I am a very devout Christian. I love Jesus with all my heart and soul. So I was thrown off a bit by it. Im not familiar with the band but was there something going on with the band at that point? Jesus being born of Mary but not of Joseph is not a problem according to Jewish history because I believe during the reign of Queen Alexandra Jewish law made Heritage pass on, by matrilineal Bases. A basis for the Trinity can be established in the Old Testament by passages like Amos 4:11Isaiah 48:16.. and Judges chapter 2:1 and Daniel 7:9-14 Support for the idea of God becoming man in Scripture are Deuteronomy 18 verses 15 to 18 Focus of the verse speaks of the coming Messiah coming from lineage of Israel like unto moses. We also have Exodus chapter 23 verse 20 and 21 the context of which is speaking about the future Endeavor of going over Jordan then we come to Joshua chapter 5 verses 13 to 15 and the context of this passage is having just gone over the Jordan into Israel. Another proof of this idea perhaps most glaringly Jeremiah chapter 1 verses 4-10... the first thing you want to pay attention to is titles in verse 4 and verse 9... Hashem and the word of the Lord these titles are used interchangeably there's some definite implication there but the point of emphasis here is verse 9 because it goes a little further than just anthropomorphic language. Now the next concern is did Jesus ever claim to be God? And for this the scriptures I would provide are Matthew 26:64 Jesus directly quotes Daniel 7:13 John 10:34 Jesus claims to be the judge in Psalm 82 referencing verse 6 In John 10 versus Both 11 and 14 Jesus Yeshua says that he is the Good Shepherd and you can cross-reference this with the very first line of Psalm 23. In Mark chapter 6 starting from verse 45 Jesus walks on the water this is something designated in the Old Testament for something only God (job 9:8) can do this separates Jesus from the other people who did miracles. Where another claim would be is in the fact that Jesus forgives sins, off the top of my head is Mark chapter 2 now certainly there have always been Messianic claimants but none of them have ever claimed to forgive sins. Now the question becomes why would Jesus so secretive why didn't he just come out and say that he was the Lord God of Israel?... well one scripture off the top of my head of that I would provide here that might be interesting is this Matthew 16:20 "then he commanded his disciples that they should tell no one that he was Jesus the Christ"... my suggestion to you here, would be that the crucifixion how to take place at a certain place at a certain time and under a specific set of circumstances. Please Look into all the scriptures I made mention here I hope this helps even one person Hashem bless everyone of you... in the name of Jesus both son and God of David king of Israel, amen!

Who else is jamming to this song 10+ yrs after this song was released? This takes me back to when times were good. If I could live in an Era forever, for me,this would be it.
I wish I knew her in person. I’m so fucked up with bipolar bullshit I continplate killing myself because life was better when I was a kid. Now everything feels like shit. I hate my life myself and everything in it. I can’t stand being here . I wake up every day in the same pain both physical and mental. I just can’t stand life rn.
She spoke at our church today in New Mexico. Amazing testimony. Her vocals were absolutely electrifying and mesmerizing in person. She is an absolute blessing of authenticity ❤️
3:00 - 3:10 why after so many years do we still only have less than 10 seconds of such a powerful breakdown. I'm pretty sure everyone agrees that's the best part of the song.
She made this song Bc she was gonna commit suicide but God came to her and saved her so she wanted to share and make a song about how God saves her life.
My mom loves Flyleaf. I grew up listening to their songs 'Sick' and 'Fully Alive' but this is definitely my favorite. This era of music is my favorite place. I wish it could be like this again. Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Linkin Park, Seether, my childhood.
Coming back so many years later and I finally understand the deep meaning. "I can feel You all around me, thickening the air I'm breathing, holding onto what I'm feeling, savoring this heart that's healing" is talking about the Holy Spirit moving in the midst of prayer/worship. I experienced this multiple times while saying my prayers at nighttime. Believers rejoice because it is the craziest yet calmest peace and most incredible enveloping experience. We know everything will be okay because the Spirit reassures us like the Bible says He would. I'm so thankful for Jesus' sacrifice and His asking of the Father to deliver the Spirit to us. Thank You, God
I just want to say that I 100% agree with that, but I have known that for a while now, I don't think of it as only the holy spirit though, it is more then that, it is power and love flowing through you or others to help the ones they care for. It has nothing to do with ONE THING but has to do with everything.
This is a good song and after being 35 I still think so However there's something else that I want to address because usually people who listen to this are in the mode of thinking that any argument can be settled merely with emotion people have unknowingly adopted a worldview that says that "truth is relative rather than objective" or "if it feels good it must be right" this idea goes right under people's nose in plain sight however if this idea has taken to its full extent than this means that no one has any logical right or justification to complain about anyting.... for the person that thinks that truth is only relative I would only ask what keeps them from falling into nihilism (.. idea that nothing matters everything that everyone ever hope for a struggle for is ultimately meaningless life is meaningless)... because relativism lead you in two ways either nihilism or hedonism (Hedonism being the idea of living only for pleasure)... and we all know that can turn bad really quick then one will potentially find themselves justifying what find detestable... so for the person reading this, if this indeed applies to you or someone you know, then some food for thought...why would one be engaging in an idea such as the truth being relative or relativism when it potentially leads to so much harm, and based on an historical account of human nature, often does?... Ultimately the idea of Live and Let Live sounds good to our ears but does harm because it really devolve down to I'll let you get away with what you want to get away with if you let me get away with what I want to get away with.... and again with human nature being what it is, why even promote an idea like that?

