According to the "Ley de tránsito" whenever a vehicle can go over 50kmh it is necesary a vehicle registration. If you have a bike with pedals with small motor or electric motor elect if you can go over 50kmh with it you need to register it.

Which even a normal bicycle can do that (no motor necessary.) Most anyone who is pretty healthy (not me, but most people) can get to that speed just pedaling on flat ground. When I was in shape I could sustain about 55kph over long distances on flat ground and bikes are better now. A little downhill and hitting 70kph wasn't impossible. I definitely went fast enough to potentially get speeding tickets in the US.
So basically... skateboards are okay, anything else and they can ticket you for lacking registration if they want.

Thanks so much for the in-depth coverage of my questions, Scott! Super awesome and clear. No idea about the 'ox' thing after my first name. It was assigned to me by RUclips. lol
    Cheers and thanks again! ✌

Thank you for the great content as usual.. Just a couple of questions triggered by your content, sorry if they have already been asked before: 1. if you obtain an extension, you don't need to do border runs? Are there any circumstances where the extensions is 100% granted? 2. in these governmental offices as the Immigracion one, do they only speak Spanish or do they manage foreigners using English? I assume all the documentation is in Spanish. Thank you! Apologies if these are naive or well-known questions.

      1. The purpose of the extension is to avoid the border run. That's the only purpose. If you do a border run, no reason to want an extension.
1b. There is no situation where anything in immigration is ever 100% guaranteed, in any country. Otherwise it would be automatic to save money.
      2. Spanish only. You'll never encounter English spoken there.
