  • Essex Boys Triple Murder uncovered by Retired SIO Albert Patrick. The one you have been waiting for. Pat Tate, Tony Tucker & Craig Rolfe all met their fate when alledged gangland top Underworld figure Patsy Clarke ordered the show to end. All 3 had reputations of ignoring the rules and felt untouchable, until one day 6th December 1995. ‪@liquidbulletproductionz‬ ‪@EssexTrueCrime‬ ‪@CrimeScene2Courtroom‬ ‪@southendparaquest‬ ‪@essexboysthenandnow‬
'Protected Witness Unit (PWU): Designed to hold prisoners who are giving evidence or assistance to the police in cases of serious crime. All inmates are known to staff simply as 'Bloggs', followed by a number...'
In December 1995, the bodies of three men were discovered in a Range Rover in a quiet country lane in the Essex village of Rettendon. All three were well-known villains. Each been blasted in the head with a shotgun at point-blank range.
The search for the killers had almost ground to a halt when tensions within the gang involved boiled over and one member decided to break ranks. At first his story seemed too incredible to be believed, but as the evidence to support his version of events began to mount up, the motives behind the brutal murders became clear. The plot eventually uncovered involved everything from Irish terror groups and European smuggling rings to prostitution and police corruption.
Tony Thompson, crime correspondent of the OBSERVER, is one of the country's leading experts in the field of organised crime. Now, in this extraordinary book, he chronicles the rise of some of Britain's most powerful and notorious villains and of the man whose betrayal led to their downfall - the man known as 'Bloggs 19': arguably the most important supergrass since the time of the Kray twins.

As John Whomes has said in the past, if Jack was planning to commit a triple murder with Mick, he would get his brother to help him i.e be the getaway driver. Instead of someone he didn’t really know. That’s always stuck with me. It’s true. He would have wanted someone who he could implicitly trust.

That is not a notion, taking your brother, if the two brothers got done for murder, the mother would of died of shock, that would of been 3 murdered one man slaughter 🤣. That says nothing to me, Darren and Jack and Mick were a crime team. Taking his brother along, John Whomes would never of been party to that. A stupid plot two small time criminals going on a triple murder. They will say anything to free his brother from triple murder. John Whomes has chatted rubbish a few times, either he and his mother believes his brother is innocent or they do not. Even Jack's father said admit the crime Jack look after your mother. That's tells you where the family are, they doubt Jack.

The thing that always stuck with me is that the judge gave the 2 lads 15 year minimum each. Never heard of anyone carrying out a murder let alone 3 to not get life or even life without parole. Albert is a true pro a proper detective no bs

    • @mcalax5901
      @mcalax5901 2 года назад +4

      They did get life.
15 years was the minimum term. That was the tariff.
15 years is the lowest Tariff anyone can get over 18 years of age for a murder conviction.
“Life without parole” is an American term.
In the UK it is called a “whole life term”. At the time of these convictions in 1998 that sentence didn’t exist.
Jack Whomes is on parole for the rest of his life.
That’s how the system works in the UK. A life sentence comes with a minimum term or “tariff” which the Judge sets depending on the case.
All life sentences with a minimum term expire after 99 years.
You are not guaranteed to be released when the minimum term expires.
Michael Steele still hasn’t been released.

This is the best material I have seen on this subject. There are some very good amateur journalists on youtube but their mass of supposition has made anything possible. It's a bit like the jfk conspiracy and all that. The main aspect, for me, is a possible/probable miscarriage of justice and that should concern anyone. It is fascinating to listen to this man's observations and to learn about police procedure. Blundell's interview suggested Tucker was the person that gangland was most unhappy with so maybe Mr Patrick's overview fits in with this. I read somewhere that Mr C. Leach was exonerated from something linked to activities in Canning Town, so maybe he could shed some light on the root conflict, though I'm probably being naive in typing that. Thank you for making and uploading.

09/12/95 - STATEMENT of DAVID LLOYD REEVES
I am a self employed bricklayer and have been working in King's Lynn, Norfolk. I normally leave home about 0615 each morning and travel along the A130 top Chelmsford and then pick my way through the back roads to work. On Thursday 071295 I left home at between 0615 and 0620.
I drove my normal route and went through Rettendon about 0650. The traffic was quite heavy going through the village presumably due to the weather. As I came out of the village and went round the left hand bend and down the hill, I saw a white Ford Cosworth on my offside.
The car was white in colour and was very clean. This is what made it stand out to me because the roads have been very dirty due to the weather. It was definitely a Sapphire style Cosworth with spoked alloy wheels and a spoiler on the boot lid. It was a full spec vehicle with low profile tyres.
It was parked on the pavement facing towards Southend in a gateway or access with its two drivers side wheels on the road. It was parked in such a way that it wasn't causing a problem because cars were driving past it. Although the light was poor and it was necessary to have main beam lights on, I am sure that there was no one with this vehicle.
I would put the age of the Cosworth at approximately F or G registration. I did not see the vehicle index but I estimate the age by the style of the car and the fact that it had the square rear lights instead of the wrap around lights. The car was only in my view for the time that it took me to drive past, and was only the distance of the road width away from me.
I am sure no one was with the car. On my way home I heard the radio news regarding the incident at Rettendon that day and upon passing through the area again I saw that the spot, where I had previously seen the Cosworth, had been taped off and a police officer was standing there. I estimate I passed the spot at 2000.