I love how she gets so lost in her music, you can tell how passionate she is. I've been listening to this song for years and I'm nowhere near done listening to it. She is amazing.
I had no idea this was a Christian song until I read the comments. I started listening to Flyleaf when I was in Middle school and it holds new meaning for me with it being Christian music. ❤❤❤❤❤
Out of all the Christian Bands out there, Flyleaf is really in tune with channeling faith into their music while keeping up a suspense or "mystery of the kingdom of heaven" so it doesn't stick out as inherently religious and pushes people away. Just a great song, and fantastic band.
I have very bad religious trauma but I love God so much and don't blame for the things I go through. There's a lot of Christian music I can't listen to because it takes me back to a bad time in my life but this song always makes me feel God's love and it feels like He's reminding me who He truly is. If you also have religious trauma or are going through any trauma or anything similar I'm so sorry I know it feels like there's no escape and it's such a hard fight but I promise you Jesus is truly the only way to peace. Trust me I've tried so many things and He only gives me the things that I need. He loves you so much. No religion. Just Him❤
that’s so beautiful the love you have for God. Never turn away from him he loves you so much and I can’t wait to see you one day in Heaven, he’ll reward you greatly 🙏
same. I have such a visceral negative reaction to anything associated with Christianity or people who call themselves Christian but I truly have no ill reaction toward the Christian religion itself. I feel the same way about this song and this band in general. I think it's the intention behind it, you can feel when people are being genuine in their belief and faith and when people are using religion as a mask for hatred.
I’m still in the process of trying to strengthen my faith and finding Christ.. At times I’m very doubtful and feel I’m not worthy or even question Him and religion itself… but music like this gives me hope and helps me to really feel Him and his presence.. and to keep my faith alive.. Thank you Flyleaf, God bless.
This song helped me when my ex committed suicide. I remember crying myself to this for years, now it's more of a memory of him. It's been 9 years & this song will always be there for my darkest nights. I miss you Jay ❤
I'm not religious, this is the most beautiful song ever written For God, the music really complimented the lyrics, it's a great song. thank you Flyleaf
The story behind the song still brings me tears when I hear it. So many of us have had moments where it feels like there's noone there to help you but then help comes from a place you would have never expected.
I'm not able to believe, but I feel all of the faith that the whole band puts into his song. It honestly have me shivers when I first understood the message of the song. The whole album is brilliant.
Man, I thought I felt this song before, but the stronger my relationship with God gets the more real this song is. "Thickening the air I'm breathing" like that's just such a perfect description of how it feels to be overwhelmed by the Love of God. Man. I appreciate this artist so much, I hope I can see them in concert one day
i was just thinking about that when i decided to look up this song again to listen to it, its been a while since i heard it but sure enough it depicts the feeling quite well
The reason this Christian Rock band succeeded where so many before failed is because they're not over the top with the lyrics. They're not like Jesus this, Moses that, etc. They understand their audience. People don't listen to Rock music to have religious messages slammed at them. If people wanted that, they'd go to church or listen to traditional gospel music. Flyleaf found a perfect balance with delivering their message subtly enough that it will appeal to almost anyone, Christian or not, while not being so over the top about it that one feels as though one is at church listening to them. I love this band.
Didn't even know they were a Christian Rock band until you mentioned it. I've always liked them because of their style and ambiguity of lyrics' that can be interpreted in what ever way you want. So yea, your point stands!
When you can relate to the lyrics spiritually regardless of which religion you may follow is when it's a winner to me. I'm not christian nor religious, but I've always like Flyleaf and their lyrics.
She is happy to be alive. She contemplated suicide, and I think she talked to her mom about it, and her mom brought her to church. I guess the Pastor keyed in on this and talked to her about suicide and Jesus' Love, and she ended up becoming Christian after attending a few more times. That's at least how I was told the story goes. This song has parallel meanings that could be interpreted as love for Jesus or love for a significant other. Either way, this is good music. Not this mumble rap BS nowadays lol
2025!!!! After a week of emotional numbness I cried out to God to please let me feel something. I could feel my body warming from toes to the top of my head and I began to cry saying “I can feel you, I’m alive!!” After many years of hearing this song now I can relate. PTSD is very real but God is bigger!!! #Jesus4Life
For me, this song is for my mother I lost. We listened to this together all the time & she always told me “I’m connected to you by an invisible string we both can’t see. But just know I’m all around you”. It’s powerful for me. 4 years down & it still feels the same as the first 24 hours.
We used to worship to this song in high school youth group. It is very parallel to someone speaking to the HolySpirit/God. I love this song because so.
It's crazy, after all this time, how your music has never deluted. Always making me feel whole inside. Your message warms us, it fills the void within. Thank you for what you have done, it's more than you will ever realize. God bless, we love you.
@@Speakinghonestly God doesn’t make the bad things in this world happen it’s because of our own failures and how we can’t be civil as a human species. Jesus Christ is the only way you will receive true peace because he redeems you from the sins
Coming back to this song as a Christian. when I listened years and years before I was an agnostic/atheist. Never in a million years would I have ever thought I’d be a Christian. I use to think of it as just a girl missing her lover. Now it’s even more beautiful as love for God is so powerful.
I don't care what anyone says, Lacey is a top 5 female vocalist in this genre. Maybe even without the gender qualifier. She has such incredible range and bleeds emotion. Hard to find real emotion from this area but Flyleaf gives me chills every single time I come back.
I found this song maybe 5-6 years ago and still it hits my heart. There is no “mold” for how you have to be to love Jesus. He made us different and even our worship songs sound different and thats OK!! 🧡
I'm not Christian but I really relate to the lyrics in a sense that I can attribute them to a certain thing of my own. Not to mention how great this song sounds and how nostalgic it is. My dad used to play flyleaf in the car when I was a kid. He still does to this day.
There's something ethereal/otherworldly about Flyleaf's music that calms me and makes me hopeful; like there's a much better place awaiting me and my pain is temporary. I love this band so much.
Finally got the chance to catch Lacey, as a solo act, at a show in Iowa a couple months ago. I was genuinely impressed with her live performance. She brought the same energy and passion to the stage as she did in this video. She's definitely small, but mighty! It was a great set.
i looked them up after a few songs. They didn't acknowledge themselves as a christian band. More so as Christians "that happen to play in a rock band" and something like, that they're faith comes out in their music....blah blah blah :)
As someone who's an atheist, it's so refreshing to have a band that makes GENUINELY great music even if the original messaging isn't something I relate to this song can be interpreted (at least for me) into a love song
Thats the greatness about music you can give many interpretations. Funny enought Bring Me To Life had some people who made the exact same interpretation that you had but otherwise.

