    Thank you for this video. Your video has helped me a lot with connecting my H4N pro with a Samsung S8, though it won't record the sound from the h4n on my phone.
    The recorder app on my phone just shows a straight line, so there is no audio being registered. When I unplug the jack cable from the h4n output port and touch the cable with my finger, then incoming sound is registered by the recording app on my phone. So the splitter and cables seem to be working fine. When I then replug the jack into the output port on the h4n, then my phone comes with a popup which says "complete action using" and I can choose "Google" or "Bixby Voice". When I then select the "Google" option, then it stops the recording and when I start the recording again, I'm back at square one.
    Searched on internet already but can't find a solution for this, so was hoping that you maybe have a tip. I will be so happy if I'm able to record video's with the h4n as an external mic 🙂

    I am trying to understand how to film a video from my phone, where the sound is not from the phone built-in mics, but from the H4n. So that I won't have to sync it later. Is this method going to work?

      Hi Kostas, with our experience, this could work for some mobile phones and not others. What we could suggest is if you have a free return service for the new pieces of stuff that you want to try, it's better to try first and see if it works for you or not. Out of the 5 androids we have, 3 of them are working fine with this method and all of them are quite new devices.

    I found the presentation quite confusing. I’m trying to play a song on my iPad and hard wire a connection to my zoom to record it for greater clarity. It wasn’t clear who was your audio source here, the phone or the H4n? I’m a musician and need the clarity to transcribe the song into sheet music

    Will this set up work for tiktok livestreaming? I tried the tascam and it only had mono sound , not stereo. I also couldn't monitor the sound on tiktok. Also, couldn't you just plug the headphone into headphone jack of the h4n? I have a samsung s21 and it doesn't have 3.5mm , just type c so will I have to use a type c to 3.5mm adapter, then put the splitter on top of that?

    • @TuneInsiders
      @TuneInsiders  2 года назад

      Hi Chimney, thank you for your question. With Samsung S2, I believe with Tiktok it will be difficult to make it stereo as I don't know if TikTok could configure that kind of advanced setting on Audio. Yes you could use the zoom headphone to monitor it, but TikTok has its own volume control setting which I believe is not open, make sure it is not too overloud for live stream, I had experience with Instalive and it boosted my volume automatically. The best way to monitor is to use another account while you are doing the LS. But if you want to make an advanced setting, try to use a USB C dongle with USB A input for zoom audio interface, it works more stable from my experience

    • @TuneInsiders

      Hi yes you can try to connect via USB and make it as audio interface with 48kHz setting for most of the middle high phone. Usually when it works it will said youre using an external microphone. It works depends on your phone system, usually it works fine with Samsung or middle high phone. If it doesnt work, then splitter is needed. Hope this help

    I am having trouble connecting H4n to my Galaxy S10. I purchased a few different splitters and they all work very inconsistently. • @TuneInsiders
      @TuneInsiders  3 года назад

      Does it always stop when you playback the recording? From our experience, only play the recording without any splitter plugged in it. If you are using USB audio card, use the pro mode video, and choose usb mic as audio source.. Let us know how things going on. Thanks for watching!

      @@TuneInsiders I did playback after disconnecting because I figured it wouldn't play with the 3.5mm plugged in. Once I plug it back to record again, it never connects again. I would say it randomly connects less than 5% of the time. I tried many different splitters and 3.5mm cables, but I just can't seem to get it to work. Would the USB audio card be a more reliable method?

But of course different device and system could make big different. We tried also with sound card USB and it seems work well with the video as long as the phone noticed the usb or exterdan microphone. We can't guarantee 100% as we have different device, but it might worth to try, just dont spend too much money where you can't refund it when it doesn't work. Thanks for writing to us

    So how this works for you? let us know in the comment section below. AFTER MANY COMMENTS WE DO MORE RESEARCH ON WHY MANY OF IT ARE FAILED.
    1. The android phone is not for an advanced solution: don't use a USB audio card, or a cheap splitter, use the "Y CABLE" (mike and audio) splitter at a medium price. We have tried many more devices to make sure this could work
    2. For an advanced phone with pro mode (ex Samsung Galaxy 10 above), you could use the USB audio card and you could also change the source of audio in the pro mod, if you could not do that, back to number 1 recommendation.

      I will do some experiments when I receive mine. The most remarkable point is if it sums up both mics to mono or neglects one of them.
      In this case a stereo to mono adapter will do it.
