The plants in the video: Ficus Pumila Pilea Glauca Small philodendrons Syngonium Podophyllum Peperomias Ferns Fittonias Tillandsias (air plants) bromeliads
I'm glad you are showing the possible plants - I've been looking through all of my plants deciding what will and what won't work in a terrarium. My favorite of yours so far is the Syngonium and moss. I love the simplicity of it. Thanks, Jeff!
Tropical Plant Party dang, that’s about how my nursery visits go. Usually a disappointment. I feel bad because I want to shop local but when I can get what I want online no-problem it’s hard not to just click and ship.
I know what your dream terrarium plant would be, an itty bitty Anthurium. I know they have "dwarf" varieties (like Lilli and Rustica) but I don't think any of them would fit in any of the jars you've used so far. Just imagine if you could get one like the size of a dwarf Cyclamen. What if you could do a terrarium with spring flowering woodland plants? Things like creeping phlox, hardy cyclamen, hardy geranium, wood sorrel. Something you could chill and then bring in before spring to force blooming early. Oh, maintenance would be horrible, surely.
I was in the hunt for a dwarf anthurium today! We are so in sync! Lol! .. I even almost got some tiny cyclamen for the terrariums! Yep, my first thought reading that was how much work that would be. Lol!
Hi Jeff have not had a chance to thank you in a while have been busy in all things at work and home. Hope all is well and good I might not talk to you again now till after Valentine's day.keep on planting and hope to see you in the next one.hope all your baby's are all well give them a treat from me..Thanks take care.
The tillandsias do well on an interesting driftwood type branch in a tall clear or yellow or light green vintage tall glass vase ( goodwill vintage stuff )...mist in tall vase do well ...leave top open.
Here are a few terrarium tips. all these plants are great and fancy but really, if you just go into a forest you will find so many plants that survive well in moist conditions. Moss, ferns, weeds and etc... Getting soil from a forest is great too because its full of nutrients and worms which is very healthy for a terrarium. When taking moss, make sure to cover the gap with something so the insects still have a bit of coverage. Moss is hard to grow so please dont take a lot.♥🌿🌱🍀🌼🍄
I put a itty bitty prince of orange philodendron in my 20 gallon terrarium about 5 months ago and I think I have about another 3-5 months before I need to remove it for a bigger space. I'll likely just pot it up and have it out in the open as a houseplant but it has been beautiful while it lasted!
Hi Jeff! This was another very helpful, fun and interesting video. I love Syngoniums, too, but am struggling with them. Would you consider doing a care video on them, please? You're definitely making me want to try my hand at doing a terrarium. Maybe after you've done all of your Terrarium Tuesday videos. All of the plants you showed us are darn cute! Thank you so much for sharing this!
string of turtles is infamous for being picky about staying moist, but in a terrarium, I find they're pretty easy. They're a pepperomia after all, even though you wouldnt know it to look at them.
I forget to ask! Did you ever do a video about fungus gnats? I have a plant still in it's nursery pot with a few. I probably should have realized that putting it in a clear tote for humidity and on top of a seedling heat mat was going to make the perfect environment for gnats. Should I just repot it with new soil that includes mosquito bits?
Where is a good place to order terrarium plants? We don't have any available in my area. We are pressed to find much of any plants in general. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day!💜🍃🌺
Hi sandra! I haven't ordered from any place yet that hasn't disappointed me in some way so there's no place I can confidently recommend right now. I'm sorry!
You're taunting me with those variegated Bird's Nest Ferns aren't you. I'm sitting here stubbornly refusing to do a terrarium this year, then you go and throw out a challenge.
@@TropicalPlantParty I'm compensating by starting some of the 'exotic' seeds that either take forever to germinate or that I can move into pots and keep inside till spring. Though next time I'm at the herp shop, I'll be asking about little plants I can put in his tank with him to nibble on.
I got some plants and i didn't think many would survive because locally i couldn't find much. I was extremely surprised that my rabbits foot fern was one of the 2 out of six that survived. I had no idea (despite doing quite a bit of research on terrarium plants) that they would work in a terrarium. Honestly I thought it would be first to die.
The plants in the video:
Ficus Pumila
Pilea Glauca
Small philodendrons
Syngonium Podophyllum
Peperomias
Ferns
Fittonias
Tillandsias (air plants)
bromeliads
I didn't realize how cute this video was gonna be... All so small... Adorable!
Lol! They are tiny and adorable!

