When we lose the ball, the players dont mark anyone. Every team we play this happens, it's like social distancing whenever the opposition gets the ball for a counter. And it is evident whenever we concede a set piece, we need to learn to man mark players better and defend as a team better. Xavi has to address this too.

Just like with Koeman; the team is a mix of old and over their prime, and youngsters that are way too young to carry the team. It needs a lot of work and time. The oldies have to stick around longer and carry more than they can carry anymore and the youngsters have to deliver way earlier than can be expected from them. Ideally the youngsters would make minutes here and there in a solid first team. But there is no other way.

Firstly I must say an awesome game, enjoyed every minute of it, awesome first half for barca, great second half for Celta. Now fot the problems. Sergi the coach made one mistake and took too long to make the change. Gavi should have been pulled at the start of the second half, i saw the problem coming from fati was injured. The side wasn't balanced that was obvious, after he added the academy player the game settled down, by then we have already conceeded 2 goals. Too late, thats the only thing i blame him for. Araujo was amazing as usual. The lenglet was good today, if it wasnt for him we would have conceeded about 6. I keep on telling you guys that Ter Stegen is like flipping a coin. Never know when he will show up, some days he looks awesome. And others awful lol. The side was good overall, Ter Stegen just let us down today, and busq and lenglet later on in the match.

I always wonder how the forwards feel when these results happen. Giving your best and scoring just to have your defense surrender just as many goals. Do they feel dread knowing that if they don't score then the defense will concede a few goals? I've been a barca fan since 2005 and since 2005 our defense has always been questionable. No matter how obvious the defensive problem is its never truly fixed. We got somewhere when Umtiti was fit and dominating but since he got injured its back to square one. It's genuinely frustrating.
With the hamstring injuries, the medical staff is definitely massaging the hamstrings too much. A rugby club I worked at stopped massaging hamstrings and instead focused on the quadriceps in therapy and the hamstring injuries dropped to like 1 in a season, compared to like 30.

To be quite honest guys. We need to start asking questions of Ter Stegen. I didn't see this as a coaching error seeing the way we played first half. We get really comfortable and just have nooooo personality to continue a 2nd half.
I never watch a full Barca game for obvious reason. The club has taught us never to get too excited because it's momentary and fades quickly; I do not get thrilled seeing flashes of their skill nowadays because that could be attributed to multiple factors. It was expected players would be more motivated to perform today to inaugurate the arrival of Xavi in a positive way, hence a more confident and energetic performance in the first half. Later, the players came back to the present and thankfully showed us the state of this club and what we are dealing with. The task that awaits Xavi is to make the team perform more consistently throughout the whole match. We need to focus on the more significant gain now that Xavi is here. One concern I was having was about the goalkeeper situation at the club. I do not know how a supposed top-class goalkeeper or one of the very best readily concede 2 or 3 goals per match, be it some faults are of the entire team's overall structure. If you look at Neuer, David De Gea, Alison, Ederson, and Mendy, they all make goal-bound saves and earn their team valuable points, which should not be underestimated for a club with our standing right now. Despite his excellent ball-playing ability, Ter-stegen underperforms in the department of what a standard goalkeeper does. He needs to be demanding that his team keep a clean sheet and let them be aware of their position. I think Xavi needs to interfere and solve this issue. He needs to either bring in a good goalkeeping coach or replace Ter-Stegen with someone from the academy or outside. Even though everything starts with the ball and finishes with the ball, we need to defend with the ball. Our entire team should try to defend higher up the pitch; nonetheless, it is time for Ter-stegen to be more confident and be a leader in this team; otherwise, he needs to be dropped or sold.

we played into celta vigo high tempo instead of absorbing the pressure and keeping possession. speed is good, but it is also a double edged sword, and the sword just happened to kill us before the game finished, overall the first half from barca was incredible, def showing a promising change
For me in the second half, the opposition gave us huge amount of pressure, and you look at our squad now majority of them are youngsters. They can't coupe with the pressure at that moment, so we can't keep the ball because all of them are thinking of was attacking and that cause panic, we didn't keep possession and play calmly. Now it was not the couch that was panic, it were the youngsters!!!!!
Could you remember how relentless Barca was under Pep and Enrique. They pressed from start to finish. The talent is obviously there as the first half showed. Then the compliancy set in the second half. I think Xavi is going to bring back this work ethic and who is not on board with this work ethic will not make the starting line up. We really do need an overhaul and not just on the pitch. Medical staff, sports psychology, nutrition, fitness.. just to name a few.
When we lose the ball, the players dont mark anyone. Every team we play this happens, it's like social distancing whenever the opposition gets the ball for a counter. And it is evident whenever we concede a set piece, we need to learn to man mark players better and defend as a team better. Xavi has to address this too.

