- Many visitors to #Nicaragua seem to be expecting Florida in the winter or some other sub-tropical #weather system but this is the tropics and there is a reason that most Nicaraguans live inland and at altitude. Setting expectations is important. And understanding that many tourists seek out the absolute hottest locations and behavious and then feel that Nicaragua is much hotter than it actually is. #climate

I was there too in leon its a beautiful place we loved it better than the cold. Cold kills all plants
I was there in Las Peñitas from December to April...it was freaking hot all days, up to 41, 42 Celsius. Absolutely horrible, especially when they run out of energy and no fence is working for hours, plus water is off or very low on a regular basis. Although i love that place, i will not stay there more than a weekend or some dayz anymore...Everbody suffers, planta, animals and humans. Even the open Pacific has around 27, 28 Celsius ... I was there every year in past 5 years and its becoming hotter every time. Also the locals and fishermen saying that, except the wealthy people in their well climated luxury houses.
Yes, from what we've seen the last three years it seems a little warmer. Those that have been on the beach longer say that it is more noticeable that every year is just a little more.
Agree 100%. I was living on a tiny island Culebra, PR, moved to Louisiana and by it is hot here! Hahahaha
Boaco is pretty nice, weather wise, except for April, as Scott has detailed several times. No expats here, just locals and me, the lone gringo, who's wife is from Nicaragua. :)

There's no big secret. You just have to get to know your local community and get references, see their work done and hope that it works out. Much like in the US.
Managua everyday is 90°! That’s hot! 🥵
90 is considered very mild. 90 is only hot if you are coming from cold climates and not adjusting. If you remain in a stable temperature, and Managua's daily varies only 2C over the entire year (27 - 29 is the whole average range for the year day to day) then 90 is very comfortable. That's cooler than much of top vacation Europe (I've been in Italy and France well over 100 with no AC!) Managua is cooler than all of southern Europe, while having stable temps all year long. If you are used to 60, yeah, 90 seems hot. But once you move to season-less living, 90 is veyr nice.
@@ScottAlanMillerVlog Managua is humid so 90° feels hotter. And you’re from Texas, that’s why that’s mild for you hehe 🤭. I live in Seattle where 70° is hot and 90 is extremely hot.
As miserable as possible pretty much summed her up in general! But... The last few weeks in Leon have been SUPER HOT for me! :-) Even the AC and Fridges are struggling to keep up.
Is it as hot as Puerto Vallarta in June? If so, then that qualifies as really hot. I live in southern US so I have seen some hot temps. PV was on anther level, though.
PV is much cooler, but a lot more humid.I was just in the area and found it to be quite cool. PV in summer is right in line with north Georgia. Warm, but hardly hot or tropical. PV only has an average high of 33C / 91.4F. It's solidly cooler than Orlando, FL for example. Roughly the same as Miami.
PV doesn't get as hot as the US north east. NYC area will beat it during the peak of summer.

It's humidity that makes the difference. Give me cold and no humidity or hot with low humidity. NW of Toronto hot day go to 105f on deck. Neighbor place 135f on deck. Government agriculture geothermal map indicates he lived on a hot spot. You said it's al about humidity.
Yup, that's why I'm comfy here at 94F when 85F in Florida is often killing me. We're pretty dry, like Dallas.
I was in New Jersey with high humidity when it was 107F. Nicaragua might not get cold, but it never, ever, ever gets hot like the NYC metro area! Or Philly. Or essentially any of the US east coast.
I am in San Juan del Sur for a couple of weeks and it is hot [93F peak] and a bit humid but what do you expect in Central America during the hottest month of the year? And it's a hell of a lot better than August in most of NA! Otherwise, it's amazing.
93F peak isn't so bad if that humidity doesn't creep up on you. You get used to it and 93 is a nice day when dry. But yeah, these are the hottest few weeks, so everyone trying to make the country sound bad is trying hard to cherry pick these weeks, and even they aren't THAT hot.

Definitely, as is Houston. Lots of the US is hotter much of the year.
@@ScottAlanMillerVlog I have been looking into the Caribbean side, but ai get the impression it may not be so safe, nor relaxing. I understand the Corn islands are excellent, but, living in Culebra, taught me, supplies can be an issue…too old for that, hahahaha!
