all but ruined my outdoor this year too . But, my love for this plant and the happiness I get from sharing my knowledge to fellow growers is what it's really about. Thank you, homie.

How is that working ? Always seems to hit right at the beginning of flower for me. So, everyday I spot treat with h2o2. I wanted to ask if anyone has heard of or has actually added h2o2 solution into their humidifier? I'm trying but at the moment the humidity is already an issue in my area..

@@bart.1411 using a humidifier is why you have pm.....anytime localized relative humidity reaches 72%or more you will have PM or other issues ......i suggest putting some distance between the humidifier and the plants to ensure the injected humidity has a chance to blend with the ambient air so you are not spiking localized humidity to achieve a standard relative humidity in your room. let the fan blow across the plants without the extra humidity before it mixes with the xtra humidity
and second i would suggest that if you must humidify ....use an ultrasonic humidifier ....the classic steam makers will give you PM because it doesnt sterilize the steam ....it contaminates it as its being made
Ultrasonic Humidifiers vibrate water into the air @ 60k oscillations per second .....this creates negative ions that actually sterilize the fog they produce and will not contribute to your PM issues like a traditional humidifier......... cheaper ones are often sold as fog makers for halloween decorations
H2o2 will go inert very rapidly ...it will lose its oxidation power very quickly if heated ...but it will kill a lot of stuff growing in the humidifier tank and should not evaporate into the steam like chlorine would ...but i dont think it will sterilize the tank completely ...worth a shot especially if you got some good H2o2.......Cannot let humidity get above 70% @ the leaf or Pm can set in.....
Neem & Karanja oil can also prevent PM

Terps, flavor, health are all finally where I've been wanting it at and have been looking for. I feel like I've been missing this style of growing my whole life. Wished this was the only way I learned how to farm from the beginning. 15+ years of farming and I'm just now understanding and utilizing these full organic inputs. @@odin5665 I do not have any PH issues. I always learn and understand about the inputs I decide to use and I kinda make my own rough balance when I mix things up. I do use a lot more biochar than Jeremy recommends. Biochar is on the alkaline side so maybe that's what fights all my acidic KNF inputs. But then again, The acids and microbes that come from these inputs will usually start becoming neutral as time passes. When microbe activity is high breaking down all the matter, carbon, etc, you will have an acidic enviroment until that calms down alil. I dont even use dolomite. I do use OSF though and i go heavy with it. Hope that helps.

So I just found the build a soil grow videos this past week. For a guy who wants to grow organically in soil... Maybe no till... These are seriously some of the best informational videos on RUclips! Most people don't have a 10x10 grow tent, but the way you are doing the grows, breaking the tent up into quadrants, it really breaks it down so any home grower can adapt your guidelines and ideas to their own personal grow area. Please keep it up and keep up the variety. Me personally, you have inspired to order some earthboxes. I love the ease of use and watering... I still think I'll have a grow bed eventually but these earthboxes look awesome.

In an earthbox how often should we realistically be adding Rootwise in bloom? Are the microbes reproducing in that nice always moist earthbox leading to us not needing to add more as often? Thank you love the info and open source approach to growing

    • @jeremyschissler337
      @jeremyschissler337 2 года назад +8

the bacteria are being cloned by the root tips so there is no need to keep adding it .....plants cant clone fungus tho .....they can only reward it with exudates ....so you need to supply it with fungus if for some reason the fungus you previously added isn't surviving .......moving fabric pots can disrupt the entire mycelial network of a particular species of fungus in the rootzone so avoid disturbing the soil if you can. keep in mind that the idea isn't to force feed it a bunch of organisms ...the idea is to let the plant decide what fungus it wants to be friends with .....like introducing your kid to a bunch of other kids and asking him ...so which of the other kids do you think will help you grow the best and then giving them the invite with the exudates. once you have introduced the fungus let them do the thing.
as for the mulch layer ..that is entirely different .....this is where you are the farmer of bacteria and fungus and use them as cultivators and enzyme makers that break down amendments that release fertile stuff into the soil as you water it ....and where worms can pull it down as they get hungry. ...this gives the ability to be amending with ingredients that complement your needs based upon the plants needs of its cycles.....
most people have fallen victim to the market pushing the bacteria products and don't have any protozoa or fungus in their root zones to eat off the excess bacteria and complete the food chain .....worms are a big part of this too
rootwise should not be needed but like 2 times in a short cycle plant......once to start with so its established relationships with fungus can start and it can start cloning bacteria to grow its tips ....and again at bloom to increase the numbers of phosphorus fixing species .... RootWise offers a separate product that is specifically for the bloom cycle because the plant will automatically start rewarding a different set of species to meet its needs and its a great idea to go ahead and bump those colony numbers up so it can build its network of fertilizer mobility highways

The science is you can use green light (must be dark, diffuse and preferably indirect), for short times without triggering flower. However direct green light can cause growth for prolonged periods in some strains. As mentioned the plant actually does use green light if it has it. Green LEDs are great but too bright without diffusion.

