Did we deserve to go through? No, we didn’t. If we had, this would’ve been prolonged into the RO16 where we would’ve probably faced one of the giants and yet another humiliation. None of us wanted to fall into the Europa League, but we knew this was the most likely outcome today. Nothing we can do about it now, but Xavi’s words after the match gave me hope. He took responsibility (when was the last time we heard that!) and acknowledged exactly where Barça are atm and how much work it’s gonna take to get back to where we belong. We will get there, I’m sure of it. It’s been a lot of hurt recently, but all we can do as fans is continue to support the team.
I think the reason barca HAD to go through is that they lose out on 20Million by not qualifying to the round of 16. This is crucial to Barca given their financial circumstances.

I remember that season. The one right after Ronaldo left and the team looked lost and I truly felt sorry for them but at least they stayed kinda competitive.
I was expecting this result. We have a team of youngsters who are expected to face Bayern veterans. But it still hurts watching. We fought hard. But it’s the little things that add up. The fact that they’re still considering pique, busquets, alba and s Roberto to still be apart of this roster is beyond being a high level club. Catalán player privilege tax will be costly. Dembele demanding 15M a season is ridiculous. He’s nowhere near the level and barely fit to play. Ter Stegen has had a lot of errors as well for the past few seasons; his errors are the reason he’s not starting keeper for Germany. Pitiful. In 2016, the match with Atletico from UCL made me wonder if the team still matters. In 2017, if you remember, PSG humiliated Barca with 4-0 in the first match. But that 6-1 blinded the fans and made them forget what had happened two / three weeks before. Then came the humiliation with Juve (3-0). And the rest is history. Shouldn't have brought Xavi back in the first place. Remember Koeman tried to adapt Barca to current football and even tried to find replacement for old players such as Busquets and Pique. Also yelling at players when they made mistakes, that's the type of coach we need right now and Koeman was the perfect fit considering our financial situation. I have been saying it before and I will continue to say it the problem is more of the squad players than the coaches because this current squad is an average team that consists of 2 set of players. The First set are the old worn out and dead woods players that have past their prime but they still remain in the team because of their names , their origin and past achievements while the other set of players are inexperienced players who are only at potential stage. Football can’t be run based on favoritism and sentiment that’s why Barcelona find itself in this current situation.

My guy, you hit the nail on the head. Our players are below average with the exception of a few. So what does this really mean? La Masia has been producing low quality players for a while now. Nothing more. Players that can't think outside the box. They just keep passing the ball thinking spaces would open up miraculously...as if the opponent's defense cam to sleep. They can't take simple shots from outside the 18-yard box. Tiki taka has failed Barca. It worked with the combo of Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Neymar, Pedro, Suarez, Eto, etc. Those were exceptional players.
A new era starts indeed. I believe this loss is a blessing in disguise. It will help with the rebuild process. We just need players who are genuinely interested in giving their 100% to Barca anytime they put on the Barca shirt. I trust Xavi will build this team now, and hopefully we get some money to sign players compatible with the rebuild process. I once told you that this "Barca DNA" style is not good in modern day football. Football is more about being great on counter-attacking especially when facing high pressing teams. That is why German teams sometimes smash Bayern with big scoreline, it's because they are good at counter-attacking football not this slow possession boring football. Barca can get a 3 vs 3 when attacking and will choose to turn back and pass the ball backwards. Xavi and Iniesta are gone now, these crop of players can't play through the high press consistently.

There was no way we were going to beat Bayern and there was no way we were going to keep a clean sheet with Ter Stegen at his worst form and with that shaky Barca defense. Painful night. None of the players in the team looked like they wanted it apart from Gavi. Gavi gave it all the whole game as always and was full of energy. The rest of the team almost looked like they have given up before the game even started. They did ok until Alba got injured, but after that we were just tragic. The cling of Barcelona in Europa League just does not sound right. We are at one of our lowest points now, but I still really do believe that Xavi and Laporta can turn this around. Getting Alves in, getting Fati back and a Dembele that hopefully can stay fit will help goal scoring wise. I think Depay will improve and understand his position better througout the season. Getting Pedri back will also help. And with time Xavi will just improve this team. Not going to blame Xavi for anything before the end of this season/start of next season. Alves won't add anything outside the locker room. And Gavi although full of energy can't seem to make any through pass to save his life. I counted 3 times that Dest was alone and waiting to get a pass so he can run at the defense and Gavi just turned around and passed it back.

