  • With this 3 liters and 6 cylinders MG C (1969) I drive over the Healy Pass on the Beara peninsula in Ireland (Co Kerry and Co Cork). I made this for my grandson who is completely mad about cars.

We will certainly have that pint at Helen's. Not before, but after we have done the Healy pass...
I don't foresee any problems with getting your MR2 street legal. Probably you have the wheel at the left side but that is no problem. The only thing is that with a left wheel, you pay some extra insurance money and you'll have to adapt your front headlights.
BTW: where are you going to live in Lauragh? Did you buy the house near Josies Restaurant? That's not far from where we live.

Pints after the ride of course. Yes, it's a LHD and I am working on getting the headlights but there is also the bigger motor and the race headers so I hope I can pass mot.
We bought the little yellow cottage from the German guy (Gerry or Jerry) close to the art gallery. It's nice around Josie's, very green little valley.

@@tobihopmann7232 Hi Toby, about halfway Lauragh-Ardgroom there is an art gallery at the left side of the road. I will pay attention, perhaps I will see the yellow cottage. Are you going to Iive there permanently? It probably has beautiful views of Kenmare river. I would say, keep me posted about the developments. We certainly should meet after you have moved!

@@evertvanwijk we sell our houses and move there for good. Lori is American and I am actually German. The house has the view over the bay and is maybe 5 or 6 houses past the gallery. You just use your house as a vacation home right?

@@tobihopmann7232 I will have a close look when I pass by next time and I will let you know if it is still there... ;-) . We bought our Irish house as a holiday house 7 years ago but the plan is moving permanently to Ireland in the course of next year. We are awaiting planning permission to build an extension to the existing house. We are Dutch. I still have a business on my own, but I am in the process of moving from the fast to the slow lane. Right now we are living partly in Ireland and partly in The Netherlands, but we will definitely move to Ireland in 2022.

We are going to retire in Lauragh in May. I am looking forward to do the Healy Pass with my Toyota MR2 Roadster.

Hi Tobi, your Toyota is quite a rare car. Drop me a line when you are around. Perhaps we can do the Healy pass together

@@evertvanwijk I would like that and maybe finish with a dark one at Helen's. We are bringing the car from the US so I hope it will go smooth to make it road legal. I am sure your 6 Zylinder MG is more rare than mine, I like the blue.