While entering a flower room while plants are sleeping isn’t ideal, it’s still wise to have green light available in the rare event that someone may need to get in the room.
For example, if an important sensor is going off leading the cultivator to believe that there’s a malfunction or a severe issue that they need to take care of.

I have seen the light itself cause problems (reveg, stretching, stressing). But even when the light is used sparingly, defoliations and other work don’t get done as well cause the people can’t see.

Now I have some questions/concerns for the next FAQ, I was leaning on going the 10x10 tent route, but for me it makes more sense to go with the high plant count in a bed with a quicker flip and more harvest per year, but it seems so intimidating to have a 5x5 tent with a 4x4 bed and 9 plants in it! Will it be more difficult to maintain and tend to the garden with that many plants and not a lot of space to move around? Will there be enough space for a humidifier, fans, carbon filter etc?

Basically the concept is that you can put your bare(foot) body (living things) to the earth's soil and the earth's Electronic current has healing properties. Im not an expert but its modern devices that you can hook up in your house to your bed that has plenty benefits but also can be connected to other things like indoor plants. Hey love your content, as always! I wanted to ask about RO water. I’ve heard people call it “dead water” and say that it’s not good without mixing it with some minerals or other water. My question is: it is really all that bad? I mean, if I buy some good soil where it has been tested for everything, wouldn’t it be a bad idea to potentially be putting in other variables? I have well water and RO water, but the well water leaves white residue on the top of my soil so I stopped adding a little to my RO when I water. Seems to be fine so far. Thank you!! 🙏🙏🙏

Loving the videos and great information! Ordered way too much from Build a Soil the past couple months but impressed everytime with the high quality ingredients... My question is on making Rosin. Is there an effective alternative to using a freeze dryer during the process? Think Pedro said "good luck" if you didn't have one but was wondering your thoughts. Thanks!

I worked for a licenced producer a few years ago on the maintenance team, the night shift would do work on a very few select rooms with lights that had green film out over them, these few rooms were notorious for going back into veg. They scrapped the green shades and left the rooms alone afterwards. Just my 2 cents.

Green film is not good and isn’t a green light. It’s still emitting red and blue spectrums
A true green led or fluorescent light only emits the green spectrum

Supplemental lighting vs photoperiodic lighting, supplemental is like when a greenhouse grower uses the sun and also had some lights to increase the total DLI, the photoperiodic lighting is very very small intensity that farmers can flash on to make a night shorter to make sure a plant won’t flower, or flower. My point is supplemental lighting can be as little as 2 ppfd compared to supplemental is more like 100 ppfd

Late reply, hopefully you see this RE green light but you can read the study "Do changes in light direction affect absorption profiles in leaves?" by Craig R. Broderson and Thomas C Vogelmann. It features micrographs that pretty clearly show green light penetrating the leaves twice as far as blue or red light. Green seems to be the worst possible colour light to use if you were going to look at your plants after lights out.

Fish bone meal top dress flowering week 2-3ish for “gassy” terps. Trust me ;)
Ok, I recognize I’ll probably have to explain further. There are lots of different organic fams out there, and I’ve been about as deep down the Nectar for the Gods rabbit hole as it gets.
Some Nectar-heads have established that different kinds of bonemeal tend to bring out different terps. The owner of the company, Scott Ostrander, is on record saying he’s worked with farms that run Nectar that have run labs on terps and find that a few tactics (some extra sulfur, specifically in the form of calcium lignosulfonate during week 2-4, or fish bone in mid to late bloom, or sugars derived from milk mid-late bloom) would all enhance specific terpine profiles.
I only use Nectar products extremely sparingly in a living soil grow, but occasionally I’ll play around with these approaches. And I’ve found the fish bone one to be totally legit if you want to enhance the gas.

Im currently growing Mango Skunk in the Earthbox and every other watering I like to top water the soil with "organic" liquid Nutrients from FOOP. I seem to have watered a bit too much this time and now I have nutrient runoff in the reservoir. How long before the run off in the reservoir goes bad from being stagnant. Would you recommend I run some air down in the reservoir with an air pump? If so do you know of any small air pump that is quiet enough to keep indoors and that won't keep me up at night.

Hey Jeremy i already asked a couple of times, but ill try it again.
I saw that the lights you use are plain white LEDs. We' ve all seen the results and they are crushing it. Anyways I'm really interested on your thoughts concerning light companies adding different wavelengths like 380,450, 660 and 730 nm due to their distinctive effects on the plant at it's different stages of life. Do you think that your results could improve using UVA/UVB and the 660/730 mix for enhanced Emerson effect, and if so why aren't you using it? Thanks for your content, love your spirit.

I only use green light if I forget to lower the temperature and humidity levels before night night time. It's kind of hard to do that automatically in a small grow.
They go to sleep in veg at 10pm and I've had wifey time since 9p and it is now 11p. I'm like... dang so much fun but now I have to put them to sleep with the green light.
In flower which will be in a few days, they will be on a 8a to 8p light schedule, so it should be less of an issue.

Would it be best to keep it set at 55%. Or should i maybe have it set at 60% and use it in conjunction with my ac infinity exaust fan/controller?
