Uriah is so introspective man. His ability to talk with you and have reflective answers is beautiful.
He really has a gift for communicating I don’t know where it’s going to land but I’m here for it
@@BeleafInFatherhoodAnaya too. In fact all of them do communicate well😊
🥹Theo’s support for Uriah is so sweet. Just listening to all the chocolate babies being expressive of their feelings is comforting & Anayah’s dress is Everything!!! 💁🏾♀️
That was my favorite part while looking through this footage
😂😂
It was the emotional intelligence for me❣ Riah articulated himself so well as he reflected on his hockey experience past and present❣ Theo really is the best big brother the Chocolate Babies could ask for❣ Anaya makes me smile❣ Okay dress❣
PSA: THIS is how you raise happy, healthy children ♥️🖤💚
Thank you for the affirmation
talking to your kids like equals and like they’re grown in conversation is huge I will definetly do things like this when I have children
"I'm just gonna teach them to not underestimate me." That kid's a go-getter. It's so cool to see them at this age, too.
Can’t quite articulate how amazing it is to see fully Black kids do things like this. This family does not limit their kids by saying “This is white people s**t.” or “Black people don’t do that.” Your kids are playing hockey, a white dominated sport, with great confidence. They’re being homeschooled so you can have control of their education. You show them a lot of love and empathy so they know how to treat people when they grow up. Idk, this family makes me happy. I love seeing Black people live high quality lives. Not everything is hood, rap and basketball. You can love your culture and show off your Blackness in other ways. And this family proves it.
Wow...well said
I agree 100%, just love what is said
Whilst as a parent it's understandable why you wouldn't want to let your child quit. I think there was a valuable lesson for Uriah to understand the implications of quitting. He learnt that the decisions he makes can impact his growth. In the long run, if he was forced to continue Hockey the lesson wouldn't have hit the same. I think he'll have a new sense of perseverance and accountability after this. You're doing a great job Beleaf
Theo whispering "don't give up! don't give up!"... the sweetest. he is crushing big brotherhood. Parents yall are doing a great job and Go go GO! Uriah Beau!!
This was one moment that gave us real joy!
That was heartwarming 😍
I just want to say you and your wife are tremendously amazing parents. The way your son is able to clearly articulate his thoughts is a testament to his upbringing. He recognizes the value of pushing through adversity and not quitting but knowing he needs your help in this area. What self-awareness and maturity ❤ Great job you all! May the Lord continue to guide and bless your steps. ❤
Thank you for this affirmation. Early on I thought he wouldn’t be able to work pass his struggles but time has taught me that some people get it later than others
I love how you poured into your middle child. They’re often forgotten
I think they have 2 middle children🤔
@@BeingisdWord and he pours soo much into both
PLEASE MORE VIDEOS OF THE HOCKEY PROGRESS FOR BOTH OF THEM 😩🥹🥹🥹 seeing Theo score that goal had me tearing up
Me too ♥️🖤💚
Theo practicing hockey skills
@@BeleafInFatherhood he’s a natural! Wow can’t wait to see how much more he progresses over the years! 🥹
I just love how these chocolate babies can articulate themselves so well. This is what we need to see more of in our community. I love it mom and dad! Keep up the good work.
Hate is a strong word. I don’t think any of your kids will hate you for pushing them. They may be frustrated and upset but they won’t hate you. Give yourself credit. You’ve been doing your thing as parents. Good Job!!!
It’s hard not to compare yourself to your siblings but you have to realize that everyone is different and has different strengths… keep trying Uriah. You’ll find your thing 🫶🏾
It’s the loving communication for me! ❤ Uriah did a fantastic job of telling you how he feels. It’s great to see him and Theo playing Hockey! It was sweet to see Levi too…they are all growing up. ☺️☀️
Glad Uriah decided to try out again and made the team!
This just warms my heart to see how much effort and focus you all put in your family and how you all are taking the time to sit down and speak with their children to have these conversations. Many children don't get the opportunity to have their parents or caretaker to take the time to speak with them. This is setting an example of how you can raise assertive children who are happy and are able to overcome their anxieties and worries because you all are giving them the skills and platforms to do so.
