Everyone is complaining but this is so much better for the environment, no light, noise or air pollution and safer for local wildlife. Deffo the way forward, fireworks are fun, but should be a thing of the past.
Laser shows are not even close to a good fireworks display. To propose replacing a real fireworks display with a laser show is ridiculous. In.terms of bang for the buck, traditional fireworks displays are in no danger of being replaced by laser shows. I went to such a laser/drone show last night. Scheduled for a 1-hour show, people began leaving after 20 minutes. Try that at a good fireworks display l ay. After 40 minutes, everyone in the grandstand area had left the immediate area - with many expressing the hope the town returns to a mor⁹ traditional fireworks show next season.,
It sounded like a good idea but when looking at this it is something you’d want to see after a rock concert! Not a fan of fireworks, but just do them. Worried about air quality? Why not limit fireworks for everyone for just the 4th and 24 th instead of a few days before and after. Public firework displays are much safer BTW.
Exactly. I'm in Minnesota so the only legal ones are the lame ground sparky ones, because people are stupid and will start fires. But public fireworks shows never start fires because of all the permits and safeguards. Now with a laser show you have to notify the FAA and make a no fly zone because the lasers can blind pilots
The city council gets to Vote? Why not let the people vote for next years event now that this laser show has been attempted? Pretty sure fireworks will prevail!
The city council is supposed to represent the people, but most people pay little to no attention to their councils so you get people in there that don't really represent the majority.
Most fires are caused by individuals who buys them from a fireworks stand. I hate it when my neighbors shoots them off & litters my yard with the wads. I’m also concerned about the field behind the house catching on fire. I’ve seen fireworks fall & shot at houses. I’ve even seen the neighbors dogs run away because of the noise & they found two of them ran over. It dosen’t hurt my feelings if they ban fireworks all together. Once I’ve seen a show I seen them all. I’m starting to like them drone shows.
Went to the laser show btw and we weren't the only ones to get up and leave after the first song. I don't know why no one ever wants to do drone shows. They've been proven to be really good. That laser show was just bad. It felt like someone told them a week before they couldn't do fireworks and then there was a mad scramble to find something else. It was a boring mess.
