What a tribute to Mr. Chase (Parrott), who is forever a darb! And, thanks, Dave, for the tireless reconstruction work that allows us to enjoy these priceless films as their makers intended (or, darn close to it!).
Charlie was a great comic and actor. 1893 to 1940. Charlie died of a heart attack. He was drunk almost every day and suffering from depression. Charlie's brother James died in 1939 from using drugs. Charlie never got over his brothers death. He started drinking more and working more. But he never recovered from the death of James. Charlie died in 1940. Such a sad end to a great man and comedian
OMG! The piano gag in the restored footage is hilarious. Thank you for this!
This was a delightful short. I love the payoff at the end.
Cheers Rob. It's a goodie for sure.

Thanks for being so supportive Kathleen :)
The short is wonderful but don't ignore the adorable and underappreciated Martha Sleeper as Charley's girlfriend!
Top class stuff Dave. Thanks for making this available.
Cheers Lordy.
Thank you for this! (and all of your uploads:))
My pleasure Steve. Just trying to keep everyone happy!
For those familiar with the film who are specifically looking for the extra footage - there are two scenes: 1:21 - 2:02 and then at 4:48 - 5:12