Just like with Koeman; the team is a mix of old and over their prime, and youngsters that are way too young to carry the team. It needs a lot of work and time. The oldies have to stick around longer and carry more than they can carry anymore and the youngsters have to deliver way earlier than can be expected from them. Ideally the youngsters would make minutes here and there in a solid first team. But there is no other way.
But Ronald Koeman isn't clever. He has only premier league mid table team tactics. I don't expect miracles from Xavi but he can do better than Koeman.

Firstly I must say an awesome game, enjoyed every minute of it, awesome first half for barca, great second half for Celta. Now fot the problems. Sergi the coach made one mistake and took too long to make the change. Gavi should have been pulled at the start of the second half, i saw the problem coming from fati was injured. The side wasn't balanced that was obvious, after he added the academy player the game settled down, by then we have already conceeded 2 goals. Too late, thats the only thing i blame him for. Araujo was amazing as usual. The lenglet was good today, if it wasnt for him we would have conceeded about 6. I keep on telling you guys that Ter Stegen is like flipping a coin. Never know when he will show up, some days he looks awesome. And others awful lol. The side was good overall, Ter Stegen just let us down today, and busq and lenglet later on in the match.

I always wonder how the forwards feel when these results happen. Giving your best and scoring just to have your defense surrender just as many goals. Do they feel dread knowing that if they don't score then the defense will concede a few goals? I've been a barca fan since 2005 and since 2005 our defense has always been questionable. No matter how obvious the defensive problem is its never truly fixed. We got somewhere when Umtiti was fit and dominating but since he got injured its back to square one. It's genuinely frustrating.

With the hamstring injuries, the medical staff is definitely massaging the hamstrings too much. A rugby club I worked at stopped massaging hamstrings and instead focused on the quadriceps in therapy and the hamstring injuries dropped to like 1 in a season, compared to like 30.

Can't say I am surprised in the second half the hunger was nonexistent, they conformed and it showed. I still will always love Barca but this needs to change. Xavi will need to be tough on them out right.
To be quite honest guys. We need to start asking questions of Ter Stegen. I didn't see this as a coaching error seeing the way we played first half. We get really comfortable and just have nooooo personality to continue a 2nd half.
I never watch a full Barca game for obvious reason. The club has taught us never to get too excited because it's momentary and fades quickly; I do not get thrilled seeing flashes of their skill nowadays because that could be attributed to multiple factors. It was expected players would be more motivated to perform today to inaugurate the arrival of Xavi in a positive way, hence a more confident and energetic performance in the first half. Later, the players came back to the present and thankfully showed us the state of this club and what we are dealing with. The task that awaits Xavi is to make the team perform more consistently throughout the whole match. We need to focus on the more significant gain now that Xavi is here. One concern I was having was about the goalkeeper situation at the club. I do not know how a supposed top-class goalkeeper or one of the very best readily concede 2 or 3 goals per match, be it some faults are of the entire team's overall structure. If you look at Neuer, David De Gea, Alison, Ederson, and Mendy, they all make goal-bound saves and earn their team valuable points, which should not be underestimated for a club with our standing right now. Despite his excellent ball-playing ability, Ter-stegen underperforms in the department of what a standard goalkeeper does. He needs to be demanding that his team keep a clean sheet and let them be aware of their position. I think Xavi needs to interfere and solve this issue. He needs to either bring in a good goalkeeping coach or replace Ter-Stegen with someone from the academy or outside. Even though everything starts with the ball and finishes with the ball, we need to defend with the ball. Our entire team should try to defend higher up the pitch; nonetheless, it is time for Ter-stegen to be more confident and be a leader in this team; otherwise, he needs to be dropped or sold.

we played into celta vigo high tempo instead of absorbing the pressure and keeping possession. speed is good, but it is also a double edged sword, and the sword just happened to kill us before the game finished, overall the first half from barca was incredible, def showing a promising change
For me in the second half, the opposition gave us huge amount of pressure, and you look at our squad now majority of them are youngsters. They can't coupe with the pressure at that moment, so we can't keep the ball because all of them are thinking of was attacking and that cause panic, we didn't keep possession and play calmly. Now it was not the couch that was panic, it were the youngsters!!!!!
Could you remember how relentless Barca was under Pep and Enrique. They pressed from start to finish. The talent is obviously there as the first half showed. Then the compliancy set in the second half. I think Xavi is going to bring back this work ethic and who is not on board with this work ethic will not make the starting line up. The injuries did have something to with it but come on up 3 and conceded. It came down to discipline
