    I love these two. Makes me think back on all the tractor implements my dad and I made together. Id give a lot if i could have him one day to build something again. Hes been gone for 4 years now. Clancy, hang on to these videos. Be good to watch when you get to be older. One more thing, I love how Clancy can hop in the bay with that engine and work on anything under the hood.

    Hey Erika, I just feel like I need to tell thank you. Thank you so much for all the time y’all spend filming, editing, & posting videos. They truly are a blessing in my life.
    Early this morning a dose of reality slapped me in the face. I’ve shared with ya before that your family dynamic and the dynamic of the house I grew up in are very similar. I also told ya that my Daddy passed away when I was 13. Well today it hit me that he’d be 73 if he was still here. 73. I can’t even picture what he’d look like, because in my mind he’s 44 and will always be. So I’d been in a funk all day. Couldn’t shake it.
    So this evening I decided to put some of y’all’s latest YT videos on tv and enjoy my supper. It didn’t take long before I was giggling and my spirits were lifted.
    So thank you. Thank you for blessing my life with laughter, fun, and a fine Christian example. I appreciate it more than ya know!! Prayers & Love from Alsdorf ❤🙏🏻

    Any time you put a bolt into Aluminum you HAVE TO use anti-seize! Great job! (Also make sure when you change spafk plugs you have to use anti-seize. You didn’t have bad advice on ARP Bolts just need to do a little more homework on torque specs.

    Hey Cody I definitely no that you have been hearing a bunch of different things from people but one that has been working on 1967 to 1991 Chevy trucks for the past 25+ years I do have one thing to say!!! You definitely do not want to run that plastic line for your oil pressure seriously!! I have seen several lines get just a small hole in them from rubbing against something or just a little old stinky mouse eating a hole in the line and someone didn’t find the leak soon enough and ended up locking the motor up!! Definitely not good!! I either run the copper line that you should be able to ask your local Napa to get for you or my favorite way is using a braided line that can be used for brake lines and use for the oil pressure line!! You just have to get two different fittings one to hook to the line and to the pressure gauge and a fitting that will screw into the block and the line!!! Super easy and will last a life time for sure!! I even run them in demo derby cars and have never had any issues with them!!! I have less than 25.00$ in a setup with the brake line hose that I use and two fittings!!! Check them out at summit racing and even jegs both can set you up and I promise you that you will definitely be much happier and not having to worry about getting a hole in your plastic lines that they sell and I definitely think should be out lawd for how many motors I have seen ruined because of a Leakey oil pressure line!!!

    Cody if that’s a flared fitting you shouldn’t need any thread sealant. Oring/flare fitting should seal up. Always fun adapting things that weren’t original! We have a race car and it’s a constant fabrication festival!

    Good argument starter is if an extension changes torque?!?! Also after the first running of the engine being heated up and cooled make sure to re-torque the header bolts. They can fluctuate quite a bit. Probably something to check at each oil change after the first few initial heat cycles. Keep the truck content coming!

      Torque is pressure applied in a circular motion. Why would an extension alter the wrenches ability to perform as designed.

    • @shawnkane7152
      @shawnkane7152 23 дня назад

      @@DavidWade-fm3pb read up on it. There are so many opinions about it. Plus pressure applied, your getting a different pull on a ratchet that is close to the nut as to being 3” extended.

      @shawnkane7152 ok after researching I found out that there will be some loss but it was was minimal. Of course it would matter greatly if you were working on a space shuttle. Don't forget to safety wire the bolts.

    Next time use molypaste thread lubricant. It is always good on SST and it keeps threads from galling up.

    Because I've got a horrible habit as i tear a motor down of just throwing all the bolts in one bucket. Ive been buying bolt kits to reassemble with. Lol😂 i wear the name of shade tree hack with pride lol! But the past couple motors I've put together ive used all stainless steel. The instructions i get with those gives a reduced tourqe spec. I questioned the machine shop I use in Texarkana. They explained the stainless bolts were a lesser grade, and that the antisieze also contributed to the lower torque spec. What i do know is, bolt kits make the build much easier. My theory is stick it together and go with it. Most Internet commentors over complicate a process that really ain't that complicated 😂

    I know, professional, or anything like that, but the brain process is telling me if You overworked the bolts and now you’re putting on them with less torque would the gasket be squashed and then you have a header leak?
