I think he said a lot of it is a mess, so it would take a lot to clean and re-setup for a video. It might’ve been a while ago he said that though I don’t remember.
Ultron's new head is based on Jerome Opena's art from the Rage of Ultron comic, specifically during the flashback confrontation between Hank and Ultron. They even used his artwork for the figure's packaging.
That’s a really oddly specific thing to reference for a figure release. But it is Hasbro; the best thing one can say about legends is that they will probably eventually make every single version of every Marvel character in existence. Maybe not all equally well, but they’ll get there eventually.
I bought this entire wave of toys for the Cassie BAF alone. I needed her and It was so worth it as I finally have a Marvel "Stature" figure for my Young Avengers collection.
I find it crazy how years ago before becoming a dad Shartimus was doing early reviews of figures, or reviews of super high end hot toys like ALL THE TIME he was at the absolute top of my list back then and now after becoming a dad it’s so obvious how his responsibilities and priorities have changed because he reviews figures that have been out for a while because he’s behind on them which is just such a real and relatable thing to happen in everyone’s busy lives 😂😂😂 Even the amount of editing that filled up his videos before are not as frequent or clean as they used to be but it’s no way an insult or critique just something I noticed!
I’ll admit that I wasn’t crazy about quantum mania or this wave but I really wanted Cassie Lang so I just bought her off eBay. Probably paid more than I should have.
I think my hype of this wave is still there cuz I don’t have it yet, but I think my own personal hype has lessened for this wave considering the movie came out waaay before the figure did which I found really weird cuz the Guardians 3 wave came out around when the movie did and same with Thor 3 and the Marvels wave is currently out now too. Definitely will wait a bit more this wave. The movie figures though I will be ordering first.
My ranking of the figures from this wave: 8.) Kang (He should look fine and okay from this wave, but when it came to the execution and final product he fell short from my expectations. Articulation, lack of accessories and engineering isn’t doing this figure any favors. 7.) Comic Ultron 6.) Crossfire 5.) Future Ant-man 4.) Egghead 3.) MCU Ant-man 2.) MCU Wasp 1.) Cassie Lang (Hands down the best figure from the wave, love articulation, aesthetics are great, proportions are outstanding, what really sells this figure are the head sculpts! This figure might go down as one of the best figures for me in 2023)
When comparing ant man with the wasp’s helmets, I’d much rather have a figure that’s fully painted that has a bit of marbling (antman) rather than having a helmet that lacks silver paint in the very front at the mouth piece. It’s like they completely forgot about it. When I first got my wasp, I thought it was a QC issue, but turns out it’s every figure so it’s not by mistake. I can let the marbling slide if that means getting complete paint jobs
As much observation and process of development there’s no way there forgetting. Cheapening absolutely 💯 it’s all about the chess game ♟️ unfortunately and I agree about what u about the paint. It’s bs and there aware they do what they do
One thing you didn't mention is how horrible the waist articulation is on the Ant Man figure. It looks fantastic I think, but what the hell is this waist? I found it 50% off and I'm not sure I want to keep it because it's going to be hard to pose something that can't twist or bend worth a damn.
I will never understand why they’re so averse to trying more than one ball joint for a torso, especially on MCU and female figures. They did give Cassie two joints this time but the Wasp and Ant-Man figures are kinda begging for it this time, they have a perfect line where they could put the joint too. Hasbro’s done ab crunch waist swivel combo, diaphragm and reverse ab crunch combo, but never the best combination which is at least one ball for the upper torso and another for the waist. Ball joints are one of the simplest types of joints ever, yet they’re allergic to them apparently. It would allow so much more freedom of movement.
It was a great Wave, and a rare Wave where I actually bought the entire Wave. I got 5 Villains out of it as I use Future Ant Man as another version of Black Ant. It also completes my Young Avengers, as I use MCU Quicksilver as Speed, so I only needed Cassie Lang as Stature, as I did get the box set way back then, and I have Kate Bishop. I also had Cassie Lang as Stinger, but that's not Comic accurate. And I have expanded my team to make it even more Avengers, by adding American Dream, Arana, a kit bashed Magnus Thorson, Ironheart, X-23 as Wolverine, Shuri Black Panther, and Franklin and Valeria Richards! This makes it a Very Avengers-ery (😃) team.
The Kang figure looks so cool but that articulation is so disappointing. I always imagine Kang with a big gun, so I gave him the one from the love and thunder Groot and it looks okay. Cassie was a standout for me, I really like all the articulation they were able to pack in, hopefully she gets a regular sized release soon
I still want that crosshair and I know nothing about him Also, somehow I didnt see that Coneheads Dan Ackroyd similarity until you said it and now its like holy crap lmao! I just havent had the money to really get figs i have no connection with. Excellent review of the wave!
