Mr Woodall is a cracking interviewer. He respects his guests but also shows none of the fear or excessive deference that too many weak interviewers do. He’s relatable and down to earth but doesn’t let the interview wander off into the long grass, keeps it to the point. He also doesn’t have a big ego, knows not to make it all about himself, that allows him to skilfully draw great stuff out of his guests. This channel deserves to grow and grow.

When Carlton related the story of how his father was the real hero for working so hard to provide for the family it reminded me of The Jam (Paul Weller) song 'Just Who is the Five O'clock Hero?' The man who goes out and puts the bread on the table for the love of his family as Carlton said is a hero in the real world. Respect and thank you for a valuable insight into a time that has flown by like a river.

What people tend to forget is that Essex was full of people like Pat Tate especially in the 90’s the truth is he was small fish! He drew to much attention to himself and his firm by his behaviour! and he had two willing sheep in Rolfe and Tucker. This is another story which has been blown out of proportion by publicity and the original Essex Boys movie! Rise of the foot soldier is a piss take of it and it’s very funny and way more insightful but let’s have it right! Tate, Tucker, and Rolfe were little boys in a big man’s world and they fucked off the wrong people in the end! That’s the trouble when you get high on your own supply and you think you’re invincible lol 😂

Just came across this channel and spot on 👌🏻!! Brilliant way he interviews, just like a chat down the pub and such a relaxed flow. Always good listening to carltons stories.
Great interview. I actually trained Carlton for a couple months a few years ago, a nice guy. Gear back then to be honest was very good, no underground rubbish.
Don't usually listen to this stuff, but wow what a awesome watch and listen; listening to the rave day's, I'm 53 and was there, and it was absolutely mental, just awesome times 😊
The beauty of this series for me is that 20 or so years ago, I read a lot of these lads books. I’m not a reader, but loved the Firms, Hard Men and ‘celebrity gangsters’ books. Now 20yrs on, I get to relive those times but hearing it from the horses mouth. And Dodge deserves a TV slot, he’s that good an interviewer IMO.
Great interview. Pissed meself when Carlton described taking the E and getting stuck to the floor and holding hands to get across the dance floor. Like finding god or something earlier describing how he walks into a rave and sees everyone hugging and saying they loved each other. Such a great character. It's a shame that after watching ROTF 1-4 that he was stitched up with 3 and 4. Now subscribed to the channel 👍
For me no disrpect its my life my older brother who left me to fight for his team Partick thistle am here now don't fuck we me duck head I love you all but my love beets you always xxxx
I've been fascinated by the Range Rover murders for ages and obviously seen ROTFS. Never watched anything with Carlton before and he's very interesting to listen to. And I totally agree about Terry Stones portrayal of Tony Tucker in the sequels, goes from being a likeable bloke, bit of a dick in the first one to basically a cartoon character in the rest. Nice work Dodge, really enjoyed this.
Pleasure meeting Carlton in 2008 when he came to Peterborough to promote the first ROTFS came in my shop with Dave Courtney his wife and sorted him some Garms out then was kindly invited to Radius Lounge to see an evening with him ..absolute Gent
When Carlton says he knows who, and how they ended up down that lane, but he don't know who pulled the trigger. It makes me think that Mickey steel did have something to do with it (the set up) but Whomes was innocent, because I have seen Carlton say in a recent interview with John Whomes that he thinks Jack was totally innocent, but wasn't so sure of steeles innocence. It makes me think Steele may have lured them to the lane, yet someone other than Jack Whomes or mikey steele pulled the trigger.
@@BobsYirUncle mick was there too, the call Nicholls told the bent cop about Sara calling pat proves micky was there in the jeep, 4 mins later there all dead no more phone contact between all 6 after 7pm apart from one from jack to Nicholls at 7pm after been in touch Al day, Nicholls couldn't make it all up but was a willing part of a triple murder facing life he's put mick and Jack in to get off, rolfe wasn't meant to be there, he told his wife they were meeting micky the pilot, tucker or tate told no one, dibleys lead from day one, once the bent cop was arrested Nicholls was the only man admitting everthing to him that's were it all went wrong for nicholls, went in on a bars of dope charge, ended up on a triple murder assassination, the style of murder proves they were someone personal who hated them, only Ms could have got them to the lane unarmed and leave the door open and all were due back for 7pm so nothing was getting dropped that night, they were shown the field were the tax was meant to happen. In the american mafia movies you see its always someone really close to the intended target that has to pull the trigger. It definitely had to be someone really close to them, take your pick really, they probs had a lot of close friends they trusted, it could of been craigs close friend, tuckers close friend, or tates close friend.