I believe that all children are deserving of loving and caring parents. I hope people watch these videos and learn what it takes to be caring, loving, and supporting parents.
I don’t know why this episode made me emotional! I love seeing these chocolate babies grow up!
Question if a white person says a similar thing in reverse why is that hated on or not acceptable? Every race can be proud apart from whites it seems ...... mmmmmm
Uriah will eventually come into his own. Once his confidence and stikability are up, there will be no stopping him Go Uriah! Rooting for you mate💪
LETS GO RIAH! This is a dope video. I was shocked by how articulate Riah’s analysis of his emotions were. I admire you guys as parents for giving them the vocabulary and permission to feel. Riah B(r)o, we’re proud of you fam! Shoutout to Theo too for being such a supporting brother in Riah’s process. This was awesome to watch.
As a black guy that played hockey for 14 years, I seriously think more black people need to try the sport.
I’m not a parent but I’ve always loved watching your family! I was smiling the entire video as if y’all are my family. I love the growth in Uriah and the support of his siblings
I am crying watching this video between my inner child being soothed and the beauty of black fatherhood.I love it over here!❤
Anaya saying "how do you feel?" to Theo & Riah melted my heart
🥺
You and your family are wonderful but the way little Uzi was doing his boxing. Love how you communicate with your children. Thank you for sharing.
When I was 7 I asked if I could have piano lessons. My mum sorted it and I enjoyed it at first, but I got bored and didn’t want to practice. I wanted to quit and my mum said to me “you decided to do this. You committed to it so you will do it for 6 months. If you still don’t want to do it then, then you can quit.” I did and I quit. She talked me through all of the implications of quitting, including that the teacher had set aside that time for me and invested into my learning too. Later I learnt trumpet and studied music, I pursued it in different ways - but that lesson always stayed with me.
It’s a balance, but I totally agree that you are doing what is best for them to set them up for success. And they will be thankful for it. And I think the way you talk to them and explain it to them, they won’t hate you
This channel is a blessing 🥲. It’s so beautiful to hear every child articulate their thoughts. Looking forward I can imagine the chocolate babies reminiscing that you pushed them gently enough to build character, resilience and grit. Years to come they’ll remember. We are taking notes Glen and Yvette. Thank you sharing your experience with the community.
Greatest black hockey players. Making me proud
This conversation is the most adorable most precious thing ❤ these children are gonna grow up with the best hearts!
This was such a beautiful episode, and such a beautiful family. The way you guys communicate and introduce healthy expression and listen is inspiring. It shows even when the mama expressed her concerns of competitiveness and keeping it in heart without too much more. being aware, but still listening, concerned without projecting, expressive but not overbearing.
Fun fact: The Colored Hockey League of the Maritimes precedes the NHL by 20+ years.
I admire the way you converse with your children and aspire to be the same as a mother one day. One question, if he ends up hating boxing, is there an alternative sport that could provide the same techniques but in a more enjoyable way? Love watching your family grow; thank you for allowing us to be a witness to parts of the journey.
Good morning lovely people. Have a blessed day! Many blessing to you Beleaf, MrsMel and the Chocolate babies!😊
Same to you!
5:54 was that Theo saying don't give up? omg my heart
Yes!
This video hit me in my soul. My 5yo son gave up on his first season of hockey. The kids were bigger ,faster and more skilled than he was and he never caught up. He stopped playing games in the middle of the season. By the end of season we couldn’t get him out of the car at the rink. I really struggled with how much I should be pushing him. This video gives me hope that this season experience does not determine his future successes… and what he needs is supportive parents. Thank you so much for sharing.
I remember the bike teaching struggles, and the moment where he wanted to keep going was so heartwarming. This is another milestone in the growth of this family, and knowing that you're gonna love them through their desire to quit so they come through victorious! Victory in the long run is worth misery in the moment lol
forever grateful we get to see these beautiful chocolate babies grow to be such great people! You guys nourish their needs and want so well, it’s so evident and real. Thank you! RUclips’s #1 family!!!
