OMG The "Just Bad Games" Series Is Some Of The FUNNIEST Content I've Consumed!
My mom got me a hyper scan that came with a Ben 10 game, and it never worked not once was I able to start it up, so I guess I got one that was already broken.
Consider that a miracle that you didn't play it.
Can't believe they found another channel I also like. Hope they find more.
This is the thing that happens when you have an executive who doesn't know anything about a topic, but had an idea that they thought would be lucrative. Then proceeds to insist they have direct control of the project and is unwilling to listen to anyone in the team or change what they want.
And the team they wanted, or had, may have not been up to the task.
This is this first rerez video i got into, I love those guys.
TBF Nintendo did a short-lived card scanning system for the Game Boy Advance, but most of those were just bonus content for full standalone games, like extra levels for Super Mario Advance 3, not THE ENTIRE GAME’S CONTENT AND FEATURES
And when they were full games, it was the full game *on that card* and purchasable elsewhere as the NES Classics Series
Like as in you could buy the cards or the cartridge, you didn't need both
Hopefully they see more videos from rerez

The Ben 10 game was even worse with the fact that the game would sometimes turn you into the wrong alien on purpose when you scanned a card, mirroring that actual show, that the Omnitrix often gave Ben the wrong alien.

Kinda of a good choice to watch Rerez because this is also my first video I've ever watched. Really recommend you guys watch both "It's Just Bad" and "Worst Ever" series.
There was going to be a Last Airbender game and another called Nick Extreme Sports but was cancelled after Hyperscan flopped

The HyperScan sounds like a failed product because I never heard of such a thing.
I saw the Rerez recommendation go up like two days ago.
When the f*** are ya gonna react to Monkey Wrench or Caddicarus, both of which have been getting recommended and upvoted for months? XD
Nate mentioned that they tried watching Caddicarus, but they thought he was not funny, and so the recording was binned because it would have made for a boring reaction video.
They need funny content they clearly didnt take interest or find what you suggested to be funny..
There are a few arcade games that do this card gimmick, but they have options for if you don’t have your card collection on you or it’s your first play and you get a move rather than a character. For example, Sega’s Dinosaur King. If you don’t have a Dinosaur Card with you, you can default to Triceratops as your playable dino for that run.
I think I know the reason why the games take so long to load, and why they look so crap. The cd drive used in the console is NOT a standard cd drive like you see in a a PC. It is IN FACT AN AUDIO CD READER! Like the ones used in portable CD players! The Hyperscan is essentially "downloading" the data off the disk a la Commodore 64. That data rate is likely 64KbpS which of course takes ages to load into ram. To keep the wait time down, they make the games, small, and thus crap, to keep the kiddos entertained.
This was just a fancy plug 'n play.

I remember seeing commercials for this waste of plastic. Thought the concept was awesome, but I feel blessed never actually getting it as a kid, and wasting my parents hard earned money.

This could've been a good console. If it came out in the 90s, and actually worked (and if the cards weren't required), it could've been a fun toy.
the controller and hardware is awful though. not to mention the input lag is worse than the original NES :)

All I heard is it had a ben 10 game where you scanned the cards and sometimes like in the show you would pick one alien and it would give you a different one
