Defying gravity from the play wicked. is considered a difficult song on Broadway to sing by famous sopranos. Mitch sings it higher that the sopranos on Superfruit. He’s 🤯

You should check out their original "Happy Now." It's such an uplifting feel good song, that just inspires and invites you into their hearts and minds. Also, their cover of "No." It's just so damn good.

After you watch enough videos you will be able to tell which year it was made by how Mitch looks. He changes so much, so frequently that people wonder if it is still him. Mitch is always there. He just looks different sometimes.

It is AWESOME! And before you ask, Kevin is there he just had to put up Beyoncé from previous song. The fan who recorded this concert was a Mitch fan for sure and didn't record Kevin when he came back on stage. Loved your enthusiasm and overall happiness! It's contagious! I've been following them since they were on The Sing-Off back in 2011. I have listened to pretty much everything they've put out, and this is still, by far, my favorite cover.

Mitch is a countertenor...he can hit whistle notes like a coloratura soprano.

I'm sure you noticed how they customized the lyrics to tell their story, "couch" "Texas" etc. They do that on a lot of their covers. Royals at the end they change up to their street clothes and say they never knew they could get that far.... Have a listen to Mitch rapping in their cover of Problem and another AMAZING musical they do is Wizard of Ahs. You will LOVE IT! Great job!
there are videos on Mitch's vocal range but he can go as high as a white board marker.
I think Avi is the only Pentatonix member to have not rapped in a ptx music video but yeah, they are very versitile as a group. They can do almost any genre and have fun doing it.
Hello Matts Reacts. More fun!! Isn't this one great. For more rapping from PTX -- cover of Problem and No (there is a music video for No and also a live version where Mitch is wearing a black bow tie - you should react to both - to hear the expert vocals on the music video but the stage performance on the fan videocam is 150% entertainment). Also Superfruit's cover of Feeling Myself. There is no way to prepare for a Mitch slap - even when you know its coming.
I think you should just assume if you see and hear Mitch, that there is a great chance of a Mitch slap.
you wanna hear scott and mitch rap you need to check out superfruit's cover of "feeling myself". also, their hiphop goes Broadway vids are so good!
if you want to hear something COMPLETELY different and unexpected from them you need to check out their cover of "Papaoutai" from Stromae. they sing in FRENCH (and are accompanied by Lindsey Stirling on violin and Kevin plays chello).

If you want to hear Kevin rap a very personal verse written by him for what he was going through with PTX’s success early on in their professional lives, check out the song “If I Fall.” It was from an EP he did as a side project with two women (Antoniette and Tara) that they called Triptyq. I really like their music, but no one ever reacts to it.

Avi doesn't rap. He does do a little beat boxing and some throat bass. The closest he got to rapping was in Thrift Shop (Macklemore and Lewis) and it wasn't real close. He sings, plays instruments (guitar and mandolin), writes music and lyrics, and directs (at Acapella Academy).

His vocal gymnastics are incredible as he sings a series of full octave boomerang vocal drops. I don’t know how he can physically do that! Like the rest of PTX, he is so multitalented. Each member has their own super power. To me he is the PTX Swiss Army Knife!

all I can say is if you want a BIG Slap in the face, then you have to check out "Aha - Singapore Star Vista" it's from a fan phone so the quality isn't the best but you hear everything you need to. It does look like Kevin isn't there, but he is putting Beyonce (Cello) away after the previous song and you can just see Mitch move over to allow Kevin to join the rest of them onstage, enjoying all your reactions but too get a fuller picture of how/why Pentaholics came about you need to do Pentatonix run on 'The Sing Off - Season 3' and just see the growth they made even in that short period. All the best and keep it going

I love this song and your reaction was perfect! When they were on The Sing Off they were hesitant to rap during the show-they were a new group and I think weren’t as confident in their abilities yet. I like to think this song is them removing all doubt they can do it and doing it spectacularly. ps-You really should react to the SO series-it’s where they got their start and the evolution is super fun to watch. If you notice, there are five locations/costume combinations. Kevin, the church-going classically trained musician, has the chapel and the band in formalwear. Scott, the extraverted fun-lover, has skateboard-wear and the campus outdoors . Kirstin, the Broadway fan, has clubwear. Avi, the outdoorsman, has denim and flannel and the great outdoors. And Mitch who calls himself a nerd, has geeky looks on the colonnade between classes. That was the first song from PTX volume 2. It was a really good EP. It also had Daft Punk and their original song Run to You which is a song that packs an emotional gut punch. A punch is too light a term. It might really be a sledge hammer or wrecking ball.