Thank you, Glynda! That's one of my favorites also, for the exact same reason. 🙂
You are an incredibly talented plant keeper. I have to say.
Thanks Jeff for the in depth look and info on suggested plants for terrariums, always so helpful!
Thank you!
Beautiful choices , thank you, well explained...have a great day. Hugs.
Thank you! Hope you're doing well!
Hi I love watching your video is so amazed they are so beautiful you keep up the good work they are All Amazed to look at have a blessed day
Thank you so much, Jillian!
Terrarium shops? I hope you can take us along for the ride. Nothing like that around my parts.
Well they are just nurseries, not specifically, "terrarium" shops. Nobody had anything😔

Hi Ruthie! 🙋♂️
This helped me sooo much!! Also I now know that one of my "un-named" plants is a pilea glauca!! Thanks :D :D

Hi Jeff! Great video as always! 🤗What’s the de treatment? Could u do a video on that??? 😁
D.e. powder. I'll talk about it in saturdays vlog. 🙂
Fantastic vid, helped me alot 👍
Thankyou for your recommendation
Your kitty is gorgeous is she a ragamuffin? Love syngoniums too very beautiful no fuss plants.
Thank you! She's a silver point, lynx Himalayan.. I think. She isn't from a breeder so I just go off what the vet said.
@@TropicalPlantParty She looks like a munchkin (they have short legs). She is a cutie!
stevens yes her stubby legs munchkin is what I was thinking I always call it ragamuffin lol they may be similar idk.
I love my watermelon vine, pellionia.
Those are marvelous! Great suggestion!
Tropical Plant Party yes it’s so beautiful & grows really good! I’ll tag you tomorrow on instagram (unless I find a pic)

Violet barn is a great company for terrarium plants.
Lots of good info. Your terrariums are looking good!! Where did you find the baby philo’s, May I ask? They are so cute!!
I see them around at local nurseries with their terrarium plants fairly often. 🙂
Ty for the tips. Where do you do gardening?
Thank you. so much
No prob! Love the username! 🤣😂😅💯
Love the frankie fittonia where did you get it I want one it's beautiful
What is the dark purple syngonium? Can you leave a link to where you ordered it?
I'm not sure since they don't have labels
Peperomia 'Ripple Red' have been great for me in closed terrariums. - great video, I'm going to try a Fittonia now - thanks!
It's so hard to find 2" plants for terrariums / fairy garden
They can be tricky to come by. Hopefully you can find some soon!
Violet barn is a good place to find small plants!
💚💚💚
👌❤
Pruning almost always means propagation, therefore more plants!
I realy like putting asparagus ferns in my tereriums
I had a Pilea glaca and I killed the poor thing right away. It's such a shame because my cats didn't want to eat it.
They can be very finicky
I have a mini red philodendron
They are so stinking cute!
Which plants would be good for indoor terrarium with little to no sunlight?
Put a grow light on top of it.
Will these plants go in coco fiber?
Do you happen to know if hemigraphis alternata do well in terrariums?
They do wonderfully!
Thanks! I have a tiny snow that needs a home.
Is pilea glauca baby tears? It is a pretty, danty plant.
very similar appearance but not the same plant.
@@TropicalPlantParty humm I need to Google that and see. I would think that baby tears would be a good terrarium plant also.
they are excellent terrarium plants!
You're taunting me with those variegated Bird's Nest Ferns aren't you. I'm sitting here stubbornly refusing to do a terrarium this year, then you go and throw out a challenge.
Lol! No pressure, just putting it out there if other people want to join in.

@@emilyjones7061 thank you so much much.
Hi from where do you order your plants?Thx
Where do you get these plants at?
Where so you get them
What about vining philodendrons?
They'd do great as long as they have enough vertical space😊
@@TropicalPlantParty I got an orange prince and a green heart (I think) one today.

YOUR VOICE AND ACCENT are bothering me somehow, not pleasant at all, sorry but this probably could help you improve is why I mention it
Yeah, thanks for that. I'll get right on top of changing my voice and accent.
@@TropicalPlantParty 🤣🤣 Yeah right