A few thoughts for Albert and TMI.
No 1. The mechanic who saw the range rover going in the opposite direction after locking up. He estimates it was 6.05pm as he had locked up. Also the car Tate was supposed to pick up for his girlfriend was not there the next morning. So who picked it up? Was it Tate? When was it delivered to her and by who, as, they would have to drop off the keys with the car. The girlfriend needs to be re-interviewed by TMI. This ties in with Ms Carr's statement and timeline.
    2. The call from Saunders to Tate and the call by Tucker to the restaurant to rearrange the number seating for the meal. The manager said it was shortly before 7pm. How shortly before 7pm, 10 mins, 5 mins, 2 mins. He was never interviewed and never took the stand.
These two calls, there timings and position, pings and location of the Range Rover between those two calls l think can prove they were not on Workhouse lane at the time DN says they were. Everybody forgets about Tuckers call to the restaurant and what location they were in when he made it. This is key, as, the two phone calls would show two different locations for the Range Rover and the timescale between them.

For too many years, it's been used as an entertainment football by the likes of the master of bullshit - Bernard O'Mahoney purely in order to cash in on other peoples's suffering. Is it just a coincidence that Darren Nicholls broke down at the Wheatsheaf in Rettendon on the 5th December.
A further coincidence that Jack drove to Rettendon to collect the car (61 miles away from his home) on the 6th December and was there at 7pm. The same time that Tucker and Tate stopped using there mobile phones?
Coincidentally phone calls were made to Tucker from a payphone located 5 mins from Jack's place of work 4.5 hours earlier. Same pay phone was also used to call Nicholls.

It seems to me that the real problem and confusion with this case stems from the testimony of Nicholls, which is so cleary falsified and scripted.
If Jack had no idea TTR were in Rettendon on 6th December and he was just picking up a car from the Wheatsheaf, it is the most incredibly unfortunate coincidence. Especially as Jack, Mick and Darren had been involved in Drug smuggling with TTR throughout the weeks and months prior to the murders.

The central feature of Alber t s case is that Darrens car broke down at a pub called The Wheatsheaf. Later on Jack responded to an appeal from Darren to rescue his car .Jack's response ..according to Jack ....and Albert......was to travel from Suffolk...that evening..in dreadful weather...to assist the man he didn't particularly like...Coincidentally ....according to Albert and Jack....at the time Jack arrived and was examining the car.....down the road on a farm track three men who Darren and Jack were closely associated with were being shot to death....Jack's phone call to Darren ...4 seconds.....made at that time was to tell Darren he had picked up the car...and had nothing to do with the slaughter going on down the road involving their partners in crime

That's all well and good but you are lacking several crucial parts that should lead to a conviction one being any physical evidence.
No tyre tracks from the passats 4 different brands of tyres. No footprints from two large big footed men anywhere in the lane.
      No DNA
      ect ect ect.
Nichols story is garbage and doesn't stack up to the slightest bit of scrutiny.

      Hello Kevin
Can I make five brief points
1...In Nicholls favour he does at least offer is an
explanation. for the 6 .59 ...four second call ...Jack to Darren.....please don't say it was about Darrens broken down car
2.....Nicholls stood in the witness box for many days under, presumably , close questioning. The jury also heard from Whome s and Steele who had an opportunity to convince them what they were up to that day.........we know how the jury felt about all these competing voices
3Footprints....presumably none to be seen on the other side of the pad locked gate....none recorded that would have given some support to Jasper s Mr D when this story emerged in Jan.
4.....Not sure what DNA you would have expected to find...if Jack had just leaned into the vehicle and had worn overalls and gloves nd Michael had worn overalls of some sort....presumably they tested for finger prints and found nothing

