Maybe it's because I've watched SO much pool, but I can see the ball colors and I immediately know which set of balls they are using. So the colors never really bother me while watching cause I remember every set lol.
As a fussy, freeloading viewer, this has everything I like, thank you folks. Two first-rate players, in s reasonably long match, winner breaks, call shot/call safety, no early 10, intelligent commentary, sticking to the match at hand, and a dingle camera, elevated above the bottom rail, no annoying & confusing camera switching.
Love the commentary! Rico Diks, been a long time I've seen you play. One of the most natural and knowledgeable players of it's time. Rico Diks and Alex Lely dominated the era just before Nick vd Berg & Niels Feijen in the Netherlands.
Watching from Southampton New York and like everyone else love the intelligent and experienced commenting. I look forward to more matches with Rico’s perfect descriptions. Thanks!
Mr. Dicks, I appreciate you explaining the path the cue ball will take in various situations. Example: 36:00 On object ball near-to-the-rail cuts depending on angle (45 degrees to 85 degrees or so), the cue ball will come off the rail at about 90 degrees. Thank you for your tips!
lm really enjoying this match a lot but, quite frankly as a second language speaker, this's the best commentary ever.. very entertaining 👏really nice bucabulary. Thanks!!
I’m back from the future, from 2099, and I have to say that this was one of the best matches from your era. In the years to come be wary of the laser cues and guys who pocket balls from their chair, I still don’t trust them. Be safe and stay masked during the pandemic of 2047. Even now days we still enjoy watching pool from the early century. Be well, pool junkies, be well…
Love the edits to the next break! Excellent commentary, too. I liked some of your tips, as well. Watching these guys pattern and execute is a thing of beauty. Ko looks like he plays about equally well either hand. As Danny would say, he's amphibious. Maybe Filler, Kazakis, Grabe, He, Immonen, MorraYapp, Corteza, and a few others. For very good and most fun to watch, now that Efren is pretty much gone except for one pocket, I would have to say Pagulayan for me...dude's a riot. Ko definitely made that 11th game harder than it had to be, but he's Ko, so he ran it out anyway. Man, I would have never thought to use the mirror system to hit a ball that far out, something to keep in mind. Rail first shots are the only place I use this. You forgot the third case, which is often me, you are in line and manage to get at least a bit out of line, way too often, on the next shot. and it snowballs from there. 😕 And I totally agree, these guys ability to be in crap shape to fine shape is one of their biggest advantages over a lesser player, that and REALLY knowing how to pattern a table for natural rolls RIGHT up the shot line, rarely having to cross it and come up with very accurate length to get good position to the next after that one. I actually think those, and successfully breaking well, which means completing AND having a workable first shot, are a large part of the difference in percentage run or successfully safed at some point. And it's not just doing that, but the ridiculous percentage of strikes that they do that. Rock right, potting is literally easy. And the game gets made harder and harder, like the breaking boxes and legality rules now, and jumping rules, and pocket configurations, a trend which most of the pros seem to like. I'm not too sure that makes viewing more fun to the un, or under initiated, but it does for someone that at least understands something. My favorite is an excellent safety battle, which I'm fairly sure is world class boring to people that understand very little about how to play. That is even more interesting when there is little to hide behind, making execution very much more difficult. Seems to me one aspect where these guys at this level REALLY shine, basically snooker on a pool table, where you need the extra points.
Great match and great commentary. Someone should color correct the footage so it doesn't have an orange cast. Makes it harder to see the difference in color between the balls especially the 4,5. Good work.
Wow. Never heard so many people comment on the Commentary. And all positive but one. I infer that SBA does not play pool. Watches for some other reason, witch is fine. For me,(first time I heard Diks) He is among the best three Ever! Jones,Strickland and now,Diks. ( in whatever order you like)
Cheers from Canada! As a new pool player I've really enjoyed your commentary on this match! It's really interesting to hear the mindset and strategy past just sinking the next ball.
thank you for that diagram I never really thought about it like that you just help me up a bunch definitely will be running more racks of nine-ball now
He keeps saying it's a race to 15 it's a race to 17 lol I always enjoy watching Shane play and Big Ko is also one of the best players I have seen the Chinese Tai Pai players are so strong it's crazy to watch. Absolutely love the video thanks for providing and commentating
To add to your list of greats: Ko Ping-Chung is going to be top 3 if he achieves his highest potential. His 10 ball world champion final against Filler was scary-good. One of my fav performances in recent years.
watching from bakersfield, california, usa. just had spine surgery so can’t really do much. it’s about 12 midnight. also can’t sleep very well due to postop pain. thanks for posting this video. excellent discussion of shots.
I love the idea of events where the players dress nice (a la snooker's premiere events), events where they wear their sport jersey/black slack style and also events like this where they are welcome to dress completely casual and comfortable. Has a little more of a pool hall feel. Good stuff.
Great match! Shane is an excellent player though in this match he perfromed not at his top level. I did not see Ko earlier. What a great player is he! Really great ball control wow! And thumbs up for the commentary thanks! Only small remark: would be nice to have some more camera angles and/or zoom ins. I certainly will check your channel for more top pool action! Kind regards Sander
I'm Lajaun a c+++ player I think. I'm here watching from Jamaica and I'm still watching the match. my current elite players are 1: Albin Ouschan, 2: Shan Van boening and 3: Fedor Gorst. these player are consistent and smooth as silk with their stoke. thanks for showing this match and for the pool tips, a mean it can't be too much.

