I make this all the time. Sometimes with chicken, sometimes with mutton. I generally cut out the eye of the tomatoes and then cut them in half. The skins come off very easily. Also, I continue to mash the tomatoes until they form a thick gravy. Next time I will use your method and leave a couple of tomatoes whole. Thanks!

I watched videos of shops in Peshawar making this dish, some Pakistani videos and was completely taken in by the simplicity and how surprisingly flavourful this recipe turned out to be. Served it with pao. Last night's dinner turned out quick and perfect. Thanks once again. Stay safe and healthy.

I just watched another vid. A street food vendor. They did the same as you but added yogurt. Is that the "authentic" version of this lovely looking meal? Adding the yogurt!
We cook it every other day and we use canola oil where as in original recipe they use lamb fat and there is no red chili flakes in peshawari charsi chicken but they add lots of green chilies. Its real taste comes with lamb fat or lard.
Making this for tonight’s dinner but I’m using a mixture of chicken breast and minced chicken as that’s all I had on hand and adding potatoes 🥔 to it as well all I can say is the smell is divine can’t wait till it’s fully cooked going to serve it with yellow rice with dried onions on top of the rice 🍚 thankyou for another great recipe ♥️

You can skip ginger garlic chilliflakes. Just salt, tomatoes, green chillies and julienne ginger would do... and of course chicken. You don't want to forget that ❤
Does anyone know why the salt goes in the oil instead of on the raw chicken? Is it a way to control the saltiness of the dish or is there some science going on that I don’t know about?
Let me tell u interesting thing here in Pakistan the popularity of karahi has gone so crazily skyrocket since past several years ,, that the biryani and shahi Qorma were staple in wedding mains nd shahi Qorma is now replaced with KARAHI in 80 percent cases

Prefer the hybrid ones over country tomatoes which is less sour . A pinch of sugar balances the taste well.
The speciality or characterisitc of karhai is that it never uses onions
