It takes guts to reveal such personal issues....You two are such gracious hosts on this channel... May The Almighty keep you two and the rest of the family in His hand.... Thank you for being honest and forward with all of us following your journey... Sail on!
Grace, congratulations on your decision for the elective surgery. You are young and beautiful and this will make you mentally happier seeing your body restored, as much as it possibly can. Great decision and I’m sure you will be happy with the outcome. Damn cancer, so sad to hear that your sister has it. How awesome that you will be with her during her surgery and part of the recovery. A loving decision to put a hold on your adventures to be with her. And kudos to Bill! My sister stayed with me for a month when I had my lobectomy to remove my lung cancer. Her presence was a God sent. And to both you and Bill, I am so happy that you have decided to do the Pacific!!! Live your life boldly, with safety and explore all of this beautiful world that you can. I am so thankful, as a 69 year old women, that I was able to do so much in my life. Traveling, living on a sailboat, scuba diving, skiing, climbing mountains and so much more, all over the world. I worked multiple jobs to save up for trips - my passion. I did this in my 30’s to my 50’s. My thinking has always been go, do it, find a way. You two are an amazing couple and I wish you two a great exploring life. Love you and your channel.
Thank you for this positive and heartfelt feedback 💓 Sounds like you are in remission and thriving, very happy to hear that! It also sounds like you lived a full life, how wonderful. Thank you for watching and for being here. 💓 Big hugs!!
Thank you so much Grace for the update on your Medical Condition. We are all praying for your sister and know, that with your help, she will meet the challenges that confront her. December 20th we wish you a good flight. This is certainly a HUGE development and one which we are so pleased of hearing, crossing the Pacific is certainly the last frontier for a 36ft Saber and yourselves. Please be safe and can't wait for further developments.
Three weeks ago, you had a video about being the ultimate cruising vessel. Are you now going to test it? :-) Good luck in life and health. And for Grace's sister!
Good to hear you're doing great in the recovery!! Life is like the weather - always throwing curve balls. I wish the best for you both and for your sister.
A Pacific crossing, that's huge. You're nervous because you are experienced. Good for you.😊 You will be well prepared because that's who you are. This will be you best adventure yet and I cant wait. All of that hard work you've already done plus all the work you have yet to do will calm those nerves as you step off of that cliff. Please bring us along.❤
Good to hear Grace is doing well, will keep her in our prayers for next surgery. My wife is a 7 year survivor of metastatic melanoma, so we agree with your advice to have screenings. Great to hear you are planning a Pacific crossing! Cruising was our plan before cancer happened 😢 and I have always wanted to make this sail. I wish you both peace and fair winds.
Good to see you peoples! So glad you're tracking well Grace, and so sorry to hear about your sister, what a shock best wishes for her! Hopefully see you both soon!
Great information you two! Grace, I have 4 sisters (and 2 brothers) and our sister-bond-support-system is one that has carried each of us through the most challenging times of our lives. I wish the same for you and your sister. Ed and I are sending lots of good energy for both you and your sister over the coming months. Bill, tremendous respect for how supportive you are, what a blessing. We are so glad you are continuing your tradewind circumnavigation and we'll all be looking forward to seeing your progress. Namaste. 🙏
My heartfelt thoughts are with you and your sister for speedy recovery, coming from a sister thriver! Your very courageous, stay positive, enjoy your sail!! 🌷💯⛵️
As a cancer survivor, I'm so glad that you and your sister take care of the problem early. As to recovery time when I had my Laryngectomy, 22 years ago I was told I would be stuck in the hospital for 2 weeks after the surgery! I went home 6 days after. It all has to do with attitude. So glad you're doing so well! I have found that the more I do the better I feel! We will all have your sister in our prayers!
Thanks for the update; glad to hear that you all are doing well and making exciting new plans! Grace, am wishing for your sister that her treatment is as successful as yours. I also really appreciate the message to get yourself checked out. Your episodes prompted me to get my first mammogram, and after a callback for some more advanced imaging, I got the all clear. Just wanted you to know that your health messaging worked. And to thank you for using your platform to talk about the importance of health checkups
Glad you are doing so well Grace. Thanks for sharing your very personal journey with your health. Also I can't believe you're in your forties you look amazing. Good luck with the preparation I'm sure you guys will be fine as you and Bill rock 🪨.