West Ham were no way the most multi cultural firm around back in the day! Birmingham, West Brom and Leicester all were more mixed than West Ham ever were. And yes nobody can ever deny that West Ham were one of the best, but numbers played a big part.
Maybe this was a police bust gone wrong and covered up. Maybe even intentional after the Leah Betts thing, with her dad being in the police force. However, I don't think you'll ever get to the bottom of it, because the 3 of them had bullied and harmed so many people.
Dan According to Freddie Foreman . The Krays were going to Be whacked. Just before they got arrested . For good. Because they were bullying And pushing the wrong people around. Getting to big for their boots.
Not just the police force the notorious "flying squad" they were a law unto themselves and worked cheek to jowl with gangsters and drug dealers good chance it was the flying squad which is why the police weren't to keen on solving the crime, whole thing was a set up and this cunt was only on the margins and made a career out of rehashing something he knows very little about!!
Leah Betts dad said live on BBC news that he would kill the people (don't blame him) involved, video blocked on you tube he was head of firearms make of it as you want

@@HGee420 Spot-on fella.
@@HGee420 Thank fuck for that, a comment that's actually accurate and worth reading. Loved the film tho faf respect bud 🤙
Love your interviews dodge I'm new so I have tons to watch yet 😂😂😂
I’ve grown up in Forest Gate my whole life so it’s so interesting to hearing tales of it back in the day. Find all of this very interesting.
Smashing your content mate, moved out of UK 6 years ago and miss the real English talk. You interview people great mate. GJ (will recommend to my mates)
Good man Matt 👍🏼👍🏼
Wow this story was amazing! I was 11 when I first watched rise of the footsoldier and I’m 26 now.
The movie it’s self is what got me wanting to work in security BUT security in this day and age is not what it is made out to be!
Fantastic podcast and what a guy!
Great interview yet again Dodge.
Carlton a bit of an enigma in most interviews but you really got the most out of any I've heard. You have a knack for asking the right questions at the right time & that's a gift mate. ⚒️
Much appreciated David ⚒
Every football fan and old raver of a certain age knows of Carlton, respected from 1 end of the UK to the other, always enjoy what he has to say.
Me too
@@gemmamudd7167
Me three
Where was he at the Cenotaph? i am Millwall since 1976, never seen him at the Den either!
Nice to hear him mention the Zulu’s. I’ve not heard about them in years, a friend of mine was with them as a youngster. He’s so right about the little club firms. I’ve known a few and much respect. Cass was an idol of mine as a kid. 🥰
CASS IS MASSIVE...GREAT MAN...IM FROM A PLACE CALLED CASTLEFORD..IM A LEEDS SUPPORTER BUT LOVE WEST HAM AMMAZING TEAM N CREW....WERE ALL UK ERE ..UNLESS WERE BATTLING WERE GREAT FRIENDS...TOP MAN ....
Great Interview lads!! All the very best to Mr Leach. so good at telling it as it was.
Just came across this channel and spot on 👌🏻!! Brilliant way he interviews, just like a chat down the pub and such a relaxed flow. Always good listening to carltons stories.
Thanks Kidger 👍🏼👍🏼
Brilliant interview
Great interview. I actually trained Carlton for a couple months a few years ago, a nice guy.
Gear back then to be honest was very good, no underground rubbish.
Trained him in what?
@Travis used to cone into a small studio, some lifting that's all.
@@aaronbeazley7240 Ah ok cool
I love how the majority of people that have a life like this always look back to their dad and appreciate how hard life is on the straight and narrow
Excellent interview, great questions being asked and answered in an honest and free flowing manner…….. best I’ve seen in a long time
Glad you enjoyed Pete 👍🏼👍🏼
Don't usually listen to this stuff, but wow what a awesome watch and listen; listening to the rave day's, I'm 53 and was there, and it was absolutely mental, just awesome times 😊
Carlton my dad had bad dementia he was my best freind and ill never get over it love your podcasts be good Charlton regards david hunt
Conversations like this are important social history and its important to be recorded.
Interesting interview... gave me a chuckle when Dodge said to Calton... "You're a clued up fella" ...streetwise, but not clued up!
Kind words Chris 👍🏼👍🏼
Watch the films they ate great
Pleasure meeting Carlton in 2008 when he came to Peterborough to promote the first ROTFS came in my shop with Dave Courtney his wife and sorted him some Garms out then was kindly invited to Radius Lounge to see an evening with him ..absolute Gent
Funny that as jack is the only one out the two who admits being in rettendon that night
Nicholls portrayed as a drunk liar was higher up the chain than ttr, never worked but had a jag, Land rovers and motorbikes sain he sold a key or 2, he will have sold much much more, al the jasper stuff is lies why would they sit from 7pm til midnight in the cold down there to do a coke deal?? Plus jasper said he seen a sawn off and a handgun neither were used.
And the police says it was 7 at night but he just says it was the morning
In the american mafia movies you see its always someone really close to the intended target that has to pull the trigger. It definitely had to be someone really close to them, take your pick really, they probs had a lot of close friends they trusted, it could of been craigs close friend, tuckers close friend, or tates close friend.
@@2strokemxclassics Heard some where that Nipper Ellis dad was close pals with a police officer, AND HIS DAD WAS CONNECTED too, maybe they agreed with Mick steel to take them out, after the threats that they was going do serious harm to his family, and Nipper dad and pal was there waiting with only mick steel knowing and that darren nicoles heard and see some bits of the shooting? just a theory
Another great podcast with great, in depth, clever conversation Dodge. 👏
Proper talk at the end.
A great tribute to dad’s,
and a nice acknowledgment of his own🇬🇧👊🏼
Good interview
This is superb well done Dodge and Carlton, a fantastic and intriguing watch.
Not a fan of the subject but i was captivated, Well done Mr woodall as for Mr Leach made me smile with honesty and made m look at me own life amazing
I don’t get why Carlton says he wouldn’t be seen down a farmland at 3/4 o clock in the morning , when they say they were killed between 7pm and midnight ?
Hi Dodge this is a brilliant interview you are a natural. Carlton Leach is a brilliant interviewee an insightful brilliant interview. I must buy his book. Thank you to both.
Good man Haydon 👍🏼👍🏼
Just finished watching this and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I have always been aware of Carlton Leach from the hooligan documentary in the 80s about the ICF, I hope he finds peace and is allowed to be the grandad he wants to be.
All the best Carlton going forward, can't wait for another riveting podcast.👍🏾
Mark was involved in Arthur movies, especially Arthur 2 On The Rocks, Dudley Moore was afraid
Glad you enjoyed it 👍🏼👍🏼
Fantastic interview. Honest straight up chat.
This is Excellent Dodge!!can relate so much too the scene back in the early nineties Carlton mentions.
Carlton is so genuine.. Respect too you both.THANKYOU.C'mon U IRNZ!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it NH 👍🏼👍🏼
This was such an amazing interview. Well done and thank you. Have followed some of Carlton Leach’s life story for a while now. He is such an interesting, honest and refreshing person. Also, loved the way the interview was conducted. It felt like I was sat with a few blokes in a pub, listening to the stories of a seriously interesting person. Deffo looking forward to seeing what the channel does next.
Glad you enjoyed it Bryan and a load more to come in 2023 👍🏼👍🏼
Honest 🤣 back in the day he'd rob you for a couple of quid. Grubby little thug who only impresses the cowards who look up to him. Go worship a firefighter or someone of value to society.
very good interview and interviewer.Compelling
Loved this.moved himself in his final words about loving his kids.Hes a good man.
Really enjoyed this one 👌🏼👍🏻 I don’t think I have heard a so called Face not tell silly make believe story’s!
No surrender Carlton you boys are welcome in Glasgow anytime, top guys fantastic club
People seem to forget Millwall is on the Dark Side of the River. They were originally on the Island. West Ham are their natural rivals.
Carlton, Richard Burton is my cousin on my mother's side, nice to know your family looked after him on the ship, as a tough lad from a poor mining family he would have appreciated that more than you know, best wishes mate.
I'm Millwall but every one knows West Ham won the world cup. My growing up was pretty much the same as his
Both West ham and Millwall had black top boys but the press always tried to say we were NF
Millwall and West ham are the same people away from football they're great together until someone mentions football