Kang - I don't think I've seen anyone headswap with He Who Remains, yet?? Also, that's his tunic. Not even a tabard or kilt. Wasp - If I didn't do it before, I am definitely making this my MCU YellowJacket Rita DeMara. (ok, I did years ago, with previous Wasp and a masked Quill head.) Egghead = Conehead. Not enough are talking about this. I already headswapped to a GG3 Quill body to add Beldar to my Guardians team. (also, he's the Ghost's father in the MCU.) Crossfire - comic = random mercenary. MCU = Darren Cross aka Yellowjacket aka MODOK. Ant-Man - yeah, these actual eyes behind visors in this wave are GREAT. Cassie- I already assembled two (and only needed ONE Kang!), so the unmasked head BAF is going with the comic teams.
Every time I see Crosshair I "see" Lifeline from G I Joe. Is he an assassin for the Red Cross? Do you think there will be a Deluxe Cassie fig? I dont feel like buying the whole line. I only like Ant Man, Wasp, and Cassie.
Blue Beetle was much more of a MCU movie than the last couple MCU movies. this wave is shelf warming just like the last Ant-Man movie figures. Future Ant-Man has the worst paint I’ve seen on a figure since Stealth FF Spidey.
I vastly prefer the new ultron head sculpt but man that old silver looks so much nicer! I also actually kinda like the marbeling in most cases But on the tops of the helmets in this case is atrocious
I did want the comic figures from this wave first but it bugs me so much that in order to get new sculpts and paints for MCU figures they need to cheap out on comic figures. That and I’m just kind of over Hasbro lately.
Realistically? Probably like in the 20-24-inch range. I have a few reasons for thinking it'll be smaller than Galactus or even the Sentinel (even though I would personally like it to be huge): 1.) After the failure of the Engine of Vengeance, I think Hasbro wants to try to keep costs down as much as possible. It would look especially bad for the Marvel Legends team to have 2 Haslab failures in a row 2.) I'm not sure I agree with them personally, but the Marvel Legends team said in an interview that if they released Galactus in 2023, they would have to charge $500+ for him due to increased material and production costs 3.) That 20-24 inch range would still tower over 6-inch figures, be noticeably larger than the Toybiz BAF Giant Man, and look impressive in the display, but the shorter height would help keep the cost down
@@jamainwilkins5100 It shouldn't IMO. And Giant Man is WAY more iconic than Goliath anyway, so just focus on making a GREAT Giant Man to keep costs down. A 2-pack of huge figures would unnecessarily increase the price tremendously
Normally, I don't care about marbling, but in this instance, I think you're bang-on. Those big marks in the middle of the foreheads on Ant-Man and Cassie obscure the helmet and detract from otherwise pretty good sculpts.
I prefer the newer Ultron over the older Ultron. I like the paint in the mouth and the overall color I like more. I hate the marbling though. But overall I prefer the newer Ultron. Both really great either way.
Cassie’s not in scale with the Legends Giant Man?!? What a major oversight. Unfortunate you can’t even recreate the one scene where Cassie is big. Doubly sucks we didn’t get a standard release of Cassie.
To those collectors out there that wanted some or all of these characters, I salute you. I wouldn’t mind an Egghead and a Cassie Lang myself. However, this wave is going to sell like CNN t-shirts at a Trump rally. It’s a Quantumania wave, so yeah…Ant-Man, the Wasp, and Kang were pretty much a given, and Cassie was a logical choice as the BAF. However, Ant-Man and the Wasp didn’t sell very well the last time around, so you really need to balance out the rest of the wave with some heavy hitters and fan requested characters. Hasbro did a nice job of rounding out the Marvels wave with Iron Man, Cap, and two team builders in Karnak and Marvel Boy. However, I don’t know what they were thinking here. Spread out over four waves, future Ant-Man, Egghead, Crossfire, and an Ultron repaint would likely be the weakest character in each of those waves. Grouped together like this along with MCU B Listers? Yikes. This may be the second coming of the 2019 Captain Marvel wave…and that came out when Hasbro and the MCU were on a roll.
Ya I was really excited for Kang I even overpaid and got him from Canada, big let down like you said just too small and horrible articulation!! He looks great as a statue in the back though!!
1.) I think most (if not all) of us will agree that this Ultron is NOT as nice as the Ultron from the Villains Wave. BUT, I think that can actually be useful as we can army build this inferior Ultron as Ultron Bots while keeping the superior Villains Wave Ultron as THE Ultron in the display 2.) I'm a comic figure-only collector, so I actually really appreciate getting Egghead! He's kind of obscure and silly, but he was Ant-Man's nemesis during the Silver Age so he'll pair up GREAT with that new Target-exclusive Ant-Man
@VVizdachozenone97 cosmo wave was a total pass because it's all mcu. But I got 4 figures I really wanted in the cho wave so I'll have to disagree there.

Indeed it should never gets old. Prime is legendary 🤘🏼

The wasp is lacking silver paint on the front of her helmet. That bugs me so much because the ant man figure is spot on. It’s absolutely flawless
I have to respectfully disagree, that Ant-Man figure isn't flawless. The arms are kind of skinny. Especially the lower part.

I don’t understand why we still haven’t got a six inch Cassie.
I found a big time let down spidey today for 8 bucks, really lived up to his name because a pin in his knee broke after a few poses 😂
The Kang headswap reminds me of the waiting room scene from Beetlejuice.
Hasbro has their torso bend backwards on every figure. Who engineers that? Bends all the way back and 0 up front. Good lord
I’ll admit that I wasn’t crazy about quantum mania or this wave but I really wanted Cassie Lang so I just bought her off eBay. Probably paid more than I should have.