I want to thank you both for sharing your lives with us an being honest an raw...Grace your courage an strength is inspiring!! I will continue to light a weekly candle for you both and your sister!! Excited for the Pacific Crossing ✌🏼💗😊
Amazing, I have been away from RUclips favorite channels for months, since weather in Western NY got back to outdoors golf that has been such an amazing year for me, and saw your new post today to find you too have been away just the same. Thankful for your good news and the promising plans ahead, sending prayers for procedures for Grace and her sister, looking forward to the preparations and adventures ahead!
Prayers for your sister and you Grace and Bill. You have the plans set out very well for all things going forward. Thanks for sharing. I look forward to your successes planing for the new adventures. Best wishes and respect sent. Be well and at peace.
Sorry to hear about the bad run of luck with you or your sister. I appreciate you using your platform to share your experience with breast cancer. It is easy to think of it as an older woman's disease or for those who have not had children but it can strike at any age. My wife got diagnosed with stage 2B triple-negative breast cancer at age 37 and passed within 9 months despite aggressive treatment. Like your younger sister, mine was scanned as a precaution and was HER2+ BC a few months later. I'm pleased to say she is okay 10+ years and counting. Best wishes to you both!
One day at a time, One step at a time. You are moving FORWARD, good on you! God bless, Maintain a positive attitude. Bill you impress me with your positivity.
Spend as much time as you can in the Tuamotus. This was by far our favorite area to explore. You’ll see plenty of sharks. South Pass Fakarava during the grouper spawn (June) will stun you.
Thanks for having this talk with us. I say: Full Speed Ahead for the Pacific crossing! : - ) Of course I'm sitting here, not planning my own crossing of the Pacific, so I'm more or less here as a moral booster! Go Team Go! : - ) I will be awaiting every step you take leading up to the big "P". AND BEYOND. With all positivity, Scott
So glad to hear your plans and to see your optimism for the future. You guys have been through so much and it’s great to see you pulling through everything together.. Sending best wishes to your sister Grace - she is going to benefit so much from having your support. Are you going to pop into The Galapagos en route to The Marquesas?
I can't say that I'm happy to hear the news about your sister; but I'm ecstatic to hear about the news of your health, and the news about crossing the Pacific. May you have fair wind and following seas all the way❤ I will be watching!
Happy for your recovery Grace, but I can see Bill is exhausted, I feel there's more than just surgeries and medical issues. I hope for the best of you both.
Prayers for you Grace and your sister just give yourself time to heal and recover. You will now have plenty time to prepare the boat for a long crossing looking forward to the progress.
Go for it. I had a pretty good youth and don’t regret my choices except financial security. I’m going through prostate cancer recovery and just keep going on adventures, beats sitting on the couch.
We always talk about that little issue of financial security. Makes us nervous sometimes but we're kicking that can down the road! Would rather live this kind of life now and maybe regret it a bit later rather than not do it at all! lol. Sending hugs and good vibes for your recovery🤗
Catalpa is near you, perhaps you'll end up in the same boatyard. They are prepping their boat as well, but I think they are going to go through the canal to the Caribbean. At any rate you might be able to hook up and have dinner together. I'm glad to hear your medical issues are going well. It sounds like you've done a lot of your own research, and are making wise decisions. I enjoy boat work videos so don't be shy about making them! Your videos get better all the time and I enjoy them very much. Thank you for sharing! Good luck with everything! Luvya lots! 💖👍💖
Thank you for the update. Prayers for both you and your sister. You are fortunate to be each others source of strength. Looking forward to your preparations for the big sail across the Pacific. A dream soon to come true and so well deserved!
So glad you are doing well, Grace. Best wishes to your sister as she embarks on her journey. I’m sure you will be a great help and comfort to her. So excited that you are crossing! I hope you can meet up with G and B again. Best wishes to you both!
What a period in your life. I appreciate you all keeping us as up to date as you do. I am wondering if you all will consider some crew to cross over with you to share in the watches and chores? 21 days or so in a long time for the two of you to man everything. Sending you all the love in the world and I know without a doubt that whatever your idea of God is will be along with you every step of the way. HMMMMM step might not be the right word for this situation. maybe each nautical mile of the way. At any rate whatever guides you in your times of great contemplation will continue to do good work. much love to the both of you.
We don't have plans to take on crew, we are pretty comfortable completing passages together. Our longest sail so far is 27 days and 4,000 miles across the Atlantic
