***** I don't think they would bring in an actress of Felicity Jones' caliber to play an already established character within the Star Wars universe. Just my perspective.
VERY NICE SET for Jedi Council. Love it! If i may as a question, where can i pick up a DvD copy of the "original" trilogy without the added FX that spill over from the prequels? Any suggestions?
Can’t believe that it’s already been over four years since they launched this. Thank you to the OG team for all the dedication and love you poured into this show! Always will have the memories and whatever you guys are doing now. With Kristin leaving next week, an era has truly ended! Excited for the future!
It's 2017, and I just had to come back and check out the very first episode! two years later, and it still has the same flavor. Always keeping up the good work guys!!
Guys! Please keep this going! Star Wars is my daily bread and butter. Having been raised within the spirit of the galaxy far far away by my late daddy who first showed my Star Wars when I was 6. That's my first movie experience and I have been a mad fan boy ever since!
Star Wars the clone wars is a phenomenal show; I Really don't understand when people hate on it it's great. Especially the clone centric and Darth Maul episodes!!!
Maude Garrett, I love you so much! You are so fun and bring such a great diversity to the show! And I would literally marry you for your accent alone!!!
I am already an avid follower of AMC Movie Talk, and now loving every bit of phase 3! AMC Heroes was awesome and this was a great first episode to Jedi Council! I am just a casual Star Wars fan, loving the original trilogy just as everyone else does, but I also enjoyed the prequels as well. Maybe being a casual fan made the prequels more enjoyable. With Disney doing their thing, I am going to be relying on Jedi Council heavily on making sure I am in the loop as much as possible as this new Star Wars era unfolds! Thanks much from a casual Star Wars fan, the AMC crew is onto something great here with Jedi Council and the rest of Phase 3!
I agree with Darth Harloff, having Starkiller aka Galen Marek come into Rebels in Season 2 would blow my mind! One of my favorite characters and would love love love to see him in the new SW canon.
Thank God for all the new Star Wars stuff coming out giving all these shows an excuse to start up and talk about it in great depth. Gives me an outlet other than just talking the ear off of people who sort of, kind of semi care about my unbridled Star Wars love.
Although I am in fact a woman and unqualified to be labeled your "bro" I thank you for the solidarity! ;) That's being a fan summed up nicely isn't it? Wanting to talk about something all the time and not getting why everyone else doesn't want the same!
Ironic enough, as I very seldom use the term bro. Nonetheless, yes it does, I find myself pouring on conversation tenfold compared to the input I get in return. With that said, if I can spark somewhat of an interest in someone and get enough response to satisfy my stereotypical inner "nerd", so to speak, then I feel I can, at least, sleep well until the next time I get a chance to speak with someone who shares the same fancy as me.
I've gotta say that THIS SET is the coolest one that I've seen in Phase 3. The AMC Movie News set looks pretty barebones which I didn't really like because it lacked the pizzazz of the old set but this one has it in spades and I love it.
I get so excited when Kristian or someone else starts talking about Darth Revan! I want him to be cannon so bad! If he appears in episode 7 I will literally shit myself.
I couldn't play that game since they made him so overpowered. It ruined the Star Wars feel for me, especially when it's just some loser that actually lived during the Rebellion Era and then clearly overshadow the characters of the movies.
Evil Peter best thing to come from the force unleashed games were Mark Griskeys soundtracks. Some of the best non John Williams music we have from Star Wars.
If you ever read anything Star Wars related by Karen Traviss, you can tell she is incredibly anti-Jedi which made her books pretty bad to me because of how she portrayed Force users compared to her pet characters.
"Rogue One" could be the call sign of the Rebel that helps to steal the Death Star plans, and Rogue Squadron was named after him/her in their honor. Hence the reason Red Squadron became Rogue Squadron between ANH and ESB.
jackpotsb3 im 23. I like the prequels. Its all because of that first showing. That first line. It ingrained those moments for a lifetime. Just like pokemon.
