    Great video. I had a Seagate Freeagent Goflex drive that would light up when plugged in, but was not being recognized by my computer (on multiple computers). Tried a different USB cable, but narrowed the problem down the the USB/Sata connector. I scoured the internets and could not find a replacement for it. The problem is that the usb/sata connection is sunk deep in the casing so other adapters cannot reach it. However, once you get the plastic shell off, you can just run it directly into your computer, if you have a power cable slot and Sata connection/cable. Once I connected it directly into my desktop, the computer recognized it.
    TLDR; Good luck finding an OEM adapter. You do not need to buy an adapter if you have the hookups for the drive in your desktop.

      Take the drive out and use a different enclosure.

      Or buy another same drive and use the adapter on both haha

    Hello! I have the exact same trouble. Any link to where I can find the Anker USB 3.0 to Sata Adapter you are using? Or even the replacement for the seagate original connector? I am in Canada. Can't find either on amazon. What exact specs should I look for in other brands? Please help!

      Technically any 2 5" sata to usb adapter will work. I'm not sure of the thickness of the drive, but you can use these as well amzn.to/3whfJk0 2 5" SATA USB Enclosure.

    Hi. My issue is is that I took off the plastic case and connected my hard drive to my pc. Only the one light comes on. But when I plug it in, you can hear it whirring and I see all the lights flash. I didn't take off the metal case yet or try a new adapter yet.

      @@ItsBinhRepaired only the plastic case is off. I didn't unscrew the four screws that hold the metal case on yet. I just plugged it back into the original adapter just to see if anything different would happen. I will take the four screws off and remove the metal case later and maybe order a different adapter.

    I cant believe you said in your video "Dont use Drive SDavers" and then say to use Drive savers I have a link.
    I have personally used drive savers and each time I have gotten 100% restoration. I am surprised that you did that, and you should reupload your video and fix that. your video was helpful for people till you said that and I thought wow not a cool thing to do to companies that actually give you a KICK BACK for sending them work.

    • @ItsBinhRepaired
      @ItsBinhRepaired  7 месяцев назад

      Don't use drivesavers... they charge way too much. They give a code to give me 20% kickback and people 20% discount if they use the code. Even if I gave the 20% discount for a 40% total, they'd be way more expensive than the alternatives. 300dollardatarecovery.com is way cheaper and will also recover the data. There's one local to me as well and charges less, but 300dollardatarecovery.com has been the best.
      I got a quote $500-1500 from drivesavers and after sending a drive, they quoted $1800. I wonder what the $500-1500 range is for...

    • @ItsBinhRepaired
      @ItsBinhRepaired  7 месяцев назад

      Oops, I meant to say use 300dollardatarecovery.com, not drivesavers. I don't recommend 300dollardatarecovery.com because of the kickback. Go ahead and compare the places, and you'll see drivesavers isn't worth it. If I recommend drivesavers, I'd get way more than what 300dollardatarecovery.com would give me, and people have no incentive to use 300dollardatarecovery.com other than if it's actually better for them because there's no benefit to saying I referred them, other than knowing it helps me as well. Again, take 40% off what drivesavers costs and compare the price.

      I pulled the drive out of the box and tested with another adapter. Usually more than 50% of the root time the adapter is the issue.
