    Just played this last weekend at the pacific pinball expo. Great machine, wish I could afford one!

    One of the best pins ever. I need one! It's just a shame that they didn't use the iconic Borg cube. They instead chose to use Lore's rogue Borg ship that was only used in one episode. Yeah, I'm a Trekkie that loves pinball.

    FarSight Studios managed to raise the money needed for licenses to digitize this table for The Pinball Arcade. I cannot wait!

    Getting the Final Frontier with all artifacts was insane and near impossible. I still remember getting into the Continuum Scoreboard with 16.5 billion points... never did figure out the different scoreboard meanings. The center hole has to be one of the biggest pains in the ass on any table I've played.

    I own this machine. It is, by far, the best pinball on the market!
    HOWEVER, it is also one of the most troublesome to keep in working order. Current sells for $3500 - $4000.

    This pinball game has a more dramatic story than most RPGs. That's... kinda awesome.

    Id make a comment about it all being gold because it has star trek on it BUUUUT this was made before some of the other movies came out so ill give the promo video from 1993 some slack.

    I remember playing this game hardcore while in summer day camp... the only mission I can recall is when you have to evac the Enterprise and they got the computer's voice! It was very authentic.

    They were like the hangover from the party that was the 80s. The video and computer games were good though.

    There are a few arcades out there with a lot of pins, but not many. It's really hard when there is only one pinball maker left and most of their games are lackluster. They haven't even upgraded the dot-matrix displays to color which is sad.

    can anybody remember 80's/90's radio using synth? used it for most of there jingles like i remember them using on kiis. those whooshing sounds, the drums and more! also the games were bomb!

  • @Joelomite
    @Joelomite 15 лет назад

    If I may add:
    Home consoles (PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 etc.) got MORE powerful than their arcade counterparts, which decreased income at the arcades (why pay 50 cents to play a game when you can buy it for $40 and play it endlessly)
    Maintenance also became an issue as pinballs got more complex. Much like a car with more moving parts: requires more maintenance. Videos only had joysticks and buttons.
    Moving on, maintenance costs surpassed earnings, which leaves us here today :-(

    The thing is that it's what you really want in life. The Wii system alone costs $250 right now. Maybe, when it came out, it was more money. You get one controller, no Wii Plus, maybe only one game. If you have 10 games, that a lot of money. They aren't cheap.
    Could it be a $1000 or more? Granted this machine could be $4000, but yet after buying the Wii, are those people also buying Playstation, and Xbox too?

    hey does anyone know where the clip of the enterprise firing like 5 torpedoes simultaneously at a ship and some asteroids is from? I was surprised since i couldn't remember which episode it was from (something tells me it was one of the ones where i switched since the first 20 mins didn't grab me! a.d.d. youths we are)thanks cool clip.

    Instead of spending money on shoes at let's say Carnival Shoe Store, Macy's, or even Kohl's, you might buy them at Kmart, Wal-Mart, or Target. Instead of going to the movies at night when it's like $9.50, how about going during the day on Sat or Sun, or before noon at some places, they have it for $5.00.
    Are you drinking a lot of expensive liquor, do you have a Lexus, are you always buying a new car, and are you always going to the arcade? I don't have a pinball machine, but...

  • @Predatorocks
    @Predatorocks 15 лет назад

    I think normal non-rich people could afford a pinball machine if they wanted to. I don't have a pinball machine because I would probably get bored with it after awhile only having one. Back to what I was saying, you can eat at Red Lobster during lunch time, or you can pay a lot more money at nighttime. I personally would never buy $60 shoes at Kohl's. That's ridiculous.

    ^^ it's possiblt from "Booby Trap" though I haven't watched this clip yet..but am a real Trek geek and think I recall.
    Here's a question...in this game , you'd put in a quarter and it would say "More Please!" with a funny voice...what was up with that?

    ha, does anyone ever actually make it to the end on one quarter and how many people who ever played this game actually knew there were "missions" to do. lol. there was only one pinball machine i have ever defeated on multiple quarters and that was the 25th one. spent 4 bucks making it the only one i have ever beaten.

    Yeah, the '80's were totally better. Extreme overuse of synthesizers, the high-water mark of sexism, some of the most ridiculous fashions in history, the most lackluster sports cars ever made, outright materialism, social class polarization, Punky Brewster, nosedive of consumer goods quality, the epitome of pressure to be "cool" in youth culture, drug excess and AIDS. AWESOME.
    (Amadeus, the Nintendo and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were good though)