Great interview dodge very insightful, had everything for me,im a midlander my great aunt was married to a canning town hammer i loved him to bits he had some wonderful stories so i can relate to a lot of this
West Ham were no way the most multi cultural firm around back in the day!
Birmingham, West Brom and Leicester all were more mixed than West Ham ever were. And yes nobody can ever deny that West Ham were one of the best, but numbers played a big part.
Cass pennant struggled to join West Ham and the ICF so it wasn’t as multi cultural as he makes out no
The way he describes his first experience on E is accurate AF😅
Maybe this was a police bust gone wrong and covered up. Maybe even intentional after the Leah Betts thing, with her dad being in the police force.
However, I don't think you'll ever get to the bottom of it, because the 3 of them had bullied and harmed so many people.
Dan
According to Freddie Foreman .
The Krays were going to
Be whacked.
Just before they got arrested . For good.
Because they were bullying
And pushing the wrong people around.
Aw shut up the police done it lol did I say aw shut up
Leah Betts dad said live on BBC news that he would kill the people (don't blame him) involved, video blocked on you tube he was head of firearms make of it as you want
Maybe lol

great interview! coud listen to carlton talk for hours
Ah! man , I'm listening to Carlton telling that story of popping the smartie and the hand dragging him into the club and he's took me right back to my 1st experience with E's back in Brum where I came up on my rush (love dove) on the dance floor at the Hummingbird and I fell over on the floor and couldn't get back up because my legs had gone. Wow! them were the days aye! never to be repeated. Thanks for this Dodge you've got another new fan of your podcast.

Similar story for me I was out in 1990 16/17 but too scared to take E plus the price 🤦🏼♂️ I was on YTS wages £29:50 a week with a tenner dig money so I took speed but my 1st E was leftover crumbs in what was a bag full of pink New Yorkers ooof I couldn’t stand never mind dance I just sat on the stage all night I didn’t go home for 2 days I was that nutted there must have been more than 1 pills worth of crumbs but I rarely took speed after that it’s a horrible drug 🤷🏼♂️ sorry for the rant ✌🏼💙👍🏼🏴