I've finally come to the conclusion that there is no coach that can help this team. We have young players with spark and potential but potential does not win titles. We are lacking player quality. Been a fan since 2004 but I don't see it as a big deal, I lowered my expectations years ago when they kept buying players we didn't need. Every time, year after year when Puyol, Abidal and Alves left we were buying strikers and wingers like nobody's business. Im a big fan of Ter Stegan but he needs to go while he's healthy. Frenkie should go as well. They don't need him as they have no offense to connect with him in the middle. Barca need a rebuild from the ground up. The Europa league is where they need to be at the moment. I know its a long shot but if they can secure a win in the Europa league they can guarantee a champions league spot.

Wow! Suddenly Greizmann's name appears. Most of you guys didn't appreciate him when he was here. You fans lambasted him for missing sitters but now you remember his contribution because you couldn't replace him. Same thing happened when Suarez was playing badly. Fans said 'he was finished and Barca should sell him' but since he left they realised that a tired and weak Suarez is better than an injury prone Aguero. This is a new era so, Barca has to go back to the drawing board to start rebuilding from the scratch. Unfortunately, they don't have the finances to rebuild the team. I have no expectations this season except for one- get to the top 4 at least. As long as we do that, I'm happy. This ''downfall'' has happened for two reasons- poor financial decisions and we did not prepare to let go of Messi in the same way we let go of say Xavi or Iniesta. We have a thin squad and a lot of unwanted players. Now we have to invest tactically, find players that fit our system. Xavi needs our support more than ever right now.

Xavi has to work on the players mentality ASAP. After alba walking off the pitch I knew we were out of balance. Alba is our biggest assist provider this season and he was linking up well with the midfielders and Dembele to provide some srt of width or attack from the left. Our right was stacked up by two defensive players which to all honesty was working. But after Mingueza came on, the left hand failed to attack and had to only focus on defending. I'm not too disappointed with the team. With players playing out of position we are bound to be exploited by a top team like Bayern. Like Muller pointed out, Barca cant keep up with the modern tempo of the game. We'll need a transfer window or two to fix that.
Truly end of an era and legacy. Its start from '0'. But this is the worst start from '0' i guess. 2005-2008 was a rebuilding process after which Barca ruled for a decade. Cruyff time (1986-1988) was a rebuilding process after which Barca ruled for 8 years. But those were different times. This time the gap between current top teams and Barca has just got too big that we can't match them toe to toe even for a few minutes. We were in need of repair since, Luis Enique left in 2017....but we threw blind eye to it. Procastinating the process. At this moment we must also respect a leader like Florentino Perez, the way he has managed Real Madrid. He is an arrogant man, but very shrewd, in terms of planning and business. There are seasons when they are down but quickly get back up. Kudos. And support Barca forever!!
We will still get back up though. AC Milan, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man Utd (still recovering) have all been in this phase. Patience is the key now. No more demanding trophies for a few seasons. Just get better as a team, in fitness, in tactics, in style of play, in terms of personality......