I think it would be a great idea to bring in different generations of fans. I hated the prequels but I like hearing different points of view. I'm glad there's a generation of fans that truly enjoyed them. It's all about what keeps you entertained at the end of the day. Don't let judgmental older fans shit on your childhood. :)
The prequels were technically bad but who gives a shit if they're "bad" as long as their enjoyable, that's what makes the prequels amazing! Just not the originals :/ 1. Episode 3 2. Episode 5 3. Episode 6 4. Episode 4 5. Episode 1 6. Episode 2
I absolutely love how Maude discusses the prequels and that era of the story in a way that shows that she loves and respects them and acknowledges how great they. And even more so, how important they are. Good for you, Maude! You should teach the other folks how it's done. Love this podcast series (except the predictable and disrespectfully take shots at the prequels)
I think after the big reveal at the end of season 1 of Star Wars Rebel, I would say Felicity Jones is going to play Ahsoka Tano aka Snips. She was revealed to be the leader of the Rebel Alliance. It could take place after her leaving the Jedi Temple and her journey to band together the rebel groups into the Rebel Alliance.
True.. but thats what Im saying.. Rogue Squadron wasn't formed until after the battle of Yavin.. So how could it possibly take place then, and if it was to take place during the time of the OT Asoka obviously wouldn't be a part of it.. My bet is that this will run alongside the timeline of Episode VII, VIII, and IX.. and will be about the adventures that take place then.
I want (need, crave, etc.) John Williams to do the score for Episode VII, VIII and IX, if possible. He doesn't have to do the spinoffs, others can build on what he did for those.
In my mind when you say Rogue in star wars it alludes to Rogue squadron. Considering rouge squadron was formed after the first death star battle I don't see how you can have them involved with bounty hunters to get the first death stars plans or you would have quite the paradox. Or they just said screw it and threw out their origins to do something new. On the other hand I'd be down for a top gun style movie in star wars with rouge squadron. #spacevolleyball
This was my idea as well. Rogue squadron was created by Luke Skywalker and you first see them in Empire on Hoth. So with the announcement of the title Rogue One, has there been any rumors as to where in the timeline this takes place?
Kristian is also wrong by saying when Clone Wars was out as a show that there was nothing else out there as far as books that were canon. The entire Expanded Universe was canon until it was made to be Legends with Disney. If it wasn't canon, then Leland Chee wouldn't have had a job and wouldn't have to make sure all of the continuity fit as Keeper of the Holocron. Then he wouldn't have to try to explain how things have changed with stories getting contradicted by the TV show. That's doing a disservice to Dark Horse and Del Rey by saying that it wasn't canon when that's not close to the truth at all.
Yes it was. Look up the Clone Wars Multimedia Project. The whole point of it was that they showed the entire war between Episodes 2 and 3 with the books, comics, and games all in continuity. If it wasn't canon, then why would Leland Chee go on boards when the show started years later and contradicted certain parts of it explaining how it fit into continuity? What was the point of his job since his job was to be in charge of continuity. He was the one saying the Clone Wars Multimedia Project now took place in the first year of the war and the show doing the last two years. The show changed Ventress's backstory, had Savage kill Adi Gallia when Grievous did that already in the comic so Chee said she didn't die and survived from that, and when Even Piell was killed in the show, Chee said that the events of a book set after Revenge of the Sith still happened, but the Jedi wasn't helping the main character of that book wasn't Even Piell anymore so it would be changed on re-release. Darth Plageuis even says on the inside flap that it's canon so that people would know it and couldn't say it wasn't. Obviously now it not canon with Disney, but it was at one point since everything was promoted as the continuation of Star Wars. George Lucas had to approve ideas such as The Force Unleashed and telling them to kill off Anakin Solo and have Jacen Solo survive when the original plan was the other way around so they had to do what he said. So yes it was canon regardless of people trying to say it wasn't since that shows you didn't read it and weren't educated on the subject.
George Lucas also asked the writers to have Quinlan Vos survive Order 66 in the comic since at the end, it ran concurrent with Revenge of the Sith. There were going to be plans with him between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, but obviously that didn't happen at the time. The Quinlan Vos who showed up in the show was nothing like how he was portrayed in the comic since he wasn't a surfer guy which was pretty insulting to watch.
