This is probably the only VW that I would consider at the moment. With the dual-clutch. I live in Chicago. I don’t play with a stick shift in this traffic and weather..
@ I’ve leaned towards 7 and 7.5 due to the physical hand brake and more conventional displays. My wife has a 2024 Atlas and the enterior is great for a family SUV but it doesn’t seem like it would fit in the R. I could be wrong though. But I need to upgrade, my GR86 is to small for the family
Sorry, meant to say MK 7.5! I do believe the 7.5 is top of the hill for the GTI and R. This new infotainment system in the new wave of VW products is infuriating.

This has always been my dream car. I could never afford it until now…but now I don’t like the interior :/
After owning this, I think the Golf R and GTI MK 8.5 is the best all around.