Thank you for sharing and I will keep you and your sister in my prayers. Gods speed. Looking forward to the next adventure. I’ll be watching whatever the content.
As a cancer survivor, I can totally relate with your 180° mind shift and desire to do the Pacific. However please consider all necessary plans to get checks and treatments, do not take any risk. Stay strong!!
G. R. E. A. T. news you are doing well ‼️ Praise God. Best wishes with the new surgery. Mindset is good. 👍🏻 Happy you have 5-months till the PO crossing as full recovery takes longer that you think. 🤫 Looking forward to traveling with you guys on your next ocean crossing and your time in paradise. See you next time.✨ 🌊 💨 ⛵️ 🏝️ 👙 🌞 ✨
Wow, lots to unpack there. But in reality, as far as the crossing goes, you guys got this. As far as your choices and your cancer. I think it's awesome that you are kicking it and living life. I also think it's awesome that you are choosing to be there for your sister. In that's is not a common thing anymore. I won't go into my story as this is not about me. But you and your sister are very lucky to have that bond.
This is content guys, thanks. I know she’s small but ever thought of one extra crew for a crossing. You could always build an extension. I know the feeling of it being your home Bill, spot on. Love to you both.
Super glad you enjoyed it Steve :) Bill and I work quite well together on ocean crossings. We may take on crew when we get closer to the Southern Ocean I'm not 100% sure I want to do the sail Brooke and Gary of One Life are doing right now! lol. Love back 💓💓
Bill and Grace great video. Grace your sister I'm sure will be in great hand as were you. You being there with your sister is a boast for her as it was for you with her there. Yes it will be awesome once you two decide to take the crossing Pacific adventure. I'm looking forward to that. Do you have any plans at all to meet up with Delos, One Life again? Any how Bill and Grace it's been fantastic following you two and I feel your up's and down's as if I was actually there. Okay looking forward to next video
Glad to see you are doing well Ms Grace. Praying for you to continue doing well and for your sister to get thru this as well. You will be a great help to her knowing what she will be facing . And Bill make sure you pace yourself, you have been thru alot also. It wears on us when our loved ones get scary sick especially our better halves. Take care.
Super happy and excited for you, it's going to be fun exploring French Polynesia with you. But that's all in good time, I'm sorry to hear about your sister's problem, praying she has a successful surgery and speedy recovery... My only question is, there was mention of possibly doing some road tripping during your off season several months back, just wondering if that's still a possibility between now and that March/April departure window?
Ya know I haven't really thought about March and April all that much. We love to dive and havent been doing much of that lately so we might fill our time with that and actually we stay quite busy with you tube and boat maintenance but you never know! 💓💓
I support your crossing 100%. If you don't do it now, you may regret it later in your life but ... if I may suggest, maybe taking 1 or 2 crew members with you. Yes it will be crowded but it will also alleviate some of the load and responsibilities and take a load of your mind at the same time. All this from an armchair captain - lol -
Stay Powerful and have A great time sailing to PV! We’re members at Paradise Village and love it there! Thanks for the update and wishing you continued success and health! 🤜🏼🤛🏻
I'm praying for the best for you. My dad was diagnosed with stage 2 lung cancer in August he was gone by October. We were planning on a sailing trip around the keys. Sucks he is gone I will keep praying for you
Thanks for the health and travel update. I was hoping you guys were going to have good news and get a green light to continue your adventures. Yeah! Grace, I wish your sister a speedy and full recovery as well. I am looking forward to your videos on how to prepare for a Pacific crossing. Some of your last video was shot in the Campbell River area just north of the Comox Valley where I reside. It makes me realize how small the world can be and how anything’s possible. Thanks for your sharing and your amazing videos.
Hope you continue to heal and have no more surprises. Hope your sister is cleared after her surgery and looking forward to seeing another channel in Polynesia! Donate for a Dream
Hi Grace, and Bill. Having lost my wife 18 years ago to the Big C, I have a good friend who survived her Kimo treatments. they bought an ocean-going cat as it was a wakeup call live your life while you can! You are very fortunate and brave and Bill is a champ you need. Cancer there is no sugarcoating the fear of drama apprehension once diagnosed it is hell. As to your sister, yes you need to be with your sister as she now is experiencing the same mental upheaval that you went through, and there is the ongoing what-if apprehensions one has to live with. I wish you well and good fortune. May your sister experience a positive health outcome as you have. SV Skoiern IV