No, the expanded universe was not canon. It was never announced to be canon. It was simply declared that it would not be considered canon moving forward. AMC has addressed that fact multiple times.
It was announced to be canon. AMC keeps saying that, but they are wrong. As I said, look up the Clone Wars Multimedia Project. If it wasn't canon, then why did Leland Chee have to address the contradictions the show created compared to what was done already? There's even an Easter egg in Revenge of the Sith where Obi-Wan says Vos is on Boz Pity because that's where he was in the comic at the time. Someone is going to have to explain what Leland Chee's job was with continuity if the Expanded Universe didn't count since he had the job before the Clone Wars show started.
I didn't care for the first few seasons on the Clone Wars. They seems a bit too "campy".. They really picked up the tone as the show progressed and the last few seasons were great. Maybe the reason for Rebels being a bit more "campy" is because it is on DisneyXD . That seems to be the tone they set with there other properties.. ie.. Avengers Assemble, Spiderman, Agents of Smash.
I wish ken was on this show. On Jedi alliance ken and Maude had grown to like and enjoy the prequels. Not mr John John Binks who hates on everything in the prequel era.
You can honestly see the enthusiasm of Kristian and Maude talking all things Star War but John just comes across as such a stick in the mud. Unless it's the three original films he could care less. He even said all he cares about are the movies. I know John is the boss but unless he's going to show some interest in the stuff outside of the films, he should remove himself from this show.
I agree to some extent. That's why I think Kristian is much more knowledgeable about the Star Wars universe than Campea. Would love to see Kyle Newman back on the show.
Agreed. He really isn't a "Star Wars" fan he is a movie fan and a fan of the Original Trilogy films as films not the entire Star Wars universe. He pretty much hates most of Star Wars because most canon content is from the prequel era.
Peter Fisher "He really isn't a "Star Wars" fan he is a movie fan" You do know that Star Wars was first, before anything else, a film. Not a comic or book or anything at all. So if you are a Star Wars "fan" you are technically a movie fan first.
Good work Jedi counsel! I would say I am an average Star Wars fan. Have seen all the movies, played all the games and seen some of the TV show but this really helps for filling up other spots o have no clue about! Love this show!
Fulcrum's reveal was the first time in my life I did a double fist pumped while sitting in the room by myself. LOVE Rebels, and Love the AMC Jedi Council-great show
YES!! So good to to see others agreeing with my own thoughts about Serkis playing Plagueis. Seriously guys, at this point there's only one that can top the evil that is Sidious/The Emperor. And that is without a doubt his own master: Darth Plagueis the wise. Plagueis will be the trilogy's ultimate evil and Kylo Ren will start off as a relic hunter and then become his apprentice.
Great first episode! Love the members of the council. I'm a big star wars fan, but more of the movies, and I'm now reading the new marvel star wars comics, so it's good that you guys explain some things that are not so obvious for those of us who haven't read the novels.
I've been dreaming about a new Battlefront game for nearly ten years now. And I just watched the video about it, and my jaw dropped. My dreams rarely if ever come true, but it looks like this one will. I adored Battlefront II above all Star Wars video games (with the possible exception on the Atari 1983 vector arcade game) and now I'm drooling in anticipation.
You guys should get hold of the new books and comics that come out and review them and tell us what happens in them so we understand the new canon. Just a suggestion but I think it's go down well, especially for those who don't buy them but want to know what happens in them. All the best from the UK!
I think and hope they will keep JW on for 8 & 9, then bringing in new composer talents for the standalone films. Very excited for the new show!! May the force be with you!!
Awesome show, guys! maude garrett is a great addition to the show. Great to have her on board. I always thought that The Force Unleashed should be made canon. Yes, the main character, Starkiller, was made too powerful. But I simply LOVED the tone, the story/events and the characters within the games. I would LOVE the idea of having Sam Witwer reprise his role as Starkiller (along with appearances of Proxy, Juno Eclipse and Rahm Kota). Either way, I loved the show guys. Can't wait to watch the next episode!!
