    Is it worth:
    A) the money
    B) the size
    C) the side mounted IEC power requirement
    D) the no thrills aesthetics
    Sounds just like a like a Flashback or carbon copy to me.

      Do you know that it's literally just a Boss DD-2?
      The supposed deal with Pete Cornish: He's actually making it, it'll be tougher/more reliable/much quieter than a normal pedal, and it has infinite resale value.
      That's pretty much the deal you get. Not actually terrible, but yeah. This sounds very little like an actual tape delay.

    I had the modulation upgrade when I had Pete build my TES. Well worth the extra $150 to have it added in my opinion. Nice demo!

    best damn delay I've ever heard. I own both a DD-2 Blue label and a quad MN 3008 EHX DMM. This blows them both outta the water

      Have you heard a tc2290 or a korg sdd3000? Even huge pedalheads like schnobel say the sdd3000 is the best delay ever and is way more bang for buck than any overpriced delay pedal.

    I love these reviews, thank you. It would be awesome if you would take a portion to do extreme settings, floor the repeats and sweep the time to see how these oscillate and how far they can freak out.
    Cheers

    You know it stands for 'Totally Envious Simon' don't you.
    There are many guys who love Cornish pedals but appreciation for a clip of one we haven't heard enough of.
    In the words of Wayne Campbell...'It will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine!'
    Enjoy and this clip gets the shNobel Peace Price for services to pedal lovers.

    Hello, i would recommend the Strymon El Capistan, in my opinion it comes close to the TES, it has a very good sound.

    Fantastic reviews and comparisons shnobel! Really enjoy your channel! What would you say is the closest delay to the Cornish TES? I'm after something with the same lush thick repeats but with a smaller footprint and price. Regards, Rick

    Hey Shno, where do you buy your Cornish pedals from? Do you get them direct or like ebay?

  • @shnobeltone
    @shnobeltone  12 лет назад

    Nope this pedal does not have or support Tap tempo, i asked pete about it, and he said that the chip that is used in this delay pedal does not have the Tap tempo compatibility.

  • @shnobeltone
    @shnobeltone  11 лет назад

    I get them direct from Pete, theres a long waiting list for some of the pedals

  • @shnobeltone
    @shnobeltone  12 лет назад

    @wairuauriaw You have to Email him, theres a long wait time for his pedals, visit his website, or if youre lucky there are dealers who have some of his pedals, or try looking ebay.

    Could you tell me how you do your work with Pete? How much would this pedal run me? Could you get me one? Is there any used units if there is too long of a waiting list for a new one? I need one for tour in a few months.

    dry on/dry off sounds a lot like a Fender variable delay(oil can). wish I could afford a pedal like that. one of those costs more than my Eventide Eclipse. *yikes!*

  • @thesimulations8900
    @thesimulations8900 7 лет назад +2

    Hmm, should I get a Space Echo + an Exhoplex + a Moog delay or this $3000 digital delay? Really tough call. How fucking stupid!

    • @nu11hall
      @nu11hall 6 лет назад

      get on his list. It will cost you far less than $3,000. Only rich idiots buy these second hand on Ebay. I am next on his list and I will NEVER sell mine. I have a Space Echo 201, a red EP3, dozens of DOD, Boss, Maxon, etc... 300ms analog delays (with the MN3005s), I have a Tone Czar Echo Czar, a Way Huge Aqua Puss, WH Super Puss, EH Memory Man Deluxe. Plus others that I can't think of (I have a Musitronics DD rack!). This is among the very best there is. Oh, even a Diamond Momory Lane. The original big one with MN3005s. It's similar but I like The TES because it is built like a tank and it's Pete Cornish for crying out loud!!!

    For the price of this on the market you could buy a Binson Echorec... which is not a tape, but is better.

    There are many echos on the market as good as this the same with all Cornish pedals , they do what they are supposed to and are all outstandingly filtered/ buffered without losing the classic sounds they try to emulate , but there is very little to choose between all high end makers , and put this against a Fulltone TTE it does not sound anything like as good , its just as it says ...a simulator ...

    • @zodiacbluesbaby
      @zodiacbluesbaby 10 лет назад

      What there is to choose between these and the rest is the price... two grand (£) used for one of these ugly boxes, you're paying for Pete Cornish's resume.

    • @nu11hall
      @nu11hall 6 лет назад

      Tape Delays are superior to EVERY analog tape delay. They can be noisy and finicky live especially. Tape heads require cleaning and the tape itself needs to be changed. It's a different animal. If you can get by with a Fulltone TTE or his new solid state then by all means, grab one of those! They are the shit! However, you will never have an issue with this especially gigging live!
