Ben’s a big nostalgia guy, so in this Gear Lab, he takes a trip down memory lane for this in-depth boot review of the Huckberry x Danner Mountain Moc 917. Don’t call it a reissue-it’s a reinvention. We teamed up with Danner to update a legendary 1960s Moc for the modern era. It boasts a waterproof GORE-TEX liner, Danner’s Vibram 917 sole that’s iconic for its sneaker-like comfort, and a fully recraftable design for a lifetime of wear.

I have trouble with the boots and shoes on your site. They run too big. Your All Weather boots are a full size too big and your Luca footwear shoes are a full size too big. I ended up having to go with a size 9 in both after playing the return game which I hate doing. I wear a size 10 in Danner. I have 7 pairs of Danner boots and shoes and they all fit perfect. So do I go with my Danner size 10 or since it’s a colab with Huckberry should I go down a full size?

Is the tongue detached, gusseted, or is like a sock fit?
The tongue is gusseted starting where the top of the foot meets the ankle
Those are pretty dope, does the goretex make them run hot? If not I'd definitely like to cop a pair 👞👞
Good question! The Goretex will help make these boots more waterproof than traditional leather boots, but the overall breathability/how warm they run will stay about the same!

Is there any interest in having a synthetic option to any of your boot designs? I love these classic looks.
Great suggestion- so far our collabs with Danner have all featured leather boots but that could be an interesting option to explore!
We need zero-drop footwear from you guys...

@@df540148The human foot wasn't designed to be on any kind of heel for an extended period of time. It weakens the muscles and goes against structural alignment. Bad biomechanics. Wearing shoes deforms the natural shape of the foot and prevents the toes from fully spreading, thus not stabilizing the body properly.
@@areszenwarrior Oh boy. I've also read Born to Run and while I've dabbled in zero drop shoes (like Altras), they just don't work for my feet. Also, difficult to make zero drop on a heeled boot without looking ugly af.
