I have the BRCA2 mutation and have had an oophorectomy and alternate mammogram and MRI every 6 months. My question is: I currently take estradiol for the surgery induced menopause, but I am told not to take progesterone because the combination of the two (estradiol and progesterone) is the real cancer risk for cancer. How can I find out more about what hormones are riskier to take with my BRCA2 mutation. (My sister has BRCA2, PMS2, ATM, and CK2 mutation, and she just recently had double mastectomy. We have lost 3 female relatives from the BRCA2 mutation and female cancers.)