Hi Guys I am really happy that you are doing the Jedi Council. I feel however that the show will need sections, and I loved the 'Star Pause' game that they play on Jedi Alliance.... Special guests also, gotta bring some outside fantatics into the mix.... I will watch every show ofcourse can't wait to see how it develops!
Thanks for watching everyone!
Last year (May 2014), there was a rumor that the third spin-off would be Red Five. Do you think that they have moved this one up?
Maydes name should be Darth Maude
schmoesknow Love the new show !! keep this up , been watching for about a year now !!
That was great. But the goodbye message really should have been "May the force be with you... Always"!!!!!
***** I don't think they would bring in an actress of Felicity Jones' caliber to play an already established character within the Star Wars universe. Just my perspective.
Enjoy our brand new show, AMC Jedi Council, where we talk about ALL things *****!
Very Much enjoy the show and the whole of Phase 3. Clean Up the Filthy!
Great show. I love Phase 3 of AMC!!
VERY NICE SET for Jedi Council. Love it!
If i may as a question, where can i pick up a DvD copy of the "original" trilogy without the added FX that spill over from the prequels? Any suggestions?
Love the show. Quick question though. I gotta know. Why was Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the graphic for Rebels? Lol, what was that about?
jonvegard31 I just googled it and you are not mistaken. Lol, thanks for responding.
great new show, just like amc heroes.. will look forward every week!
Can’t believe that it’s already been over four years since they launched this. Thank you to the OG team for all the dedication and love you poured into this show! Wow the very first Jedi Council.
Jakob Nagel I Know, It's Been A Journey Lol
Jakob Nagel humble beginnings
funny re-watching this after 3 years. You guys still rock! Miss John!!! Crazy to re-hear your takes on things which weren't out yet..
Thank you sooooo much for getting Jedi Council going again! Gonna watch every episode from now on.
Commander Maude great 1st show and I am so happy your on the AMC movie news team you have great insight.
***** you are amazing and a very lovely woman, please keep doing what you're doing!
GREAT SHOW! I'm looking forward to more of this. The force is strong with us all!!!!
It is so interesting to see this at this point in time :)
Maude Garrett, I love you so much! You are so fun and bring such a great diversity to the show! And I would literally marry you for your accent alone!!!
An hour of star wars per week. YEAAASSSSSS

It would be a great idea. Just don't make him so overpowered like in the game.
Game mechanics are not nor ever have been canon. Galen is not that over powered. At all actually. . .
+The Nerdy Bros finally somebody here who knows their stuff.
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...
AMC Jedi Council has arrived. Awesome first episode
Grand Maude Tarkin, no other name fits her. ;)
damn, thought i was being original. knew i should have looked through the comments first.
mike chicotel lol, well I only beat you by 10 minutes, so that's not too bad. :D
I like:
Maudellenium Falcon
David Theriault thats not bad actually. A high five to you
OMG
Thank God for all the new Star Wars stuff coming out giving all these shows an excuse to start up and talk about it in great depth. Gives me an outlet other than just talking the ear off of people who sort of, kind of semi care about my unbridled Star Wars love.
Bro I feel like this with anything in the comic world. I feel your pain.
Although I am in fact a woman and unqualified to be labeled your "bro" I thank you for the solidarity! ;) That's being a fan summed up nicely isn't it? Wanting to talk about something all the time and not getting why everyone else doesn't want the same!

The old AMC set was way better
Fantastic new show, kept me interested from start to finish with an awesome crew!
Oh the glory days!
Awesome incarnation of this phase 3 first Jedi Council! Keep up the great work guys!!!
I get so excited when Kristian or someone else starts talking about Darth Revan! I want him to be cannon so bad! If he appears in episode 7 I will literally shit myself.
Vincent Valentine He almost was canon in the Clone Wars Mortis episodes.
Me too. I really enjoyed the lore of the KOTOR games.
schmoesknow I wish he had became cannon. Hopefully we can at least see a re-imagining of the character in the future at least
OH MY LORD. As if I didn't need another reason to love you all over at AMC Movie Talk. You guys and gals are absolutely fantastic.
