R6V2 has remained my favorite shooter of all time next to BFBC2 since the day I bought it off some kid at school in 2009. I remember pouring countless hours into the game, and I still do. It’s a shame that Siege ended up being nothing like this, nothing like what r6 is supposed to be.
Vegas 2 servers are still up on 360 and PS3 fyi. Also, I personally felt Siege was a lot closer to series roots than Vegas 2 even though both were nothing like classic Rainbow.
I played countless hours of this game back in the day. While Seige is it's own thing, I still love it. Though, I think the game that feels most similar to R6V2 is Insurgency Sandstorm. That's just my opinion.
Vegas and Vegas 2 remake would be incredible. Or a new entry with RS Vegas gameplay mechanics. Such a shame we're stuck with Siege still... Games 2 generations ago were so much better with customization, now most games are "hero shooters" with minimal customization and nearly all have micro transactions galore..
Keep in mind, on console this game had split screen. On release, no update required. I put countless hours into this with my little brother, we even played the previous game together. These are times I'll never forget, I haven't felt that way when playing a videogame in a long time...
Man growing up with games like this are heartbreaking. Games now may look better but when it comes to content they're a puddle deep. This game had TONS of content with lots of maps, guns, amour (that actually mattered not just cosmetic), lots of free cosmetics, pvp and pve game modes, solo/coop campaign, gadgets, first/3rd person perspective, good cover system. This game should have been a look into the future but for some stupid reason people want to pay money to make their fake characters look good, well done y'all enjoy the trash we get now. Same with dice who told them we didn't like to blow up the map up? Imagine what bad company would look like today...Battlefield now can't even compete with its own games.. Sad days for us
Bro I can't explain how many religious level playing hours my Dad, siblings and I put into this game. Just constantly running terrorist hunt over and over and over via duos, constantly trying to upgrade your gear that you can ear in game. This was released in one of the best years of gaming (2008) so it's sad how quality has dipped
i dont understand why there is not a third version of this game because this game and the environment is simply amazing. i can imagine with todays graphics on xbox one of ps 5 what they can do with this game.
Nice to see this classic being replayed by you! You’ve got to get some Terrorist Hunt done on this channel! I spent hundred of hours playing that on split screen back in the day!
Same here! I actually loaded it up only a couple days ago and ran through Villa on Realistic. Great game, no game since has a mode similar to or as compelling as Terrorist Hunt.
@@fathersunglasses6085 Been getting this annoying audio bug unfortunately when trying to co-op with my brother recently, but yeah, once that's fixed we're definitely going to be running through some terrorist hunt
Yeah, I was playing through GRAW (X360), GRAW 2 and Vegas lately. I do not think we will get triple A hardcore shooters like this anymore. Closest thing I play that's similar to this is Ready or Not. It's not Triple A but there's a lot of love in the game.
Playing this game on my Dad’s old home theatre setup back in the day was something else. This game with Dolby 5.1 surround sound was peak. I have been working through completing the campaign over the past week or so and have being having an absolute blast. I wish more FPS games existed which took a more tactical, deliberate approach to the gameplay rather than just running and gunning (as fun as that can be as well).
Was watching this while having tea and my left over burger lol and just amazed how classic this game was and is…so happy I played the campaign twice so far
This game was perfection, everysingle aspect of it had me hooked. Everyone had there own unique look/armour setup too, and once you hit level 50 you could change the camo to what ever combination of colours you wanted. RIP to the goat
So many late nights staying up playing team deathmatch and terrorist hunt. They should make a third and adapt all of these things from the second one into it.
I think today's tactical shooters owe so much to this Tom Clancy masterⁿpiece. This remains my second favorite FPS behind Halo 3. I love both for very different reasons. The exhilaration of a terrorist hunt on realistic difficulty, on splitscreen with my brothers is hard to match.
Ready or Not is made by some of the devs of R6V2, they even mention this on their store page and from having played it, its pretty honest to this in terms of tactical squad gameplay if you play with friends. There is an AI squad but ive not really messed around with them enough to say if they are competent. Games in early access still and id say its biggest flaw is content but that will obviously improve. But yea if you like R6V2 id say give RoN a try.