( needless to say Efren plays like this all the time just not at events like this one Kaci!) He’s Come a long way! Anyway Great commentary sir! Appreciate the upload of these two TITANS and great to see the channel doing so well. Been watching from work and home in between X-rays and home.
I watch these late at night with my phone in hand...when the phone starts to droop and my eys also i give up most of the time unless i just have to finish the match
Would love if SVB and KPY were wearing pulse monitoring bracelets during this match, as I saw in a recent match between SVB and alcaide. Interestingly, for both, heart rate was MUCH higher when sitting and watching, rather than during their turn at the table. At times up to 2x higher when seated. Shane's HR even went into tachycardic territory at times while seated. But KPY, for all his constant adjustments and recalibrations, appears perpetually relaxed. Truly inspiring.
i would like to see a team phillipines vs team chinese tai pie and the winner vs the winner of the mosconi cup with mosconi cup rules. that would be spectacular
@@billiardnetwork so do you know how much? I don't know about Ko, but I know SVB likes to play for $. I saw him play The Lion (& I ain't "lying") @ Hard Times Bellflower for 10-20K. Frost played also. So how much? $300, $1K?

Just a "little" misleading? I'd say "a lot". The Van Boening vs Immonen match, just a few weeks earlier in the World 9-Ball Champion ship that the commentator refers to, had fantastic play by both players, much more drama and tension. This was a good match, but certainly nothing extra special.
It sure is nice to see an orange 5 again.

Damn right it is
Maybe it's because I've watched SO much pool, but I can see the ball colors and I immediately know which set of balls they are using. So the colors never really bother me while watching cause I remember every set lol.

great battle!
Fedor is on my list along with everyone you listed.
Never seen SBV so haphazard on some shots, especially kicks. Seems he was dressed for practice . . And wasn't aware how slow KPY is. Hard to watch.
Match of the decade....no doubt...
What a match! Almost like watching Earl Strickland and Efren Reyes in their prime!
Idaho USA Here...
Thanks for watching
Shane, when he shoots he is just making it easier for Ko to win the table.

I can’t believe he haven’t mentioned Efren Reyes once!!!!
Great content! Thank you. What about Skyler Woodward for your list?
I think we have matches of his from the Eurotour and WPS
@@billiardnetwork Yes! The commentator was asking for comments on today's elite players and I thought Woodward deserved a mention.
Thanks!
@@craigkendall1754 nope. Woodward isn't in that elite list. Great player, maybe even in the world class. But not world elite.
The two elite players he neglected to mention were Joshua Filler and Jayson Shaw.
Very much enjoyed it mate 2:31:36
Okay so this is the first set...second set Shane demonstrates his breaking potential
Would put big money on Ko having the lowest blood pressure of the top ranked players.

There are some matches with Ko and Svb wearing the heart rate monitors on our channel and we will upload more
Probably a malfunctioning monitor. I’ve seen other matches where he’s about 75 bpm when seated.
This kid has a proper que and no glove, I like it!

how much are they playing for
Svb vs dennis when they played rt 120 locked the match of the decade without discussions
There are a few of them :)
Josh Roberts Vs Shane VB = perfect bar table 8 ball match.... Awesome. Both players played flawlessly other than one scratch on the break.
@@jeffna1802 yeah but bar table doesn't really count :)
Your camera angle is almost like I'm there, watching it from the rafters 50 meters away.
Yeah well watching just the table alone make viewers stay for way less than having a bit of the space shown

Board says 17. ?
Fun to watch a dry break cost you 3 racks run off befor you get back to the table...they make lotta balls...comment guy is knollege able cool headed

Efram Reyes is not doing as well as he used to, but still the best I have ever seen in real life.

I hate when the 8 ball goes n the pocket when your is still on the table because that mean u list SMH 🎱
I enjoyed playing pool 🎱🎱
Do u like low balls better or do u like high balls better 🎱🎱🎱
To me it does not matter if low balls or high balls because I can still regardless OMG 🎱🎱🎱🎱