As a father to be in 2 weeks. Thank you for the emotional encouragement your words bring raw emotion to my heart and I’ll take your word on how to raise my daughter very well!
Such wonderful parents raising future leaders of the communities and the people. Blessed. Also, those shorts are wild and I can't stop watching some on repeat. Especially anything uncle baby related lol
What you said to Uriah about not being a quitter, when you try again, my parents never said to me. I felt the validation you gave him, for my own inner child. Thank you
Honestly BEST channel on the entire RUclips! Substance! Learning! Tools and Entertainment! 5 star channel 4SURE! More people need to know about this channel!
I loved everything about this episode! Seeing Riah realize that he should have stayed with hockey instead of allowing fear to win. I love seeing how you're parenting the kids in this season. Beautiful and intentional.
This is one beautiful ass family like 😭😭 God bless y’all fr !!
That’s so poignant! I’ve actually heard that before from my daughter about ice skating. She wished I had pushed her harder but it felt like I was forcing her. I wish I’d heard a convo like this all those years ago!
Got emotional watching this video. ❤️Yvette and Glen - keep doing all that you’re doing for your beautiful children! Uriah’s growth is absolutely everything. ✨✨✨
Lol I cant beleive I'm watchinig, and enjoying a family vlog channel.
You are quite a capable couple!!!!! All the power to you & the fam, and what you're trying to do by creating this.
I want to honor the parents!!! cause you both have blessed me with how not to give up, I wish that I had that growing up! well, good job Uriah you did it, and the fact that you told your dad not to ever let you give up brought me to tears! you are amazing Uriah keep going, buddy, you got this, Theo keep encouraging your brother to do good cause he looks up to you. THIS FAMILY ROCKS!!!
My inner child is healed ❤😢 Go Uriah! Protect ya wife! Lol
Hello. Mom and Dad I hope you don’t mind my comment. Big ups to you Uriah❣️ Your response to your father was very wise. Some adults need learn from you. God bless
You are truly a great DAD!!! ❤❤ 👏👏👏
Uriah seems like such a gentle soul...very observant, intuitive and introspective; which are great qualities for leadership. His growth is steady. I hope he finds something that he can wholly commit himself at or to.
I use to play street hockey with the rest of the neighborhood kids. From the age of 3 to 8. It was huge back then because of the show Rocket Power. My brother and I were the only black kids and I was the only girl, but we didn’t care it was fun to play. We take our little hockey set when would visit our family out of town too lol. Love this❤
In life, it doesn't matter how much you know but how much you try and persist to success.
U inspired me to be a better father each day I truly appreciate you and your family
Beautiful Family!!
This got me so emotional. You are such an amazing family and parents. You are raising kings and queens. I appreciate the open dialogue you have with your chocolate babies. Im planning on being a mother soon and I will definetly implement alot of the things I see on this channel.
Thank you for the wonderful video. And Uriah YOU ARE NOT A QUITTER! Have a great season boys!
It’s amazing how God is guiding you in fatherhood! We love seeing amazing kids growing in many ways. ❤
Happy Birthday Aniyah🎂🎉🎊
You can’t win as a parent. Damned if you do and damned, if you don’t. You can only try your best, try to understand each child’s characteristics and support accordingly.
Yep
What a precious upbringing 🥹
Man, I hope one day when I have kid(s), I can have such understanding conversations with them. You and Yvette have done an incredible job in their speech training from their toddler stages. Shout out to y'all, man. ❤
I loved this video. Was so nice to hear Uriah's commentary on his progress and intentions to play hockey. And Anaya's skills as a reporter. The big brother Theo looking to help his younger brother. And Uzi's boxing skills! Good job parents! Beleaf this was so well done. 🖤💚❤️
Thank you for this wonderful episode, enjoying the gems shared with in this one.
I've even learned a lot from this Father though the last 5 or 6 years now. I love your family !!! Our loving Creator please help other Fathers give just as much as this one.