Long live Starkiller and the first Force Unleashed!!!
I feel you cuz, I hate the second game got shorted like it did. We deserved a better sequel.
DA KING yeah I'm glad it isn't canon because Vader was captured by the rebels and it just ended without any resolution.
Logan No.
Great show guys! So glad it's finally back. Between this, Jedi Alliance and Far Far Away I get my Star Wars fix 3 times a week!
in my opinion the jedi are the evil
WELL THEN YOU ARE LOST
If you ever read anything Star Wars related by Karen Traviss, you can tell she is incredibly anti-Jedi which made her books pretty bad to me because of how she portrayed Force users compared to her pet characters.
Well beefstu... Only s Sith deals in absolutes!
Qwertify do or do not there is no try.
Not evil, just blind.
Love the show, keep em coming. May the Force be with you...... Always.
I'm living here in 2018 and thought this was a brand new Jedi Council
"Rogue One" could be the call sign of the Rebel that helps to steal the Death Star plans, and Rogue Squadron was named after him/her in their honor. Hence the reason Red Squadron became Rogue Squadron between ANH and ESB.
Where are my Schmoeville peeps at that just finished the SK Podcast?
AHHH. Maude said her Bothans line and she did SPOILER KERMIT ARMS!!!!
Obi-John Kenobi! Ha! Perfect! I'm so glad AMC Jedi Council is back!
Maude's name should be "Grand Maude Tarkin".
Oh that intro is epic! The AMC slate is just killing it!
I really like the prequels not as much as original though. You should watch them again John,Maude, Kristian.
How old are you? Not trying to be a dick, I'm just curious
jackpotsb3 im 23.
Just not the originals :/
1. Episode 3
2. Episode 5
3. Episode 6
4. Episode 4
5. Episode 1
6. Episode 2
Watch them again? Hahahahahahahahaha!
Great first show guys! Gonna be looking forward to new Jedi councils!
Obi John konobi!!! Hahahaha!! Someone make a shirt out of they now!!!! XD!!
I absolutely love how Maude discusses the prequels and that era of the story in a way that shows that she loves and respects them and acknowledges how great they. And even more so, how important they are. Good for you, Maude! You should teach the other folks how it's done.
Very cool idea :)
Like the Idea ;) Loved Ahsoka and the ending of the Clone Wars serier :) very Sad but Awesome. :)
Wouldn't make sense though chronologically.. As much as I'd love her on the big screen
ibanezman04 if the film takes place between episodes 3 and 4 ahsoka is an adult and it could work then :)
True.. but thats what Im saying..
This set is amazing, and what a great dynamic with you three, I really applaud this new show, it is excellent, congratulations
I miss Maude
Love the show so happy it's back on a lot of great information
I want (need, crave, etc.) John Williams to do the score for Episode VII, VIII and IX, if possible. He doesn't have to do the spinoffs, others can build on what he did for those.
Agree!
He is doing VII
The set looks great here! Bright and professional looking.
Maude's name should be "Maudame" like Padame
This is the ultimate star wars panel right here, pulled the right guys from the right places.
Love the set by the way.
guys i am from the future! i have seen ep. 7. message me back and i will tell you all about it! it is AWESOME! btw Mark has a girlfriend, I know.
And he's read a book... Wtf
AMC is firing on all cylinders! Cool show and keep up the good work!
The Clone Wars series is the only time Anakin has emotions.
Incorrect. He has lots of emotions at the end of Return of the Jedi :)
Guys, I absolutely loved the show! Cant wait for Episode II
In my mind when you say Rogue in star wars it alludes to Rogue squadron. Exactly my point in movie talk today :)
*rogue
This was my idea as well. Rogue squadron was created by Luke Skywalker and you first see them in Empire on Hoth. So with the announcement of the title Rogue One, has there been any rumors as to where in the timeline this takes place?
In my opinion AMC are the best movie talk show ever

HILARIOUS to watch this in retrospect... people EXCITED about what RIAN JOHNSON "WAS GOING TO DO" with Episode 8!
I wonder how this show will turn out. LOL
Funny to watch this episode today....