And for this the scriptures I would provide are Matthew 26:64 Jesus directly quotes Daniel 7:13
John 10:34 Jesus claims to be the judge in Psalm 82 referencing verse 6
In John 10 versus Both 11 and 14 Jesus Yeshua says that he is the Good Shepherd and you can cross-reference this with the very first line of Psalm 23.
In Mark chapter 6 starting from verse 45 Jesus walks on the water this is something designated in the Old Testament for something only God (job 9:8) can do this separates Jesus from the other people who did miracles.
Where another claim would be is in the fact that Jesus forgives sins, off the top of my head is Mark chapter 2
now certainly there have always been Messianic claimants but none of them have ever claimed to forgive sins.
Please Look into all the scriptures I made mention here I hope this helps even one person
Hashem bless everyone of you... in the name of Jesus both son and God of David king of Israel, amen!

This song is one of my favorites of all time. Truly beautiful.
Amen! She has a beautiful testimony!

There's a lot of Christian music I can't listen to because it takes me back to a bad time in my life but this song always makes me feel God's love and it feels like He's reminding me who He truly is.

She is happy to be alive. She contemplated suicide, and I think she talked to her mom about it, and her mom brought her to church. I guess the Pastor keyed in on this and talked to her about suicide and Jesus' Love, and she ended up becoming Christian after attending a few more times.
Bro same!
God is whispering to YOU

@@patriotpie2637 if you had read his comment past the word “atheist” then you’d know that your reply is exactly what he doesn’t like and would be the worst way to try to convert him
I don’t care how the music sounds if it’s praising my God I’m for it. Never knew this was about God till this year I love this song!
That's fuckin stupid
Sorry I take that back not all Christian music is bad
You should listen to "Song for the broken" by Close your eyes, another great one lol
go ahead and listen to yellowcard too... theyre pretty similar
You should listen to Thousand Foot Krutch songs!
Relient K is good as well.
I love Flyleaf so much they remind me of a heavier verison of Avril Lavigne imo. U should also check out Skillet, Red, Demon Hunter, Impending Doom, P.O.D. and Fireflight I love those bands as well 💜💯🎸
