She has an astonishing voice. Lacey has an astonishing voice. They both have very different sounds, but they both sound absolutely amazing.

If you are truly fans of Flyleaf you would be happy that they have decided to continue on and find a new singer. Several bands have done so successfully in the past. Kristen is not trying to replace Lacey. Kristen is the type to know and respect the fans love for Lacey. Kristen is going to find her own groove with Flyleaf while still being true to the fans. Kristen is an amazing vocalist and can hit notes with ease. The way she hits the high notes in this song gave me chills!
Just gonna point out to some people that Flyleaf aren't dead. They are "Fully Alive" and are going strong by the looks of things. I think Kristen has a brilliant voice and I love that she is adding her own twist to the band and not trying to be Lacey. Kristen isn't a carbon copy of Lacey so people need to stop expecting her to be. I love Lacey aswell , don't get me wrong, her voice and story are truly inspiring and I do miss her. But Flyleaf aren't gone. Lacey wasn't Flyleaf. She wasn't the only member. Give the guys some credit. And if you don't appreciate their new sound, the old records still exist so just stick to them.
I didn't think she could do it. That was amazing. I will certainly continue following this band after that performance. Hats off to you Kristen.

Kirsten isn't a bad singer, but she seems more like a pop type of person over hard rock. It's not entirely bad that the band trys to do something new, but everyone will miss old Flyleaf.

I'm new to fly leaf, but I think, after hearing both versions, that Lacey's "fire, fire" is better. Kristen's singing style just doesn't fit the hard rock style

I have had the opportunity to meet Kristen and she is someone who genuinely reaches out to connect with her fans. She has a genuine passion and is an amazing song writer. This was her first performance with Flyleaf and as a fan of both Flyleaf and Vedera for many years, I think that she did an amazing job! She takes her music seriously and has an extremely high level of commitment to taking care of her voice and finding her sound. She will give Flyleaf and the fans everything she's got.
I think Kirsten will do well on future flyleaf albums but when it comes to songs that lacey sang she doesn't have much of a chance in matching up, their voices are just to different

Flyleaf have no more that sound without Lacy. She was screaming in singing and was very emotional. Maybe she wasn't so good in live performance, but she was unique. This chick is just a plain singing girl like any from musical school.

The main reason I started listening to flyleaf was because of Lacey's testimony, it added so much to their songs. Now, even though the new singer is good, it feels like there's something is missing.
I hope I can get over that. Flyleaf has always been one of my favorite bands. I also hope that Lacey is kept as a writer for their songs. Her songs have always had substance.
Have been a huge Flyleaf fan. Obviously hate that Lacey had to leave but understand it was the right decision for her and her family. Hey, I like this new singer's voice. Sounds great on this particular song. Can't wait to hear more.
People if you love Flyleaf so much, you will support them no matter who leads in vocals. Every individual in the band made Flyleaf become something. Yes we will miss Lacey, but it was her decision to leave for her personal reasons. Kristen welcome to the Flyleaf family.
Taking care of a baby takes a shit ton of work. Lacey did what she had to do and wanted to be active in her son's life instead of pawning him off on a nanny all the time. I respect that more than anything.

WOW. I have been listening to Flyleaf since 8th grade and i am a senior in highschool now. When i heard that Lacey was done with flyleaf, i was a bit crushed by the thought. But I am proud to see that they are still an amazing band. I wish you so much luck Kristen. Though i will never forget Lacey and her legacy, Kristen is still a blessing to the band and you're if not a perfect replacement, you are more than enough. I am SO glad to say that i am a fan of Flyleaf!

I'm seriously going to miss Lacey being in Flyleaf, but this is also really good! It's bands like these that make me love the locals! I remember listening to them waaay back in like 6th grade. I mean, holy shit, I am now a junior in highschool. I just wish I had the oportunity to see them live when they were still a band as a whole and tell them how much they inspired me growing up. Time goes by fast and honesly I just wish Lacey alot of luck with her life and the same with the rest of the band!
I miss Lacey. Flyleaf has amazing musicians, but Lacey truly brought out all the passion and emotion from their songs.
1st impressions...... i love it! Yes, its not Lacey, and what she brought, the passion & emotion, can never be replaced. But, Kristen a great singer, amazing voice and adds a different element to this already amazing band. And the performance was immense as well! Look forward to seeing more :)
People need to start caring more about the music... instead of who's performing it. Honestly, Flyleaf changed their sound up quite a bit on this album, and I think Kristen's voice fits very nicely with it, and I guarantee she can sing their old stuff really well. She is extremely talented. Give her a chance. Just listen to the music and don't care who's singing it. The songs are what matter most.
Yes, we all miss Lacey, but Kristen has talent and the similar edge that we all loved in Lace! FLYLEAF is an amazing BAND! Respect their transformations as a band and as individuals!! THEY ARE AMAZING MUSICIANS!