Most people fail to realise this: Barca plays like most of the other top teams actually (thinking that spreading the players out is considered good off the ball movement). But Bayern does it differently from everyone else. They have 5-6 players attacking CENTRALLY, in addition to wing play. It's ironic how Barca always spreads their play while attacking, given that their players have weak aerial ability. I think it gives the illusion that you are creating solid chances. But all it is doing is making your central attack weaker.
Been telling for a while now that Ter Statement is a downgrade (miss Valdes so much) and they called me a plastic fan. Same with Puig, same once with the likes of Denis or Semedo. Fans just sometimes have to admit that their favourites are just useless and don't belong at this club no more. Also remember when I defended Mr Ernesto Valverde. We had the league won by January, beat Inter away with a reserve squad and if not for Alba and Suarez at Anfield we would've won the treble (I will die on the hill that Barca was much better than Liverpool in the first half of that game). My man won the league with 1 loss with the likes of Denis, Gomes, Paco and Deulofeu. "But he didn't play a Barca style". Yeah, but we would win the Clasico 5-1 without Messi, but "no style". And I'm not saying he shouldn't have been fired, but the timing... either sack him after Anfield or wait until the end of the 2020 season. But no, he was fired after wining the UCL group, being 1st in La Liga and after playing a very good game vs Atleti (Bartomeu...). But the Koeman saga wasn't much better. If he was fired in the summer a new coach would've had time with team. Also, I believe that Ten Hag would've taken our job if offered in the summer. But now Xavi has been put in a disasterous sitaution. That's a big shame, because Ten Hag is my dream coach and I don't think he'll ever coach as and a shame, because we may ruin another legend of the club in Xavi. Eh..

Something about Puig is just different than when he came on under Koeman. Plays more sharp and confidently. Maybe not a complete midfielder like the rest of the bunch, but he's a true x factor for this team.
The team doesn't pass to him. He has to chase the ball. There were numerous occasions where barce players could've passed to him and they didn't, instead they lost the ball.
JAIME you have to look at 2ND the goal again. The ball starts going to the left and then shifts directions to the right. That's why Terstegan starts moving to the left, then tries to change back to the right but it's too late and only has time to put his hand up.
Having Lenglet and a 34-year-old Pique as your starter CB's says it all about how weak this Barca team is currently. Have to strengthen the back with faster-paced CBS. Araujo was the one saving grace and guess what, he as pace. Especially with Xavi's high press style, it's even more important to have defenders who are wicked fast who can cover ground when the teams like Bayern and Liverpool are in transition.
Before all of the hate comments come in, we have to be realistic, did we ever truly expect barca to beat bayern? The game we had to win was against benefica and we ended up drawing. We also have to look at the team, they tried their hardest, they sacrifice everything and we just expect players to be the next xavi, Iniesta, Messi ect. I honestly don't understand why such a big thing is being done now because Barca ended up in the Europa League. So this is the sum of all the events that were in the club after 2017. Not to mention that we lost two players this summer whose contribution in goals and assists together amounted to over 60. Barca have a future in players like Gavi, Nico, Pedri, Fati, Dest, but they are all players under 20 years that need time to get to that one level more. And that's why I think it's much better for Barca to play in the Europa League this season, because the morale of a team that is very bad at the moment will rise, young players will gain experience playing in European competitions, Xavi will get the experience he needs. Because after all "the greatest teacher, failure is" Barca will definitely not help that she has now gone further in the Champions League and then conceded 5 goals in the first game and turned out to be embarrassed again, but it will help her if she raises the team's morale with victories and eventually wins the European League trophy.

Did we deserve to go through? No, we didn’t. If we had, this would’ve been prolonged into the RO16 where we would’ve probably faced one of the giants and yet another humiliation. None of us wanted to fall into the Europa League, but we knew this was the most likely outcome today. Nothing we can do about it now, but Xavi’s words after the match gave me hope. He took responsibility (when was the last time we heard that!) and acknowledged exactly where Barça are atm and how much work it’s gonna take to get back to where we belong. We will get there, I’m sure of it. It’s been a lot of hurt recently, but all we can do as fans is continue to support the team.
I think the reason barca HAD to go through is that they lose out on 20Million by not qualifying to the round of 16. This is crucial to Barca given their financial circumstances.

A club of this magnitude should NEVER have to go so low that they have to “rebuild”, unfortunately poor sporting/financial decisions have plunged barca into this reality. Yes, they are rebuilding but there’s so much urgency within the club to get to the top again.
Not even Real Madrid at their lowest, failed to qualify for the Round of 16 and end up in the Europa League. This will be a long rebuild process, and I sincerely hope we don’t end up like AC Milan or Arsenal.

Nothing more. Players that can't think outside the box. They just keep passing the ball thinking spaces would open up miraculously...as if the opponent's defense cam to sleep. They can't take simple shots from outside the 18-yard box. Tiki taka has failed Barca. It worked with the combo of Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Neymar, Pedro, Suarez, Eto, etc. Those were exceptional players.