I remember there was this lady she recommended me to get this game for my ps3 she said her and her brother played it split screen for hours every day and didn’t get bored I will never forget that recommendation I was given.
My fav fps of ALL time. 360 days online with a load of friends in terrorist hunt against each other and randoms. Too much fun. I’m currently playing this again infront of my kid. Bit rusty. Since I haven’t really touched this competitively since around 2011. If he likes it then I’ll try and sort it so we can play 2 player. Maybe 3 if you can.
Thank you for the video. I remember playing a *ton* of this with my friends co-op (made story so much easier too). I miss how this and the splinter cell series used cover systems. I wish they were still around but with battle Royale and everyone copying CoD I don't think we'll see a return of hybrid 1st/3rd person shooters with cover systems.
Okay as a combat veteran I want to say how accurate this game is. The fact that an E4 or below blocks the door for someone presumably an officer on his side is real. Also shooting from the hip never happens. But we do bring up the gun and shoot not looking through the scope often. And it's about as accurate as what this game portrays. Also, commanding your soldiers in this manner is exactly how it happens. I still have yet to play a game that is this realistic. We don't walk around with a gun at our hip on a mission... It's always at the ready next to our shoulder
do the fighters of the famous unit, do not own hand-to-hand combat (knife, fist), and also do not know how to crawl and jump, like the characters in this game? In the game, terrorists in full gear run faster and without fatigue than the "rainbow" special forces.
So, as a soldier, you carried an LMG and an assault rifle simultaneously? Along with 6+ grenades and a pistol AND 15 magazines? Vegas is fun, but was when these games stopped being very realistic. The 3rd person view also lets you see much much more than you would actually be able to see. The game also made shotguns like sniper rifles in accuracy. Vegas is fun, but it's nothing like the realism found in other games.
@@АндрейКожанthere is no situation in the game you ever really need a knife. You'll never get close enough to an enemy who doesn't have a gun on you, which is realistic. There are many problems with Vegas, but the lack of fistfighting is not one of them.
R6V1 was one of the first games I got w/ my 360 alongside PGR4 and Saints Row. Beat the story within a week and online was super fun. Bought R6V2 the next year despite already having Halo 3 and COD4. Definitely my top 5 fav shooters of that gen.
Was a sad day when they scraped this game to go to Siege and then Division... I own R6V2 in many platforms. I may not play them all, but I do NOT regret buying them at all. T-Hunt is still my fav I keep going back to, but this makes me want to go play the story over.
Been replaying this on the Series X with my buddy. Just a heads up to everyone, it’s backwards compatible and people still play online everyday. Terrorist Hunt always has people online
I remember this was my first shooter as a kid, i got it free with xbox live gold on xbox 360, and ever since i have come back from time to time, the enimies in this game were so much tougher than other shooters, especially playing without team-mates
Dude, the two Vegas games were years beyond their time and no other shooter has held a candle since. This is the remake or sequel we need so bad. I know several reasons it will never be the same tho. One is customizable camos. Why let players make their own camos if you can micro-transaction the hell out of premades. I miss these days. 😕
My favorite Rainbow Six game. As much as i love Siege, i still prefer the feel of Vegas 1 and 2. I hope the next big "proper" R6 game is more like the Vegas series. I understand it may not appeal to fans of the Hero shooter-esque feel of Siege and it's first person only gameplay. But i think it would be a breath of fresh air in the coming years to have a Vegas 3. Hopefully with AI that's just as fun to fight and kill as they are in V2. And possibly with a campaign and customizable loadout and character creator.

If anybody else was like me the first time online you rank up and unlock stuff you hooked like a fish in the ocean😂😂😂.. Ive seen myself play from 6am to 9pm & 12 midnight ranking up ..
Im gonna be honest, this game was when the pace of the R6 series turned more COD'like, but that was more or less because they games pace had to increase in order to grab players at the time. For starters, your health regenerated in the Vegas games, and did not in the first three. That alone made the original games MUCH slower paced and more difficult. Though I preferred the slower pace of the old school R6 games ported from PC (Rainbow Six 3 and R6 Black Arrow) in terms of campaign, the multiplayer of this game was unreal. Fantastic maps, competitive play and great customizability made this one of the best 360 era online shooters. Even as a COD and Halo veteran, some of my favorite gaming memories came from this game.