✌🏻❤🤠sending my love to you all the way from Trapper Creek Alaska!💋
Great kids! I'm over here rooting for Uriah like hes my own nephew 😂 One day he'll overcome his fear of embarrassment and there'll be no stopping him! I hope Theo realises just how much he inspires his little brother 😁
I ❤ your family. Even though it's different, I love to see you guys interactions with your babies!!!
Love it! Go Uriah, you can do it! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I haven't been here in a while. Your firstborn son has grown "handsomer." That smile! Your second oldest son, so articulate. The lesson of perserverence is invaluable.
I watched a video I had saved in a playlist when they boys were, but babes❤ They were debating whether they were black or brown. Loved their squeaky voices and thoughts🤎🖤
This video was so good that I had to watch it twice!🥰🥰🥰
I was waiting for a video beleaf I felt like one was brewing and here it is. Well done.
So, these videos are SO well done. So good. Thank you for sharing.
This made me tear up !! I love your content
Checking in from the DMV.
After listening to Uriah’s perspective, I don’t think you made a mistake. He learned some very valuable lessons about himself as a result of quitting the first time and I believe those lessons will make him more determined and committed this time. You can hear the growth in his mindset and attitude. 🤎🤎
This format be 🔥🔥, the podcast-y vibes with the kiddo to the a-roll video. Big fan!
"you can't be a quitter if you still working" 🔥🔥
Please post more videos like this ❤
Uriah has his mother complete voice!!! So cute!
I haven’t watched y’all since like 2018 it’s crazy how much everybody has grown man!!! Dang time flies, much love to the family
Fantastic parents
Love from Canada 🇨🇦
THEIR SO BIG NOW!!!!!!
Encouragement all the way! You're a STELLAR human-being 💯and an EXCEPTIONAL parent and husband 🌟! IMO, you deserve an A+++ in leadership and your pahtnah-in-crime, - Wifey,🌟 deserves equal accolades! Y'alls da BOMB-DIGGITY 💣💥! I'm gonna share on FB, as I usually do with y'all's teachable videos! 👋👋👋
Love the support the entire family provides with all of their endeavors. They just have to try and eventually they’ll improve. I was competitive at a collegiate and amateur level and two of the things that caused thinking traps were when my coach asked me if I was ready and are you sure. I’d rather you pump me up and help me visualize than cause me to start feeling anxious. Just a thought as they continue to compete. You’ll start to see a difference in their confidence.
Awww I love this!!!! I pray for this young man that the fear of failure will be broken off him that he will stand in his unique position and capacity I pray Riah will know himself as God sees him and accepts it and walks in it. I thank you Lord for his perfectly gifted parents to pull out of him and nurture him into purpose. Cover this family and continue to be there keeper. Thank you Lord
Quitting at something that doesn't serve you anymore, or even hurts you is not the same as giving up.
We were allowed to participate and follow our interests with the understanding that we had to finish the season.
My brother played from a mite, when he could barely stand on the ice in the 80s, through college (on a hockey scholarship( as a left wing. I did figure skating, so we grew up traveling rinks. We were almost always the only color. So happy for them, hope they love it too❤🙏🏾
Uzi with the haymakers 🥊🥊🥊
Love you family
I absolutely love this video great parents❤😊
Beautiful!
Him finishing boxing will teach him commitment too. Love it!
Beautiful
This was great.
This blessed me. Thank you for sharing the fam ❤🙏🏾
These videos are so great ❤
Now, in my late 40s I can see how my Mom’s concern about upsetting me turned me into someone who quit a lot. I started really thinking about that when I would see Alicia Keys or HER play their instruments so effortlessly. I started piano very early but as soon as my friends left I followed the crowd. I’m not a parent but the first thing I would adopt would be that my children would not be allowed to quit anything they chose to partake in. They would have to follow through. They must follow through until the end of the season.
😢😢😢😢!!! Riah was really good!!!!
Lord knows how much i needed this video
my favorite internephew is growing up!
Love this stuff❤