I once told you that this "Barca DNA" style is not good in modern day football. Football is more about being great on counter-attacking especially when facing high pressing teams. That is why German teams sometimes smash Bayern with big scoreline, it's because they are good at counter-attacking football not this slow possession boring football.

The rest of the team almost looked like they have given up before the game even started. They did ok until Alba got injured, but after that we were just tragic. The cling of Barcelona in Europa League just does not sound right. We are at one of our lowest points now, but I still really do believe that Xavi and Laporta can turn this around. Getting Alves in, getting Fati back and a Dembele that hopefully can stay fit will help goal scoring wise. I think Depay will improve and understand his position better througout the season. Getting Pedri back will also help. And with time Xavi will just improve this team. Not going to blame Xavi for anything before the end of this season/start of next season. Alves won't add anything outside the locker room. And Gavi although full of energy can't seem to make any through pass to save his life. I counted 3 times that Dest was alone and waiting to get a pass so he can run at the defense and Gavi just turned around and passed it back.

Been a fan since 2004 but I don't see it as a big deal, I lowered my expectations years ago when they kept buying players we didn't need. Every time, year after year when Puyol, Abidal and Alves left we were buying strikers and wingers like nobody's business. Im a big fan of Ter Stegan but he needs to go while he's healthy. Frenkie should go as well. They don't need him as they have no offense to connect with him in the middle. Barca need a rebuild from the ground up. The Europa league is where they need to be at the moment. I know its a long shot but if they can secure a win in the Europa league they can guarantee a champions league spot.

After alba walking off the pitch I knew we were out of balance. Alba is our biggest assist provider this season and he was linking up well with the midfielders and Dembele to provide some srt of width or attack from the left. Our right was stacked up by two defensive players which to all honesty was working. But after Mingueza came on, the left hand failed to attack and had to only focus on defending. I'm not too disappointed with the team. With players playing out of position we are bound to be exploited by a top team like Bayern. Like Muller pointed out, Barca cant keep up with the modern tempo of the game. We'll need a transfer window or two to fix that.

Truly end of an era and legacy. Its start from '0'. But this is the worst start from '0' i guess. 2005-2008 was a rebuilding process after which Barca ruled for a decade. Cruyff time (1986-1988) was a rebuilding process after which Barca ruled for 8 years. But those were different times. This time the gap between current top teams and Barca has just got too big that we can't match them toe to toe even for a few minutes. We were in need of repair since, Luis Enique left in 2017....but we threw blind eye to it. Procastinating the process. At this moment we must also respect a leader like Florentino Perez, the way he has managed Real Madrid. He is an arrogant man, but very shrewd, in terms of planning and business. There are seasons when they are down but quickly get back up. Kudos. And support Barca forever!!
We will still get back up though. AC Milan, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man Utd (still recovering) have all been in this phase. Patience is the key now. No more demanding trophies for a few seasons. Just get better as a team, in fitness, in tactics, in style of play, in terms of personality......

Most people fail to realise this: Barca plays like most of the other top teams actually (thinking that spreading the players out is considered good off the ball movement). But Bayern does it differently from everyone else. They have 5-6 players attacking CENTRALLY, in addition to wing play. It's ironic how Barca always spreads their play while attacking, given that their players have weak aerial ability. I think it gives the illusion that you are creating solid chances. But all it is doing is making your central attack weaker.

Araujo was the one saving grace and guess what, he as pace. Before all of the hate comments come in, we have to be realistic, did we ever truly expect barca to beat bayern? The game we had to win was against benefica and we ended up drawing. I honestly don't understand why such a big thing is being done now because Barca ended up in the Europa League. So this is the sum of all the events that were in the club after 2017. Not to mention that we lost two players this summer whose contribution in goals and assists together amounted to over 60. Barca have a future in players like Gavi, Nico, Pedri, Fati, Dest, but they are all players under 20 years that need time to get to that one level more. And that's why I think it's much better for Barca to play in the Europa League this season, because the morale of a team that is very bad at the moment will rise, young players will gain experience playing in European competitions, Xavi will get the experience he needs.