    • @KevinHoey1
      @KevinHoey1 2 года назад +3

@@brunohen2909when I refer to no DNA I mean there was non in the range rover but also more crucially non in the Passat even though according to Nichols jack and Mick had blood and bits of brain splattered on them.
The first thing I would of asked Nichols in the witness box was why his story changed so much throughout his numerous interviews.
Why did he say originally than the reason for the murders was the money owed to the mullock brothers that tate had borrowed? Then completely change the reason to being because of the bad weed deal. I presume you know who the mullock brothers are?
Nichols is an out and out bullshitter.
So no DNA from the 3 deceased in the Passat.
No footprints anywhere down the lane of whomes and Steeles size 12's even though Nichols says they were wearing brand new wellies.
Not one tyre track matching any of the 4 different tyres on the passat that went in and out of the lane twice. No oil from the leaking gear box and engine of the Passat.
No witnesses of the car going in or out of the lane twice at rush hour.
So Steele and whomes according to Nichols are happy enough to use a battered old heap of a passat that's totally legit and registered to Nichols to go and commit triple murder.
Nichols says they both shot them but ballistics expert says one gun used.
It's absolutely ridiculous to think Nichols story is true.
Would you go and commit any serious crime let alone alone triple murder in your own car with your plates on?

Apologies for misspelling surname last time...my incompetence not lame attempt at humour
Will make a few brief points and then drop out because we could carry on doing this until one of us dies
      You seem to believe that
1.....Footprints would inevitably have been left by killer or killers
2....W and S footprints not there
      3......Therefore they were not there
If this is correct am I not entitled to ask where the footprints of the real killer..s.....are......a partiial size 7 near the car isn't much to offer me
Secondly...the registration plate on the Passat....men who can offer the pantomime alibis S and W offered the jury at The Old Bailey are capable of all sorts of idiocy
Thirdly..As I understand it Jack was keen to be shot of the Passat after the killings and didn't want the car traced back to him.....suspicious ...perhaps?
Fourthly..you correctly state that witnesses didn't report seeing the Passat entering and leaving the lane around the time of the killings but this puzzle also extends to the car occupied by your killer or killers...no one vehicle was seen entering and exiting the lane shortly before and shortly after 7
Anyone walking up the alt lane and then up the track would on your analysis have left footprints..or tyre tracks
Lastly you say ..DN mentions two guns being used....this you say is untrue
But....all we know is that there were 8 wounds..7 cartridge cases from the one shotgun....see Mr Burns for their location
It's. possible...shooter.one fires 7 shots and leaves all 7 cc'd on ground..shooter two..different weapon fires one shot and picks up his cc

@@brunohen2909no apology needed and no offence taken.
I agree we could go back and forth forever but neither of us know what really happened we are just summising based on what we know.
There were vehicles seen entering and leaving the lane around that time. If memory serves me right a green coloured range rover seen entering the lane and a white escort van leaving.
If the green range was carrying the killer they would have driven all the way down the lane hence a lack of footprints. Its not to much of a asumption that the green range rover might have the same tyres on as rolfes plus mr theobalds land rover has also traveled down there and out again possibly disturbing any tracks...In close proximity to the range rover footprints would obviously been disturbed by jiggins and theobald and God know who else as the initial crime scene management seems woeful.
The cartridge numbers and possibility of 2 shooters as you say is possible there's no denying that but here's were I am on that.
At first I dismissed this theory but having thought about it it makes sense so here goes.
Tate was supposedly renowned for leaning forward between the two front seats and if you look at the grazing shot wound to the back of tates head I believe this shot carried on to hit tucker. If you look at that wound and think of the trajectory where would tates head have to be positioned for that wound to be inflicted? So in my opinion there were actually 7 shots and 7 cartridges 8 wounds.
So rolfe is shot first then then second shot skims tate and hits tucker and tate recoils back and is then shot in the liver then the finishing shots are administered.
The size 7 print would indicate a smaller person probably weighing far less than Steele and whomes both of which were around the 18 stone Mark and both taking far larger shoe sizes.
Any number of scenarios are more plausible than Nichols version.
One thing Steele is not and that's an idiot and to dismiss the use of the passat as Steele and whomes being idiots due to alibi's they've had to come up with 5 plus months later is a bit much.
Again I ask would you go to carry out a triple murder in a legit motor with legit plates that you know is a bag of shite at rush hour? You wouldn't nobody would it's insane.
But Nichols would have you believe a engineer, pilot, drug smuggling career criminal is all of a sudden going to go temporarily insane and do such a thing.
Nichols version of events makes absolutely no sense and his later evidence contradicts his earlier statements. Nichols was used by corrupt police to fit up Steele and whomes which is apparent by the disappearance of the mullock brothers in Nichols evidence.

It’s someone who is so calm and new how to use a gun in a very panic moment. The problem for me with this mr D, if he was the killer do most honestly think he would of done it him self? This sort of high profile gangster just makes a phone call and the job is done they don’t really put them selfs in a position like that well I would of thought anyway. To be a very good high profile gangster it needs many many back up people and it’s not a lone wolf job. This as been brilliant though super hooked again

Mind you i suspect one of TM Eyes team has visited Jack since his release; and probably spoken at length with him. Albert Patrick; and dave Mckelvey have visited Mick Steele in prison, so no reason why they haven't been to see Jack Wholmes, they may have visited hm when he was in an open prison, before his release. I hope Jack is getting round to writing a book in this time.