Sorry to hear about the bad run of luck with you or your sister. I appreciate you using your platform to share your experience with breast cancer.

These events in our lives cause us to re evaluate our priorities and desires. We will pray for your sister.
Thank 💓💓
Thanks for the update - very happy to see that you are turning the corner from a very difficult past year.
We will definitely be meeting up with Delos and hopefully with One Life in Fiji down the line!! Thank you so much for being here! 💓
Best of luck for your continuing recuperation, and I hope your sister also comes through her surgery and fully recovers. Best wishes.
Thank u 🙏🏼
Thanks for sharing your adventures
Our pleasure!
I am looking forward to you being able to complete your treatment and recovery. I'll be here when you're finished.

Take care.
Thank u 💓💓
Cruise on!
Love the ending :) Good on you both as you keep on truckin' :) 🙂

Grace, All the best to you and your sister on positive outcomes for the surgeries. Bill, 5 months will fly by, you better get to work!
💓💓💓
Super happy and excited for you, it's going to be fun exploring French Polynesia with you. But that's all in good time, I'm sorry to hear about your sister's problem, praying she has a successful surgery and speedy recovery... My only question is, there was mention of possibly doing some road tripping during your off season several months back, just wondering if that's still a possibility between now and that March/April departure window?
Ya know I haven't really thought about March and April all that much. We love to dive and havent been doing much of that lately so we might fill our time with that and actually we stay quite busy with you tube and boat maintenance but you never know! 💓💓
Your making good choices in life . looking forward to your crossing the Pacific!!!
Fair winds ⛵️
🙌🏻😘👊🏼 thank u!!
It was great to see you in Annapolis. Praying for your continued road to recovery and health., 👏🏻
💓💓 Thank u!
I support your crossing 100%. If you don't do it now, you may regret it later in your life but ... if I may suggest, maybe taking 1 or 2 crew members with you. Yes it will be crowded but it will also alleviate some of the load and responsibilities and take a load of your mind at the same time. All this from an armchair captain - lol -
I hear ya, we are pretty comfortable running the boat with two people :)
Much love and to let you two know that we are all here for you tell sis we are here for her to
Thank u! 💓💓

@@CalicoSkiesSailing I absolutely hate cancer. I swear they have a cure but they make too much money off the treatment of it.
Amazing resiliency. ❤️💗❤️

BC is a gorgeous part of the world! We would love to sail up there some day!
Great video and I’m so glad to hear your in good health
Hope you continue to heal and have no more surprises. Hope your sister is cleared after her surgery and looking forward to seeing another channel in Polynesia!

I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. Thank u for reaching out and for being here 🥰
