Sens fan here, Korpi is a much better goalie than the numbers show. The Sens horrific D is why Korpi was bad last year. You watch and see, he will shine with the Bruins.

A voice of reason thank god. And the converse is true too. If the Sens don’t get better defensively then they’re going to find out that Linus is not a saviour but a good goalie who depends on the guys in front of him in order to be good.

He played well on a bad Buffalo team too. Ullmark is the best goalie the Sens have had in a long time.

Another Sens fan here with another perspective. Korpisalo had a habit of letting the first or second shot of the game in, and frequently weak ones. He would often play lights out later in the game, but you could see the whole team deflate after starting from behind AGAIN every night. Ottawa did him no favour's, to be sure, but Korpi needs to show up ready to play to be successful. Can't keep thinking the first 10 minutes of the game don't count.

I knew sweeney would screw everything up. We get 2 plugs in kastelic and korpisalo. Bussi shouldve been the backup at 775k. I agree with u 100% that we dont need bottom 6 players. The 25th overall pick is late and after we have witnessed this debacle by sweeney hewill also screw up this pick. So how should we all feel about sweeneys ability being handed over 22miliion on july 1st? This is going to be another disaster in the making. Older players stupid contracts. Welcome my fellow bruins fans to the backes beleskey show part 2.

I'm a Sens fan .. I loved the goalie hug.. Ulmark really didn't do anything to lose the net and yet when Boston started to push Swayman ( being younger / cheaper I get it ) .. Ulmark still had a great attitude about it which says a lot about his character.. Thank you Boston for having 2 #1 goalies in a league where most struggle to just have 1.. Hopefully we fix our D makeup and take good care of your beloved Ulmark.

Ottawa media has suggested that the Sens were unwilling to make the trade unless Korpisalo was accepted by Boston, While Korpisalo had a bad year in Ottawa, the team in front of him was horrible so I'm expecting him to have a much better year in Boston. Korpisalo also has respectable playoff success, leading an average Columbus team to a win over a much more talented Leafs team. IMO Korpisalo will be a decent backup in Boston, should the Bruins decide to keep him.

You think Bruins going to trade that pick?

No. They should have kept Ulmark. We don't need a 3rd, 4th line center or a 3rd AHL goalie. What we d9 need is cap space. Which we got zero of. This trade was beyond dumb

I think you're forgetting to take onto consideration the fact that the Bruins have to pay a second goalie. You keep saying that Ullmark should've freed up 5Mil in cap space. But that's with only 1 goalie signed. Even if they used Bussey you'd have to pay him 1Mil. Instead we're paying an experienced NHL goalie who could be an excellent backup 3Mil. That's only a 2 million dollar difference. And that's just this year. Bussey would cost more than 1Mil after the first year.
I think the Bruins did ok in a situation where they had to trade Ullmark now in order to get some value for him. As fans we can always wish we got a better deal, but I think the first round draft pick is great. Korposalo is a decent value at 3Mil. If he plays well and stays 3 Million will be an absolute bargain in a year or two.

Not sure if you realize, unlike forwards and defensemen, goalies age like fine wine. The older they get, the better they are…up to a certain point obviously but through their 30s is nothing.

I really hope they flip Korpi because this trade is horrible for the Bruins. Bussi should be the backup and save the 💰.

He was not the #1 for 24-25, he has 1 year left, ntc for 15 teams. You need to sign Swayman. If Sweeney had paid $12mm+ in goal he would have been fired.
They were not getting McDavid, this is business, his value for the Bruins is not what you think, personally the hug BS ran it’s corse a long time again, I’m glad it’s over.

You say they needed to sign swayman but what's the difference between keeping a 4.5 million goaltender or trading him away for a 4.1 million goaltender the differences is one has one year left on his contract the other has four years left on his contract one was a Vesna winner last year and the other one is the worst goaltender in hockey ratings wise