@James Waldron Well you know, perhaps this is just the true nature of Jack, he just wants to be quite; and peacfull; and wishes to remain in the background, until Michael Steele is released, out of respect for Micks family; and his own in particular his elderly mother. It wasn't just Jack that did the time, his mother did it with him,i think perhaps mother's feel it more keenly than others, she was a Strong loyal woman whilst jack was in prison, she deserves some loyalty back now; and i think jack realises this. He may speak in years to come, perhaps not until after his mum has passed.

The one issue of Jaspers account is the phone silence from the three men after 7pm. It seems very strange that they didn't contact anyone about the arranged meal at the restaurant. Tucker phoned to increase the number of people but didn't phone to cancel which is bizarre and none of them contacted their partners to explain why they couldn't go. Nichols account is unquestionably a lie and Jasper's account is without doubt a more plausible story but that phone silence is a real issue for me.

It is definitely sound reasoning to believe, their was a problem, all of those unanswered calls. They obviously did much business from their mobile phones, as it's clearly reasoned, Tony's mobile alone had 26 messages, I do have an issue also with that total silence. If they were in a pub after 8pm on that night, they would of been answering those calls, granted they would of been more selective, in who they answered, as they were letting down the girlfriends for the celebration meals, they were loud people so they would've been showing off with their business popularity, Tony would of given certain people respect of a conversation I am sure, to keep things tidy, less to concern the mind with, when business calls are quickly settled. They would of cancelled the dinner dates, as it has happened before, where Tony did cancel, even the owner of the restaurant said they would of cancelled the tables, out of respect, as it was there place to eat, when meeting up together. They knew the staff. Even with new evidence things are still not ringing true. 😄 These one witnesses statements, sometimes are not fitting together. If two witnesses seen things, then we could conclude a better picture. I think even some of these witnesses are lying to keep the guessing going.

      Yes at last !
About 18 months ago on a Crime scene to courtroom video it was said that the three were seen in one the two pubs that Alberts just mentioned at gone 8 pm, also either the landlady or one of the staff was related in some way to Kevin Whittaker.
The lad who Tucker & Rolfe supposedly murdered,so if we assume this is true they were not shot down the lane at 6.55pm.
So is it possible that the three were slipped some knock out pills or sedative type of substance then subdued ,got into their Rover or another vehicle(s) at gunpoint, driven to another location , questioned or left to stew until around 11 pm ish put back in the vehicles maybe Rolfe & Tate in the Rover with 2 gunmen then driven to the lane.
Tucker at gunpoint in the other vehicle when all there he's forced back into his Rover because he was the only one found with mud on his boots.
Then kept until Jaspers passenger turned up & did the job.

I don't believe Jack Whomes pulled the trigger... I don't even think he was part of the murder plot.
I believe that Jack, Mick and Darren were privy to whatever deal was going down in Rettendon that night, they were involved in that deal in some way.
The most likely scenario in my opinion based on all of the evidence I've seen is that Jack, Mick and Darren met with TTR at some point prior to them heading to the lane, possibly to collate money for the drugs deal.
TTR then went to the location to await the drugs (at this point they probably went dark and stopped using the mobile phones as instructed by the suppliers) When the supplier arrived as they expected, instead of handing over a consignment of drugs they were killed.
Darren Nicholls testimony is clearly falsified and scripted to fit a narrative which distances himself from the events all together
Nobody knows how the killings actually happened or the exact mechanics of the shootings. Because there is no eyewitness testimony of the killings and no one has ever admitted it. Therfore that leads to quite alot of myth and conjecture surrounding what actually took place.
Finally which of TTR criminal associates involved in Drug smuggling would they have trusted enough to go down that lane to a meeting but who they did not fear??

      1) We simply do not know what each person's role was. The detsils of conversations that took place that day have never been disclosed by Steele and Whomes.
      2) I don't know exactly where Whomes was as the mobile evidence cannot accurately pinpoint the exact location, possibly at Wheatsheaf, the alternative lane or somewhere else. I believe that Whomes, Steele and Nicholls were probably meeting with TTR that night and were in some way connected to whatever drugs deal was supposed to be happening that night.
      3) I believe they were lured there for a supposed drug deal by associstes they trusted but did not fear.
I am just looking at the evidence, totally disregarding Nicholls statement as it has clearly been falsified and scripted to distance him from any knowledge or involvement in the entire episode.
The extensive circumstantial evidence surrounding Jack Whomes in particular is something that needs to be addressed more.