It's funny how wrong they were about battlefront
She is a smart auzzie....!!! Loving this show!!! Keep it Up Christian and AMC!!
old school haha.... 1000 =)
This is an amazing idea for a show,I'll be tuning in on every one of them, love Star Wars to death! Keep up the good work guys!!!
prequels werent that bad
exactly! Star Wars fans are too big of perfectionists.
the whinersare just perfectionst . not every film is perfecteven the orginal trilogy had problems
Sean Drake exactly. Return of the Jedi had more problems then any of the prequels in my opinion.
look up the usual suspect top ten things wrong with the original trilogy and the nostalgia critics top 11 best things about the prequels
Peter Fisher And Return of the Jedi was the best of 4-6.
Excellent series. Thoroughly enjoyable. Keep it up!
I hope Ewan Mcgregor returns in some way.
In a spin Off movie would make my dreams come true, cmon disney he said he will come back just pick him up damm it!
same here... maybe force ghost in episode 7
+Jedi Dark Knight close enough
"Two there should be; no more, no less. One to embody power, the other to crave it."
I'm enjoying Rebels but I don't think it's any where close to what Clone Wars was at its best.
It's not close at all, I agree, but it's getting better
I feel like even when rebels is over, clone wars will be better, loving rebels tho.
I didn't care for the first few seasons on the Clone Wars. They seems a bit too "campy".. They really picked up the tone as the show progressed and the last few seasons were great. Maybe the reason for Rebels being a bit more "campy" is because it is on DisneyXD . That seems to be the tone they set with there other properties.. ie.. me too and feel the same way but good ol John shits on anything before episode 4
I wish ken was on this show. On Jedi alliance ken and Maude had grown to like and enjoy the prequels. Not mr John John Binks who hates on everything in the prequel era.
These new shows are awesome! Loving phase 3, keep up the great work!
1 hour long holy shittttt
Love that Kristian is hosting! Huge fan of the schmoes and amc
Poor Ken...
Great first show looking forward to more to come
You can honestly see the enthusiasm of Kristian and Maude talking all things Star War but John just comes across as such a stick in the mud.
Agreed he's a complete hater, he also Hates anything in the prequel era which is very annoying.
Po1ymorph yes true but these days Star Wars is much more then just movie.
LOVE Rebels, and Love the AMC Jedi Council-great show
loved the show and look forward to more. bravo
Great job with the first show. Very informative. Love the graphics especially the bird with the lightsaber. So cool!
Great first episode! Love the members of the council. I'm a big star wars fan, but more of the movies, and I'm now reading the new marvel star wars comics, so it's good that you guys explain some things that are not so obvious for those of us who haven't read the novels.
Great Show! So glad it's back.
Loved John Campea's point on scale and directing! He hit the nail on the head with that, so pumped for Rion Johnson!
Welcome back guys! Love you Maude you rock!!!
Very enjoyable and informational show
I love you guys! You're all simply the best and I just started watching Jedi Council 35 seconds ago :)
You guys should get hold of the new books and comics that come out and review them and tell us what happens in them so we understand the new canon. Just a suggestion but I think it's go down well, especially for those who don't buy them but want to know what happens in them. All the best from the UK!
Jar Jar Maudie would rock JK!! Great first show everyone!!!!
This show feels very comfortable
So Glad this show is back!!
Kristian did AMC, now Council, and Schmoes podcast in one day?! The guy is dedicated!
I think and hope they will keep JW on for 8 & 9, then bringing in new composer talents for the standalone films.
Very excited for the new show!! May the force be with you!!
Haven't played Old Republic in forever. This show has gotten me so pumped for Star Wars, I think it's time to download it again.
Star Wars The Old Republic, is the best game ive ever played. Its depth is astounding. two and a half years later, and I am still playin it!
Great show guys. I friggin love the set.
Love this! Thanks AMC!
Can't wait to watch the next episode!!
awesomeness!!! great show guys!!!
Thanks for this, guys! I was really confused thinking that both Clone Wars series were cannon. Looking forward to future episodes.
Watching this show in retrospect is hilarious.