I'm sure she's under immense pressure to fill in the legacy that Lacey has left behind, but there is simply no comparison. Lacey had passion, power and love vibrating through her voice. She sang every song from the very depth of her soul, with every inch of her heart.
There is no way I could look and listen to Flyleaf the same way without Lacey, but that doesn't mean I won't give this new girl a chance and listen to her voice. However, Flyleaf just won't be Flyleaf without Lacey.
I had my doubts at first and i didnt think that she would own up, but i like her and she did a pretty decent job on this song..cant wait to hear more out of her!! i wish lacey didnt leave because she is a great singer and i absolutely loved her but i hope that flyleaf can continue to grow

At first when I heard she was replacing Lacey, I flipped out. I thought she wasn't good enough to fill in for Lacey. Holy lsdkgfjls was I wrong... this is actually amazing. Flyleaf lives on and I'm excited to hear new things!
Its like watching a cover band with the new singer. No one ever admits it but we all know any band member can be replaced but the singer. You never really notice a new drummer, or new guitarist but a new singer makes it a new band.
I am a big fan of Flyleaf and until I heard this performance I was concerned because Lacey is so good I know I will miss her talent and what she contributed to this band. BUT this performance gave me chills even when I listened to it more than once!
I love Flyleaf the band in general, unlike most people who just idolize the lead singer, however, I have a personal connection to Lacey... It's because of her, her life's story, her personality and her voice that I'm still alive. I was able to be strong, because she was. I hope Flyleaf and their new singer luck and I will continue to support them...but I don't think I will ever truly accept her.. I love Lacey too much. =/

I'm listening to this and I'm hearing what Lacey would sound like? Even the way she would pronounce 'fire', it's literally left me craving her voice.
I think Kristen will grow into Flyleaf. She is probably singing so precisely because the audience knows this song with Lacey's voice and she doesn't want to ruin the experience for anyone. Also, because the song was written for Lacey to sing, how much feeling and understanding can Kristen have of the story behind it? Once the band starts bonding and writing music for Kristen I feel that she will show her passion in song more. I'm willing to give her a chance and wait to see.

Kristen sounds good. I will def miss Lacey and her awesome dancing on stage. That was always the best part of seeing them live. She was always so fun to watch.
the more I watch this video the better I like it. Kristen is great. everybody is just used to Lacey's voice. I think when its all said and done she will fit in great. I love Lacey but I am not so selfish that I dont respect her choice. Flyleaf will always be in my cd collection. God Bless all!

Like everyone else, I'm sad that Lacey left the band, but after watching this video, I still have total confidence in the band. I loved Kristen in Vedera, and I think she will be great in Flyleaf. Nobody is ever going to sound just like Lacey, and that is completely okay! If she did sound exactly like her, people would still hate on her! I think everyone needs to step back and give the new singer a chance -- She'll do great.
shes a great singer and i think people will like her more and except her more when she is the one singing on the albums and helps write the songs. flyleaf is still a wonderful band.

For the people who keep whining about Lacey...snap out of it she wants to be with her family now. Feel blessed that the guys are continuing and have balls to keep going without Lacey. She wasn't the only one in the band you know! These guys are talented and I'm grateful they are continuing! Stop comparing Kristen with Lacey they are two diff people with diff singing voice. Good job Kristen! & I can't wait to see them on tour :)
The only real problem I have with the new Flyleaf is that I'm afraid they won't mean what they used to mean. Honestly, what Lacey brought to the band wasn't just her beautiful singing voice, but her love of the music she wrote, her moving testimonies before shows, her spirit. That's something nobody can ever replace.
Kristen is a great singer, but what I really hope is that she writes her own songs, sings with more meaning, and brings her own spirit to the band, and not cover Flyleaf songs.
Wow. I knew Kristen was good, but I wasn't expecting her to fit as well with the music as she does. I don't think they could've picked anyone much better than her to fill Lacey's place. I already love her :)
Oh my goodness the new singer for Flyleaf is great! I'm just like all you guys who love Lacey and will miss her so much. She brought so much to the table and provided a certain feel and stage performance to the band, not to mention her voice is fabulous, but I believe this girl is just what they need to continue on. She's good for the band and I think Flyleaf can still succeed if we give her a chance.
Nobody can replace Lacey. That's why Kristin is different but she still does a pretty good job and this is my favorite song on the new album.
