Hey I have a question or something I really would appreciate if you can make up tutorial being a Mac user how to rearrange after downloading a plug-in and your computer is almost getting full and to make sure in able10 That it relocates all your library‘s that you want to move to your SSD hard drive or hard drive being organized so that Ableton Or maybe another Daw so that way your system or your computer can I have space and not freeze on you or any type of issue especially having a 256 GB SSD It gets full fast so yeah I kind of seeing what you’re talking about on this video even though it’s a while back I was seeing that you kind of tagged on the Mac your library‘s to make it easier to locate because I’m having an issue some library’s are not being able to be found that I moved to my hard drive so it’s been kind of a headache trying to re-figure it all out so I just wanted to ask if you can show your prices how are you just download from beginning to end and should be good to go with no libraries missing or bouncing around would be the most upgrade for me because I’ve been dealing with this for about three years and sometimes I feel like I get it right and sometimes I don’t get it right in the sense he gets so frustrating they just erase your whole computer and you just start fresh and just start re-downloading everything from beginning to start I need a good thing about that you know you pay for your stuff you can go back and re-re-download or if you have an issue just let the company know and they fix it for you but thank you if you come across this I really don’t see anybody like Breaking The full process how to save room on your Mac for your music production and be able to be comfortable and have no missing libraries would be something really helpful not just for me but I’m pretty sure a lot of people that are not into computers or just new begginers 🗣please help me and for others would be super helpful ThankYou
If I get a raid solution like your can I use it as my only external drive and still get the feature where I can replace a single drive and it fixes itself ???
Yeah absolutely. You can use kontakt from a hard disk (mechanical) drive. So SSD will definitely be possible. Now if the laptop has FireWire then absolutely, that shit is quick as hell (if you get a FireWire compatible drive)
so i'm gathering you don't really store plugins on externals right? Just wondering bc I'm debating if that's the best course of action for me right now.
Yeah I'm confused about that. I thought plugins had to be copied over into the program files of the DAW, which presumably would be on the computer's internal hard drive.
Yes T7 is a bit faster....and its more expensive...i have 3 ssd T5 and i run my plugins off of it and my tracks that i make...i dont mix these...like keep 1 ssd for only virtual instrument ugins that u run off of...and the other ssd for your tracks you save and make...
Hey man I’ve got a question for ya? After getting a external hard drive most of my stuff is in a zip file so my question is will I still have to have zip files for let’s say EZ drummer 2 ??? Thanks
Total overkill...lol...to be honest you need 4 hard drives .3 ssd...on the 1st you put your tracks and recordings ..the 2nd your virtual instruments and 3rd your video files if you are editing ay all...the 4th you only use it for back up...first 3 is. 2tb ssd drives...the 4th can be just a big hard drive you backup all your work in case something happens to your pc or one of your drives fails...make sure you back up your files at least ones every week...it depends how much music production you make or how many songs you work on...thats my way and in 10 yra have not failed me...i keep everything clean and organized by alphabatical files date and time..cheers..
8 minutes and I'm leaving. I tried 😪 Sound like a magician preforming a trick, trying to take your attention away from the focal point. But appreciate the effort put into this.
I think what you're saying about speed with respect to RAID is only when you use striping right? (RAID-0). But if you use striping with RAID-0, you don't have redundancy. So, i guess you use RAID-5?
Hi, i just bought a samsung T7 SSD and Kontakt keeps crashing, i hear the disconnect tone and sounds like the SSD is disconnecting mid session causing kontakt then cubase to crash. it's killin me, no idea where it went wrong.
your kind of entertaining, but the informational value of this video is really bad considerung that it's going 20 minutes. please just tell us: where to put what in 3-4 minutes that's what's essential - and I still don't know after the whole video...
Are you kidding......loud noise in the starting of a music recording video. . .? Your recording db level is also so high....all the best. Hope your recordings are more professional.....my god. Good bye.
20 min video in 1 comment:
27 TB for 5K porn, 1 TB for music production

Do you like that chair you are using?
If I get a raid solution like your can I use it as my only external drive and still get the feature where I can replace a single drive and it fixes itself ???
This was extremely helpful!!!
Just out of curiosity I got a Mac laptop for music production from my school. Could I run kontakt komplete using the USB port to run the external ssd?
Yeah absolutely. You can use kontakt from a hard disk (mechanical) drive. So SSD will definitely be possible. Now if the laptop has FireWire then absolutely, that shit is quick as hell (if you get a FireWire compatible drive)

from what ive read its best to install plugins on the internal drive of ur pc/mac but move the sound libraries over to your external ssd
skip to 8:00
"Spinee hard drives." I like that
Will ssd help music production? help please
Hi there, just got my komplete 13 ultimate, im planing to get an external ssd, which brand do you think recomend to use? Thank you
Hey brother, could you tell me what chair that is and if it’s good for potentially playing guitar in? Like do the arms move out of the way?
great video! If i have two computers can authorize serum, waves, kontact, and other plug ins on both of them?
serum, and kontact WILL work on two computers I have kontakt running on three PCs and as well as serum running on two
Is there a difference between Samsung SSD T5 and T7?
Yes T7 is a bit faster....and its more expensive...i have 3 ssd T5 and i run my plugins off of it and my tracks that i make...i dont mix these...like keep 1 ssd for only virtual instrument ugins that u run off of...and the other ssd for your tracks you save and make...

HI! wich hub you use for fast speed and a lot of stuff??
What raid style are you using?
How do you connect all of your SSD together? Like one that runs your programs, vs the one for your Ableton projects and sample packs.
Im sure if you have a USB hub Ableton will allow you to pull from the directories accordingly
How do you plug in 4 SSDs when a that macbook pro only has a few ports where you usually plug in keyboards/mouse/monitors?
WildBlossom Scotch probably use a thunderbolt hub that has multiple usd ports.
This guys a legend. Thumbs down to the dislikes! Cheers for this one brother, sorted myself some SSD's!
As a beginner, I'm wondering what minimum size external hard drive I should be using to store my samples and virtual instruments in.
1 tb at least pal
@@vinniedixiemusic is 2 tb overkill?

This video should be like 5 minutes, but he talked 5 minutes about the postman.. 😂

Is the Drobo a NAS backup?
Yes
wouldnt RAID count as a different medium

You have Kontakt solely on the SSD?
did you solve the disconnection problem ?
I know the answer
There must be an easier way

Would you recommend a ssd or a hdd for music production and why I need to get one
You do some great videos, but forget all the shit and just get on with it.
